Yes, Bitcoin seems to control the crypto market because it gives a big influence on the trend in crypto market. Just look at the effect of the bullish in Bitcoin, it triggers other coins to soar as well. Although the impacts don't apply to the altcoins quickly, but the impacts are real to influence them.

No. the BTC cannot control the market but BTC can define the market. The volatility of BTC enhances the chance to up and down so easily. But it doesn't mean that BTC controls the market. it is a different choice right here and we can see the volatility of the coins to trade including BTC

You are right but on the other hand we still can't deny the fact that bitcoin plays the big part everytime it goes down and it goes up.  Most of the time when the price dumped and rise back the price of some certain coins couldn't make to recover after the effect of bitcoin's downfall.

Yeah bitcoin control the market. If you look at the market, you will see that if btc is pumped, the whole market is pumped and if btc is dumped, the whole market is dumped. Thats why I believe bitcoin control the market.

I think that controlling the market is not bitcoin but depends on the balance of supply and demand according to market laws. When cryptocurrency is in demand, the price will rise and vice versa when demand is low, the price will fall. Rapid changes in the balance of supply and demand cause price volatility. Any drastic movement in the chart encourages traders to buy or sell.
