It can only be stupid if you sell off your coins at cheaper price or lower than the buying price, during bitcoin on a downtrend scenario because it may result to a big loss to your investments. The best time to sell off is when bitcoin price or crypto had reached the highest peak price to get good profits always.

To be honest I sell crypto when I need the money.  To me only money that is not needed should stay in crypto.  If I decided to keep that money as savings, I wouldn't panic and convert to cash savings, esspecially if I'm down.  Savings are savings, they are not needed, they are extra to save and grow, I would just buy more if the market is down with more savings.  But even with savings if it's a lot of money I think I would just keep it in cash, and buy small amounts of crypto over time.

What is stupid in my opinion is not selling your coin or token when it is 50% or more up then watching it fall down below your purchased price.
