据martketwatch消息，纽约大学教授David Yermack表示，比特币不是对金融危机的回应。虽然比特币恰好是在2009年推出的，但其出现却是由于几十年来人们试图在P2P基础上创建数字货币迎来了高潮。Yermack表示，比特币没有受到金融危机的启发，在他看来“比特币推出的时机能够帮助其吸引用户”。
