          -      In fairness to the three meme coins you mentioned, I have been accumulating them little by little, because I have also observed that when the price value of bitcoin rises, they also follow suit. So, this is one of the reasons why I decided to accumulate them little by little.

I agree that there should be some thought used for making any decision since decisions generated without clear grounds usually contribute adding to the existing problem, rather than bringing any solution to it. Nevertheless, even if we have developed a strong strategy we cannot predict outcome with certainty. What matters most is our willingness to look into changes and learn from each of the decisions. Having decisions based on strong foundation we control what is going to happen, although there are a lot of factors to take into consideration. And that is part of the process continuing to adapt to the changing situation.

My pick would always remain Bitcoin because it is sustainable and reliable to start with. However, if looking into altcoin, I would take a dive into old alts in the market that are doing perfectly well for themselves because these new generationl coins are not trusted as majority of them has no value but just shitcoin and nothing to write home about them if we are to take a look into them.

Of course buddy, buying Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies is a personal decision, however everyone needs to set their priorities right, all we can do is advise people on the right coin when it comes to investment purpose and allow them make their decisions, investment in btcoin is something that should be done willingly by every person, not by force nor a do or die affair and if anyone is willing to risk buying other coins they feel could give them profits in a short period then it's their choice as well, but the main joke is when someone is buying bitcoin with the idea of taking profits in a short period, such person would likely be disappointed and end up calling bitcoin a scam.

Layer 1s like SOL and BNB are sovereign ecosystems now. ETH is still too complicated, but it's the only one that has institutional support and a mindset of change

Memecoins are really messed up when the trend has changed and many of the memecoins that appear then just disappear.
But some that have survived and continue to evolve prove that they are capable of evolving and delivering new innovations with powerful and useful communities and utilities.

So whatever the choice is whether it is the top coin or memecoin, it is your own responsibility and make sure everything has been analyzed in as much detail as possible before investing

I also prefer diversification, it’s the best strategy. Bitcoin is the best option for long term investments. Diversifying into top Layer 1s like ETH and SOL for long term is also a great idea as they both have strong ecosystems. Lately, memecoins have also caught my attention especially with the how much they’ve been growing especially the resilient ones, Doge and Shiba Inu. Personally, I’d be on the lookout for emerging narratives too, just in case the next big one shows up.

It's a wrong idea to diversify into assets of the same line. That's as you are investing in bitcoin, bitcoin is the king and unique of all so why do you want to diversify into altcoins that are been controlled by bitcoin price movement. If bitcoin dips, alcoins dip and that's a double loss. It's good that you diversify into a different asset like gold, stock, bond or real estate. The main reason for diversity is to spread out your wealth into various assets so that if one of the isn't doing well in price, the other can balance the loss.

Investing on the the same line of crypto coin besides Bitcoin is not bad idea. Bitcoin actually control the crypto market but most times, there are many altcoins out there that break out from the dominance.
Often times, certain altcoins makes some bullish movement that offers good profit, especially when some whales decide to trade/invest on them which has been known to drives some altcoins short tern rally.
As a matter of facts, many notable altcoins has great potential for investments along side Bitcoin any day, and I think it shouldn't be discouraged in my opinion.

OP, what you said is correct for someone to own a fair portion of Bitcoin for the long term and diversify in other coins if they have spare cash.

In my own case, my portfolio is made up of 80% bitcoin and 20% altcoin. I can gladly say that my investment in Bitcoin has being profitable, than altcoins. Even though I intend to sell some part of my Bitcoin holdings and all of my altcoin holdings in this bull run.

If you want to make a profit in long-term investment, investing in Bitcoin is definitely the best. Those who are reviewing the market must understand why Bitcoin should be chosen to hold. If you have the ability, then I would definitely recommend for Bitcoin investment. Those who want to diversify can keep investing in top alt coins, particularly Ether, BNB and Sol Coin. Bitcoin always has the widest and highest space in the realm of cryptocurrency investment. I am sure, if we prioritize the long term, then we will much prefer Bitcoin to be an asset for our long-term investment in the crypto space (not real life). Because indeed, we already believe in the value of Bitcoin, with how investors trust Bitcoin, even in bearish times, this still continues to support Bitcoin.

Unless they want a short-term period with high risks, that's different again, because the focus is already high risk-high return. But if it's for the long term, BTC is the answer. And if you are going to invest some in altcoins, ah really, this is really very risky compared to BTC> but, at least we have to pick the top altcoins.
