The developer of Canaan chips, who has extensive experience in developing devices for bitcoin mining, pays attention to the Ethereum Protocol.

Chen Ming, who was responsible for the production of chips for bitcoin ASICs in Canaan Creative, launched a new enterprise to create devices for mining called Linzhi. The first project of the company is dedicated to the hash algorithm, which is used by Ethereum and Ethereum Classic networks. Development is underway to create a new line of specialized miners — asiks, which will be released next year.

The new miner from Linzhi, according to the developers, will use only 1/8 of the amount of electricity consumed by Bitmain ASICs. Also, the presentation that Chen have developed to a summit Ethereum Classic, which took place this week, a designer claimed that the device will handle 1'400 nagahisa per second, compared with 190 MH / s, which gives an analogue line of AntMiner from Bitmain.

The stated speed of processing cryptocurrency of the network means that one of asik Linzhi should generate approximately $ 20 per day, compared to the projected 3 dollars from asika Bitmain, at the current exchange rate of the cryptocurrency. As a result, the company expects that customers will be able to pay back the equipment and start making a profit within just four months, even if the current situation in the crypto market continues and there is no growth.

Currently, the company is still engaged in product development. According to the statement, customers will be able to physically receive their ASICs in April 2019.

While many individual miners and members of the Ethereum community are currently opposed to mining on ASICs, Chen said in his speech that the hardware itself does not cause centralization.
