I think there is no timeline to depend when it comes to success rate. Take a look of bitcoin for example, I don't see that they made progress for only couple of years. But their growth is imminent compared to ICO nowadays.

Yes, but not so many projects are successful after 2 years. Because if I see a lot of new projects and they also offer real products. So with many new projects, certainly increasing competition. And the project doesn't have a good #DevelopmentTeam  that will definitely fail.
