To be honest, I haven't been "hunting" for a while because I wanted to give others a chance to do something about shills - but since there are no interested parties, I present one more in a series of catches.

User : Jujuboy + post history

The same tactic as the shill reported in the previous post - instead of text, he uses images to avoid detection through keyword searches.

He got -1 from me, and I wonder how shitposters like this get + karma at all - I offer a possible option of how it happens, because I found him in this topic that was opened by a well-known BG shill who is a Senior member and has the possibility of giving karma points.

It would be good to take a look at the karma logs, maybe you'll find something interesting.

You're right, that user follows the same pattern as the previous one, using images instead of text to "talk" about BG.

The user has received a 20% warning (the first) so we will wait to see how he reacts.

I see which Sr. Member you are referring to, I will follow that user's next moves.

Also #trashed the relevant posts. You're right this is the exact same style as a previous user or two. In reality it's probably a lot more effective shilling technique given the use of logos for branding awareness etc. It's also an attempt to normalise the idea that screenshots from cyrpto sites would usually be from this exchange.... which just isn't the case in reality.

Anyway, have extened watchtime by +5% as usually shills will be quiet for a while after a warning, that's otherwise as far as I can go without triggering moderation which is not my intent here.

I have noticed some users who are posting like one or two lines! Not sure why, maybe trying to increase the post counts by responding with generic comments!

The penalties you will face for shistposting includes:

• Negative karma given to you by members of the forum as well as moderators

Or you can give -karma and move along. Ideally don't repeatedly give negative karma as that could be karma abuse. Instead, if the user continues to shitpost then you should probably report, ie if you feel they deserve more than you have given, then at least other users can give -karma instead of you. I hate to say it but ideally there would be a lot more -karma distribution towards shitposters, as at present it's relatively unregulated, and could otherwise be easily contained. I don't think it's difficult to understand that writing one line replies to rank up can lead to -karma basically.

Ideally just give negative karma and move on.

As far as I can see, that member is the only one who switched from the classic shilling to the signature option - but I don't think it's a coincidence that other profiles that shill BG often appear in his threads.

No, it's not a coincidence. From what I see it seems like they have it planned well. A "high" rank, in this case the Sr. Member, uses a signature, the most appropriate thing for these cases, but drags with it other users who are the ones who commit irregularities and break the rules. And I'm sure we'll see more accounts (the logs have given me some clues) using images instead of text, just as I know there are some "sleeping" accounts waiting to spring into action.

It's not generosity, it's the least I can do for the help you provide to the forum.

100% agree. If you can't post links as a newbie account, you definitely shouldn't be posting images either. It hasn't been an issue until now so can understand why it's not the case at present, in the sense there was no good reason or necessity implement this previously; but given the new shilling tactics it seems like this would solve the issue almost all of the time for the new (multi-) accounts continuing to shill here without mercy. Will past on your suggestion to admin as appears solid to me and similar to blocking the use of the [url] code, it should be easy to replicate with for the [img] code, at least that's my theory.

I think so too, but these are just assumptions because the only possible evidence is hidden in the IP and karma logs, which fortunately you can see. If that "master account" sends karma to his alts accounts, or others who shill BG, I hope he loses that privilege.


@dragononcrypto, if the admin agreed to make such a change, it would prevent abuses not only of potential shilling, but any other abuse that can be done with a picture instead of words. The old saying goes "a picture is worth a thousand words", and someone clearly thought of using that in an inappropriate way.

I am precisely waiting for the next update of the logs to have more information. If that user distributes Karma to users who break the rules, he will lose much more than Karma. He will also lose the privilege of granting it, if I can.

Thanks, was warned on 5th December about shilling already, but hadn't quite noticed the manner in which this user was shilling with images, as well as number of posts.

Ah yes, I should of noticed that user appearing in your report yesterday in the infamous other list that you refer to that remains a state secret.

It looks like there is a user missing a transferable shill badge as well now you mention it.

Edit: They now all have 2 strikes, shill and misbehaving per state secret reasoning.

I can't say with certainty that this is a BG shill because he uses a slightly different tactic than the others - namely, instead of directly mentioning BG, he uses images that clearly show that CEX and often mentions a token that is directly connected to that CEX.

My feeling is that this is still a shill profile that has been successfully hiding under the radar, and I discovered it because it started appearing in topics started by a potential shill who has not yet been fully revealed.

Considering that nothing has changed in the past three weeks and that the user continues to shill in various ways, I think it's time for him to receive an appropriate reward. The links to the social platform he posts are also related to BG.
