Is it possible to lose your coin for choosing the wrong wallet?

Every coin has its own Blockchain and compatible wallet. ERC20 wallets supports all Ethereum based coins but do not support coins built on the STEEM, EOS, etc Blockchain. Sending coins to the incompatible wallet will lead to the lost of the coin.

Therefore, do not send coins to an address that is not for the coin because it will immediately lose the coins you have. Be more careful in sending coins.

It you refer to a sending to an exchange you should be able to recover the tokens.
But if you send from a wallet to another, it is possible.

If your sending tokens into the wallet you need to check first if it is compatible so that you can avoid losing of tokens,if ERC20 you need to send ERC20 tokens only check properly because their are some tokens that is different smartcontract.
