Personally, I don't trade no more, its been very last since i traded last, I was a short term trader then, but to be really successful, the coin you are trading have to have alot of liquidity, If not, then its all a waste of time and effort, long term trades are more suitable with coins with less liquidity but liquidity still have to be enough to be successful too, in all, from my personal experience, both trading strategies are very good, what's most important is that you are in one that works really well for you.

Like you rightly said, I believe there are plenty many Coins/token in the market that are good for long term hodling and also make good profits from them but all you need to do is check and we understand that there will always be individual preferences in project but the list is not limited.

Long-term Hodl is not a long-term trade, but a long-term investment.

Well I think long term trading can be more easier, stress free and more profitable to newbies, why i said it could be more profitable to newbies is because all there will do is just to  buy low and hold for a long period then there sell but for short term trade there need time to always check up on prices and also need knowledge about technical analysis so as to be able to know when to jump in and out of the market.
