I believe nobody or very few if somebody really knows who Satoshi Nakamoto is and so does why he/she/they remained anonymous but I think it is better that Satoshi Nakamoto is anonymous. Bitcoin isn't the first digital currency that was ever made, have you ever heard of e-gold? It is a digital currency that operates with gold and silver, like bitcoin as time passed it gained popularity and it even reached US$2 billion worth of spends per year but unfortunately the US saw its threats and attacked their leaders by charging them various charges and then e-gold shuts down because of that. Since Satoshi Nakamoto is anonymous governments can't target him to shutdown bitcoin and the best that they could do is to ban Bitcoin in their country.

Most of the people here in crypto world believes that Satoshi Nakamoto is a pseudoname used by the creator or creators of bitcoin. Reason of doing so is likely to protect his/their true identity as well as their family/families.

You know, would he be well known, he'd probably be an idol in minds of many people. The type of idol governments sacrifice when something goes wrong. Think about it. He had the option of staying anonymous - and used it, and it turned out to be great. That's what we should do when it's possible and the opposite has no pros good enough to overweigh the cons.

Maybe he wants to protect his self from danger,  specially his family,, what if he uses other name now.?  He can do that,  he had a lot of money,  maybe he was there always observing the bitcoin,  but he don't want to be famous so he could still have a private life.

For security purpose, The owner or creator of bitcoin choose to be anonymous because he is protecting his/her/their self from the people who targets the bitcoin.

i think it is only his username also not a real name maybe because he just hiding his indentity to protect himself as well as his family well i think only few people knows about Satoshi Nakamoto
