Grayscale files for SOL ETF

If it follows the SEC regulatory requirements and other aspects like security and possible market manipulation it could be approved but let's still see how it will come since lots of ETF are tend to denied regardless who applied. Welp, if it got approved surely, that's a massive feat of SOL and its price will soar up.

I think that Solana will definitely follow the SEC regulatory requirements, guide lines for the ETF applications, no doubt, in my opinion that Solana has no skeletons in it's cardboard as far as the coin security and market manipulation are concerned.
On a good note, I think that the Solana team are reliable persons having been working very hard since the launch of  of Sol token. Project deserves the ETF approval from SEC to really enhance Solana further growth in near future. It is a welcome development to have the Solana ETF.

The Solana Devteam cannot propose auSpot ETF product for the SOL token themselves. Only large asset management funds can issue a SOL spot ETF on the US stock market when approved. A few funds have filed applications for a SOL Sspot ETF but this has been delayed by the SEC until they have a new chairman after January 20, 2025.

We will wait for official announcements, but the proposal of a SOúnpot ETF has already strengthened SOL value in the market. I hope that the recent price increase of SOL has created enough investment demand for SOL from traditional investors in the US. This demand needs to be large enough to absorb all the selling pressure from Grayscale immediately after the SOL Spot ETF is approved ^^

Personally, I believe that most established projects like XRP have more chances of an ETF approval than SOL.

Maybe both of them get their ETF soon anyway, as SEC is more crypto inclined now

I'm not following XRP  because it's a coin that I don't like too much hehehe, but is there any ETF application for XRP?
I think it's just a matter of time to have more ETFs approved next year

I just don't know, I'm just not sure if it's just grayscale who wants to file an ETF at this time? I'm not updated on this issue, I'm a bit lazy to research these days, hehe..
But even so, if it's just grayscale who's pushing this ETF to SOL, I don't think it will be approved yet in my opinion.

Though, I'm also one of those who conducts dca here at SOL in these situations, I just said it because SOL seems to be still raw in these scenarios,
I think it's probably not yet time for that kind of thing.

There are already bets on Polymarket for SOL ETFs
Specifically whether or not the ETFs will be approved by July 31, 2025 and bettors are hopeful that it will be approved by the aforementioned date

He has already indicated that he will work to develop comprehensive regulation for cryptos
I see no reason to deny SOL's ETF in a few weeks or months
And maybe it will be like the BTC ETF, where they will work together with all the applicants, make sure everything is within the rules, and approve everyone at the same time

It is likely to be accepted because the approach in the past was very different from the current approach. In the past it was more about law enforcement, now it is more about regulatory clarity and supporting innovation, which of course takes time and is not quick to get approved.
