The long standing bear market is largely due to the governmental attacks that rose to the peak early this year (2018) because Bitcoin hit the $20k mark. The governments were afraid of the power Bitcoin was gaining and decided to create more FUD by restricting and banning it in some countries.
The market will recover once the attacks subsides or its over, thus when most of the governments retrace their statements.

what you say is true, the market now has a very long bear market, this is because FUDs from the government are afraid of cryptocurrency, because all this can change the social, economic and even governmental order.
but after all they can't do crypto like this continuously, crypto will rise and break the barrier door to grow.
