How to find the best exchange for specific regions

One of the struggles people in my region face is the issues with exchange restrictions, and as a result I only have access to very few top exchanges.

At the moment the one I use, is no longer P2P friendly and I need suggestions for exchanges that still work in Africa, and have a large user base and following.

They don't ask for KYC, have good withdrawal fees and many trading pairs
*There was a hack last month but no users were affected

If you will trade crypto>crypto it's good

I don't know if you need to do crypto> fiat > crypto

I know of Binance, OKX, Bybit and Bitget.

He posted that he needs a P2P exchange. It means crypto to fiat and fiat to crypto. Most exchanges will request for KYC before using them. But there are some bitcoin and monero exchanges that will not require KYC.

I haven't read anything about the situation of crypto and exchanges in Africa after the detainment of the Binance officers in Nigeria. It seems that country is still hostile but in some parts of Africa, it looks like Binance is expanding (West and Central). The only problem is their services is still limited.

Maybe you can tell us your exact country if you are not worried about privacy, which exchange do you say you were using that is no longer p2p friendly? More information will help us give you the best recommendation, there are p2p exchanges you can trade in without the need to pass kyc.

If you don't mention your specific location it is not possible to tell which exchange platform provides good p2p service for your location.  But if you want to talk about Africa then Binance is available for Africa.  People in Africa can use Binance p2p service.  And Binance has added some more payment methods in their p2p section for Africa, I'm quoting it in bellow

Binance P2P has now added Moov Money, Orange Money, MTN Mobile Money and Tigo Money to the list of available payment methods for buying and selling crypto in Africa. This allows users to trade crypto and receive or send money via the above payment methods.

Maybe he is from Nigeria Africa. I think it's not just binance that is banned there but a few more.

We have the same situation in my country but the binance app still works even when it's banned so nothing stops especially because any android phones can still download the mobile app.If the app works in Africa, I don't see it a problem for him accessing top exchanges.

What you mean by only few top exchanges? That includes Binance?

If yes, then it is the good exchange and if p2p is the problem then try using Paxful which obviously has mandatory KYC but I have been using it for a while and the volume is very good there so probably you can find the traders from your region too.

If KYC is a problem then you may try using Bisq but it has less trading volume for most of the fiat pairs.

If Binance works in your country then go for it instead of any other exchange. As far as I know, Binance works in most countries because it's the top crypto exchange and that's why this one should work in your country as well. I'm not from Africa myself but I believe in some African countries good exchanges work. Binance also works pretty well for p2p in many places.

KYC is not required and they all work everywhere. But it's not for trading, coz it's swap

As far as I'm aware, most instant swap services do have KYC/AML protection. Whether or not you'll trigger them will depend on a lot of things. Sometimes your swap volume, sometimes your IP, etc. Some of them do not mention anything, but it's better to assume they'll request one if you're dealing with fiat. If OP is comfortable with it then it's probably not an issue, as long as he can accept the risk.

for you to really get the best advices you should ask this to your fellow africans because their advices are first hand and they can really tell you what are good and bad specifically for your country there are local boards for you to post this and get good answers

however i have heard that paxful and luno are very widely used in africa but i am not from africa so i can’t be too sure of everything

If you want to convert between Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, using a non-kyc will be suitable regardless of your country such as exch or godex. However, if you want to convert between cryptocurrencies and your local currency, your options are limited based on the legal status and the number of people willing to complete P2P with you. Search Twitter and Facebook to find out if there are reliable people willing to do so. Otherwise, without mentioning your country, you will have to use a P2P DEX such as BISQ.

Same thing here in my country. Our government for a long time now has been on a pursue for p2p exchanges. They claim that this exchanges are the cause of the fallen economy which we all know it's not true. Government most time just want to blame others for their failures to fix the economy as they start pointing fingers to anything that's related. We currently just have few Centralized exchanges that offer the p2p and the major ones have baned the naira p2p from their platforms some removed naira completely. You can put put for decentralized exchanges but then you can check for those that offers p2p in your country also..
