But Metamask is highly secure eth wallet you can try it.

I think Parity wallet is quite good but still can't get my head around adding coins manually. The syncing happened a little slow only because I was staking with a few wallets but overall I quite like the way it is structured.

MEW is designed for hardward wallets though, it's only safe to use without one if you're not using your key/seed to login. Ie you don't login.
Don't mean to sound rude, but otherwise it's really not safe logging in like this (says it on the website I think).
Hence MetaMask

MEW with ledger rocks.. but like some have said.. the json file/pw options arent very secure.. I'd probably go a different route if youre not going to use a hardware wallet.. of course.. maybe instead just use a hardware wallet

If you just want to see your tokens, why not just use EtherScan? Unelss you need to make transactions/trade, there's no reason to login.
Took me a while to realise this tbh, but it's worth knowing...
