Is it better to use a real identity or a alt identity?

I don't want to disclose this, because until I don't disclose that my email is main or not, no one know even admin might not know that, so it is not good for anyone to explicitly say that yeah my email is different or I use the same email everywhere.

We don't ask to attach mobile numbers here, so why bothering this question, we don't have to attach a number to the email too, which we can use here, we can create emails without numbers, and we can create anonymous emails, but don't know if we can use them to log in here.

The point is, we should keep our personal/private life away from a life where we want to be anonymous I mean, here, if we don't want to be anonymous, then it doesn't matter if we use the same email, number, or different.

Its okay... at least with this topic, some people seem to be starting to realize that their privacy is very important, so maybe until now the mistakes that exist can be tolerated, but in the future, maybe more people will start to be wise in using their social media, whether it's email or cellphone number or whatever, privacy is very important...

I think lying to protect our privacy is also important, or not responding at all to answers that provoke us to explain things related to privacy... lying here is not intended to attack or harm other parties, it is purely to protect our privacy,... or if it's too much, not answering is the last solution.

No, i use different email for online accounts, i have emails for crypto related, personal, business, and for spam lol like for subs. As much as possible i don't register my phone number to any site unless its required and it really needs it like for KYC on exchanges and it needed me to do KYC, but if not, i don't mind registering at all.

This is what privacy is: the ability to selectively reveal yourself. You dont need to reveal your personal data always, and you should be allowed not to reveal it when it is not necessary

For an email account I use only for online working from joining airdrop, registering altcoinstalk and bitcointalk account until using for several exchange market account registering. I don't use my main email for online and only for my privacy or my needed at real identity, for my altcoinstalk name is not my real name and I just want take privacy all my real name for offline due how to make secure if any one know my self at offline.
I think better use anonymous name in online if you have earned much profit from trading or bounty campaign your data keep privacy if not use real identity.

On daily basis, our identities on the surface of the internet becomes more visible, cause as new technologies are coming into the market, tracking and tracing of people or identities are become more simple and easier. It is good as a crypto user, not having anything to do with fraud and money laundry, so as to avoid ill act coming against such person.

It's even now becoming scary how AI is collecting our data, we now have zero masking on the internet and you can't do anything without been know on the internet, it's like most of the ways people improve privacy on the internet are becoming exposed by this new things developed, and the worse is people don't even learn about privacy any longer, they just want to make money.

The way people don't take their privacy seriously is the same way they can step on landmine without knowing. Anyone can use your information on the internet to carry out any bad thing on the internet and if you are not careful, you will risk been investigated tomorrow by law enforcement. Privacy is everything.

The taste and chase for money has made so many things let lose. The integration of AI to almost every thing online is becoming so uncontrollable. Every software on mobile devices and browsers of the internet  are now being ran on AI.

As it stands now, the privacy of everyone on the internet has reduced, and if there be a negative turn on these AI inventions, the treat to human personal data becomes untamed.

I think it is time to reduce one's official data presence on the internet, though, to an extent it might already be too late for that.

I agree, with more discussions on privacy more and more people can know its importance and with time their would be more people concerned about their privacy but that's not the main reason we should be talking about it because from what I recall we can never be anoynmous because somewhere everyone make a mistake.

Are you suggesting that we should have a smokescreen activity so people won't suspect that we're lurking around online crypto communities? I think a healthy social life is more about our personal health instead of privacy issues. But I can see that being useful depending on where you live. Speaking about movies, I can't really take them seriously when it's about technology & privacy practices. I remember seeing a command prompt using print command to show a hacker trying to access a secure network.

It depends on what you are doing online. If it's a forum like this, you can use different email and identity since nobody cares about your identity. However, if it's a centralized exchange or casino, you don't have any option than to give the your KYC requirements. Just be smart and don't believe strangers on internet.

It will depend entirely on personal security, if you feel your security is not strong then you should not give out your real identity. Again, if you feel that you are completely secure and that your information will not be at risk in the future, then you can submit your real identity if you wish. However, I think it is better not to provide accurate information to users in countries where Bitcoin is not legal.

But I keep my personal data such as photos, home address, where I live, gender or anything related to my personal data confidential in this altcoinstalks forum.
For me, this is about my personal security because crypto and the digital world are very vulnerable to misuse of our personal data. Btw, I also keep my account secret from my family, neighbors and friends because I don't want my life to be disturbed in the altcoinstalks forum.

I use my dedicated email and phone number in every place of crypto. I always try to keep my personal data separate. However, that is no longer possible when using a crypto exchanger. As well it also save me from the spam and the scammers

I don't recall seeing a crypto forum requiring those data to register. Pretty sure a forum will die quickly if stuff like that is required. If someone asks for your home address or photos for bounty registration, I'd rather ditch them and look for other projects. There's no reason to give your data for KYC when the purpose is unclear. Even exchanges accept your registration even if you don't want to continue their KYC process.
