I think It is impossible,  I don't believe new crypto can beat Ethereum in the market. Ethereum is always maintainingbits position as number second and the king of smart contract platform. It is really difficult to be.

There are tons of new crypto projects coming out every day, but I don't think any of these projects has what it takes to push Ethereum down from the number 2 spot, although I have seen some nice projects like Polkadot and binance smart chain, but just because they are offering lesser tnx fees, cross chain etc doesn't make them better than Ethereum, so I doubt if any altcoin can the ETH number 2 spot, for me Ethereum is the best altcoin ever created.

There are tons of new crypto projects coming out every day, but I don't think any of these projects has what it takes to push Ethereum down from the number 2 spot, although I have seen some nice projects like Polkadot and binance smart chain, but just because they are offering lesser tnx fees, cross chain etc doesn't make them better than Ethereum, so I doubt if any altcoin can the ETH number 2 spot, for me Ethereum is the best altcoin ever created.

You are right I don't think so. I don't believe new crypto can beat Ethereum.. Ethereum is still the King of altcoin and always be number second on CMC.

For now I think the strongest coins still belong to BTC and ETH. So my prediction to shift his position is impossible. But I don't know if for the next 5 to 10 years, maybe there are many things that can make a different position

we know that nothing is impossible to cryptocurrency. Everything is possible. But this is very difficult to to beat it ethereum. We know that ethereum is second popular coin in cryptocurrency. Every cryptocurrency coin are dependents on bitcoin and ethereum. And would top investors are investment in this coin . So I think this is not to easy.

It's very very difficult to beat Ethereum by any new crypto. PolkaDot can be the next competitor of Ethereum but not enough to beat Ethereum. PolkaDot has a lot of potentiality but this potentiality needs to be implemented in the fields and then we can say what will be the next. Until then, Ethereum is the best altcoins and no competitor has shown any challenge yet for Ethereum.

For price? it is possible that ethereum will lose to other altcoins.

But for Dapps technology and trading volume, Ethereum still stands beside Bitcoin.
There are a lot of new coins looking to try to shift ethereum to the 2nd position, after many ICO scams in 2018, ethereum's position has shifted to 3rd position CMC, but the Ethereum platform has a lot of great projects we heard about with DeFi and Uniswap Exchange , both were successful projects on the ethereum network, which allowed users to trust the ethereum platform again after many fraudulent projects in 2018.

Yes you are right, not easy to catch Ethereum at number second on CMC. Ethereum is so popular and many tokens project still used ERC20 system. I think polkadot will compete to Ethereum at the coming future..

No new currency/coin can beat the ETH because the ETH has a strong demand although ETH can be cross in terms of price but only temporary not permanent because it will take a lot of time for the new coin to become stable like ETH.

In the near future it will be difficult to beat the dominance of Ethereum, the proof is that this Ethereum market capitalist is very much different from number 3 Coinmarketcap.
One more proof is from Bitcoin Cash which was in 2017 when there was a Hard fork, where at that time Bitcoin Cash was included in the top 2 Coinmarketcap but the proof is now Bitcoin Cash is losing again to Ethereum.
