How do you identify a memecoin?
« on: November 27, 2024, 08:48:58 PM »
If it wasn't obvious before, I think it's now become very clear, that memecoins are the new trend, with a lot of the ones from Solana doing insane numbers.

That said, I noticed that I now struggle with placing projects, take projects like GOAT for example, it's obviously a memecoin, but it's also one of those mini games on TG which makes it a gaming project as well.
Can projects like these still tap into the meme hype now?

No one will be able to give you an answer, but if your investment in those airdrops is not serious or your investments are small, you may achieve some profits in dollars. Currently, even the definition of memecoin has become general and there is no precise definition for these currencies.

Chill bro, I won't go as far as to say meme coins are the new trend but memecoins are indeed raging rn. I saw GOATS recently late for farming but I saw its listing from Kucoin and Bitget's announcement on Twitter so it does look like it's doing pretty well unsurprisingly not as good as DOGS, but not too bad for a normal memecoin. It does make trading memecoins get fun for a while so that's that.

because GOAT are just like the other memecoin using animal tickers i guess its considered a memecoin. it just confuses him because it does have a game app. maaybe they just add the game as sort of a usecase?

animals goes as far as the logo with a pig face on it. there's even a LOBSTER memecoin in one platform but still a memecoin. but i know the pig Nikki was pumped months ago.
memecoins teams so are are also releasing NFTs and memes using the animals too. it keeps the community active.

It is difficult to identify theecoin, others only rely on the community because theecoin rises the rest of the people will be exposed to fomo.
Memecoin only utilizes what is trending, while influencers continue to aggressively promote memecoin, so never believe even if you believe in memes, it will still have a high risk.

To me if a coin is categorizing itself as a memecoin then nobody can argue that it is. Now, can a memecoin also be a gaming project? Yes, they do and we can see them in Telegram right now. memecoin can also be introducing features on its own and maybe it is just capitalizing on the strong interest of the investing people with memecoin since it is already become fashionable these days. However, the trend is now focused on Solana-based memecoins with Ton-based following the lead. Still, overall it can be hard to identify a memecoin that can be getting the attention of the people right when they are just starting. There is remains big risks we have to be concern about...and the risk is mostly with picking a losing memecoin and there are so many of them.

I don't know if we're thinking the same, but I also participated in a telegram airdrop called GOATS, and they're launching next month. I'm eligible on their airdrop, but didn't spend that much money on it. I'm not expecting too much on it since Telegram minigame airdrop hype is long gone already. That is right excitement around tap to earn projects on Telegram has disappeared. It is no longer good way for investors or participants to make money. In fact it is now waste of time. Buying tokens when they first come out might be better idea but it is still risky. I also joined Telegram airdrop and while I might get some rewards I am not expecting much. Trend around Telegram minigame airdrops is gone.

As you said investing in well known coins might be safer choice even if potential rewards are lower. But for those who want to try meme coins there are websites that list newest ones. It is very important to be careful and do a lot of research before investing in any cryptocurrency project.

There are memes that have features and platforms attached to them, and this is good and they are considered or classified as memes because they use the animal as their ticker and mascot and even if there's lack of storyline and narrative, as long as it represent an animal, people can easily it as a memes, majority oif memes are represented by animals, so its being generalize as such.

Since there is no definition of memecoins, just claiming it is not enough. I know some cryptocurrencies that used to claim to be DeFi, then AI, then gamefi, and today they say they are memecoin. All that supports this argument is renaming the project, the logo, or moving to a different blockchain.

       -      Tap to earn now on telegram is no longer a good way for communities to participate because of the shortcomings and blatant deception of their participants who join them. Are there any airdrops that you will require them to make a transaction several times just to be eligible for their supposed airdrops?

Second, apart from the tons of transactions that they will require their participants to make, they will also have to buy starts for eligibility as airdroppers,
isn't this blatant fraud?

Tap to earn model on Telegram is no longer trustworthy because of all scams and fake promises. Many people have been tricked into joining suspicious activities with promises of easy money. Some airdrops are even worse requiring people to make multiple transactions without guaranteeing any rewards which wastes their time and puts their financial information at risk. Some airdrops even ask people to buy tokens or stars to be eligible for rewards which is clearly scam. It is very important for users to be careful and research any airdrop or "tap to earn" program before joining to avoid getting scammed.

Don't they say their project is a memecoin?
I have no idea about GOAT. Introducing a game for the token project looks good for the project. What can the token do to the game is probably something they will figure to make the token attractive.

But tap to earn program in telegram seem to have exposed them to be fraud as said above. They deceived users who participated airdrops.

Yes you are right, they confirmed themselves that they are memecoin, which means without us even looking they have already told us all the information about them that they are indeed memecoin.

in airdrop, I think fraud is no longer a new thing, we have known it for a long time. Even now in the telegram airdrop that became hyope there will always be fraud. We can't expect them not to exist, because they will always be there every time.

putting this into consideration I feel GOATS have potential to join the ranks plus it already on pre-market on several CEX with a nice price so Far
I saw GOATS by chance and joined it to get the airdrop but I didn't spend money to buy in-game because I didn't trust the project very much. But I did the daily free tasks.

The project is now over and the tokens have been allocated and I got about 1000 tokens which is about $7 at the pre-market, it's a trivial amount but it's okay since it's free and I didn't spend much time in the game unlike Hamster.

Don't just follow a booming memecoin or FOMO and go up high overnight. That's really not good because the team behind such memecoins is usually just a team of cheaters who will throw away all their coins when the pump is high.

It's already a lot going on, and even scammers will just get rich with such hyped memcoin methods.

I would usually choose a memecoin that has real growth and utility as well as a solid community and Doxed developers, it will be more secure and certainly there is no fear of losing money.

I still hold my memecoin with dev doxxed, and it's still going well and continues to be developed, and of course with a solid community.

You can see $KOKO KOALA AI which is a memecoin with an image generator utility that continues to be developed.
