By now I guess you should know that there is no way that XRP will be better than Ethereum, the fact that Ethereum slip to third position at a point in time does not mean Xrp is better than Ethereum, one thing about Ethereum is that, it has been able to stand the test of time.

Many a times i have said that XRP is never better than ETH. For few days, ETH went down at rank 3 but ETH is such a coin that is considered as the best altcoin ever. It is the second most popular and used coins after BTC.

I think Ethereum and XRP both are good coins.These are very promising coin and huge potential.also most ICO projects used ethereum payment system and most ICOs use Eth technology for tokens creating and XRP is based on banking sector.now many banks using xrp technology.

Ethereum have climb to regain the number 2 spot in the market cap. I think ethereum still the rightful owner of the no.2 spot and can be seen through the years. Today, ethereum blockchain still the.home of many newly project to use the ethereum platform. Unless, the trend will not change ethereum will still hold that spot and will continue to be the king of ICO/IEO.

Of course, ethereum will always be better than ripple. Ripple is a centralized coin and can pump up its level of capitalization. Therefore, it can take the second position in the CoinMarketCap table for some time. However, since the last time, ripple's capitalization has fallen and is holding down about ten billion dollars.

For me, ETH is much better than XRP with a lot of advantages and multi-functions. If you want to choose one of them, then I suggest ETH for sure.
