#1 Smart Contract Platform?
« on: October 11, 2019, 07:46:10 PM »
what do you guys think will be the top smart contract platform in the future?

i suppose that the #1 smart contract platform's crypto (if it has one) will be worth a lot of money in the future (if really, smart contracts become widely used)

i am skeptical of Ethereum but to me it has the most developers and overall community - investors, companies, etc. nothing is even close yet that i can see

for this reason i think it has the best chance but curous to know everyones thoughts.

I'd still go with Ethereum, even without version 2.0 being released. It still has the most dapps developed on it as well as the largest development community. Secondly I'd have to go with EOS, as it is the only platform that comes close to Ethereum in terms of useage volume. However I'm still not convinced DPOS is a protocol many institutions want to put their faith into (as it's still very centralized), whereas for dapps it's no problem, and likely more effective than EVM.  We are still a long way away from smart contracts being used by large institutions etc, but this will follow I believe once decentralized applications become more used as well as tested.

I think the one main reason why Ethereum was already catch up by its competitor because of the rising gas fees, while the other major smartcontract players are very stable in terms of transaction fees(GAS) Ethereum smart contract services is the pioneering one, but because of the uncontrolled rise of transaction fees, I think Ethereum was nearing to be de throne!

yep. i am worried because of things like delay 2.0 and roadmap a few times now but besides ETH and maybe EOS nothing seem close.

masterrex - hopefully those things will be ok after eth 2.0 release

I think that throne still belong to Ethereum, most of all the smart contract providers today are just get their idea from Ethereum so thats why they are just copycats I know that the scaling problem on the Ethereum Network will be fix a soon as the Ethereum upgrade will be done.
