I will say that 2024 was the worst year ....yet!
POW coins are a dying breed, and even if something appears with a new algo that is not ASIC minable it would need an insane price to make up for the lost revenues of ETH moving to POS. Not going to happen, not when everyone is focusing on meme coins.

In my opinion, mining with GPUs will return more than before this year if you manage to have energy at an acceptable price it can still be profitable and then let's not forget that the cards are now also used for AI so their value will grow over time

And no one will launch a new sha-256 coin because it will be seen as a bitcoin clone with no hype and no price future while Scrypt relies on doge popularity and if that goes down so does mining as litecoin is already losing support slowly but surely.

GPU mining can't return unless you have a coin that generates the same reward as ETH did, you can have the cheapest energy and cheapest board, if the reward from using those is 2 cents a day, it's useless.
A Nvidia 4070 ti is making barely 30 cents before electricity, to ROI in a year it would need to be under $120...

I do not see a major launch of any coins for gpu's so it is pretty much a dead era for mining.

I've been mining crypto but i never tried mining in GPUs, because i think ASIC miners are better for efficiency and profitability, but for me GPUs are good if you have cheap electricity fee in your are and mine adaptable coins. If you planning to mine for long-term i suggest to get a ASIC machine than GPU.

GPU mining could totally make a comeback! With 20cent power costs, it might just work for GPUs, especially for coins like ETH classic or DOGE. I'm curious, though, have you tried it yet, or are you waiting for the right coin??

There is no GPU that is profitable at 20 cents per kwh, none!
Even the 4080 is losing half a dollar a day at that price.

Asics might be efficient, but that doesn't mean they are profitable for everything, nor are they available for every coin.
Nobody is going to develop a million dollar Asic assembly live for a coin that has $5k rewards a day.

GPU mining with Doge is no longer profitable since the release of ASIC units for Dogecoin. There are huge spike in network difficulty after they release these Scrypt Miner.

Currently no profitable coins can be mined with GPUs; it seems GPU mining is dying, unlike before every cycle we saw the profitability.

It seems there's a CPU that exists that can make more than $1 a day with RandomX algo. It looks like CPU is way profitable than GPU.
