Well we can look at it this way, how about those countries that consider gambling as  illegal?

And we have seen that their reputation as well are not affected, so I think it will have the same outlook as those countries that legalized it. And if I'm not mistaken, there are 1st world countries that already legalized it and so far we haven't seen any effect on them in the world economics.

Could be that this countries have matured already so it's ok with them to legalized it winning any dire consequences.

I guess this is one of those cases where it's okay until happens to you or your family. From where I am from, licensed gambling companies have become more bolder now. They started advertising using huge billboards across major roads that's also seen by young people. Granted that they issued license to collect funds for public use (taxes), I think there should be still be restriction on who will see these gambling ads.
that seems fair obviously looking for appropriate locations to promote gambling sites or gambling as an activity in general must be prioritized i don’t think i have ever seen a huge billboard of a smoking/cigarette advertisement?

even if i saw those alcoholic drinks advertised they usually put up a warning or a disclaimer and always says that they need to be responsible

so if they are going to promote gambling it should be in appropriate places and should always include a fair warning

Not all countries legalized gambling. I researched to find out why some of those countries except religion prohibit gambling and then I found out that some countries once allowed gambling but later made it illegal due to the increase of gambling-related crimes and addiction, the government had to make legislation against gambling to protect citizens from involving in gambling-related crimes like the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). Also, in South Africa gambling was considered illegal but was later considered legal.

I think that countries where gambling is illegal see countries where gambling is legal in a negative light and this can affect the reputation of the country. Gambling is legalized in my country and there is no sensitization from the government against problem gambling. If gambling is legalized in your country, do you think it is affecting the reputation of your country in the global arena? Is your government doing anything to prevent problem gambling?
Governments often have a complex stance on gambling due to its game-like nature involving bets and chance. Gambling can generate massive revenue for governments to develop their countries but can also create social problems when many people cannot manage the risks.

Typically, governments prefer to operate gambling projects themselves through lotteries with enormous prizes to attract funds from citizens. Some countries strictly regulate gambling and grant licenses to specific agencies/companies. In the US, people can bet on the outcome of FOMC or presidential elections, something considered crazy and illegal in many other countries, yet the US reputation remains strong and untarnished.

Regardless of whether the country is ripe for the legalization of gambling or not, there are also religious aspects of this issue. And this applies not only to Islam, but also to many other religions in which gambling is equated with sin. So in any case, the government cannot allow gambling where it is prohibited by religion.

Personally I think legalizing gambling doesn't affect the reputation of a nation. Gambling is an individual thing not a national thing. I think gamble can affect the reputation of an individual depending on the individual's approach to gambling.

So when a person goes to Las Vegas we already assume he must have gambled a sum of his money. It's pretty common for people to go to this tourist spot to gamble, the place is where sports events are held like boxing event of popular boxers.

I think this is how Nevada is know for. Known for Las Vegas the gambling Capital and there is a dark side of this such as gambling the cause of addiction and homelessness.

Gambling and how a nation is viewed has no link because Gambling is personal an can't be used to access a country reputation doing so is like generalizing everyone in a particular country as gamblers which will be very wrong so government should legalize Gambling which is a source of revenue to the country because these Gambling companies pay tax and are duly registered

To some extent legalizing gambling in my country as affected its badly, now gambling by law was meant for people from the age of 18 years and above, even children below 18 years go to bet shop and bet and the people know that they have below 18 years and they accept the money from them, and it make children to steal their parents money because of gambling,so to me gambling have a negative effect to the country, that's my opinion.

There are definitely negative effects, where if the community is addicted, then crime will increase where gambling addicts will do anything to fulfill their desire to gamble, and from this one country will have a negative aura in the eyes of other countries where the crime rate is high will be avoided by foreign tourists where they think they will feel uncomfortable

I would say that in countries that have not legalized gambling, they do not gamble? Currently, gambling is practiced in almost all countries and the government cannot stop it even if it wants to. Those who gamble are gambling, so I think that if gambling is legalized instead of illegal, the government can collect revenue from gambling platforms. At the moment in my country governments know about this but they do not legalize gambling. Maybe the reason for keeping it illegal because they discourage gambling. But they cannot stop it.

Gambling is Haram in Islam and most of the Islamic countries are against gambling in any form, they do not care about the revenue from tax, they only think it's the moral thing to do, you can't blame them, it's there culture and the citizens are okay with it.

Most countries in africa against gambling impose high tax rate on stakes and potential returns to discourage gambling.
