Is whitepaper really helpful in choosing a new bounty?

It is good to read the whitepaper first, because we can see the plan of a new project from the whitepaper, usually there is all the planning about the project, although the whitepaper can determine whether the project is scam or not. But essentially there is no harm in reading the whitepaper to find out things in detail about the new project

Many of us are not reading whitepaper I would like to know the opinion of yours. Is it really important to read whitepaper to opt out a new bounty.

The whitepaper is not the important thing but very informative and creates an image about the company, I did not read it but I heard that some people understand which company scam and which is not by reading the whitepaper.
