In the part about censorship resistance, he drops this gem:

Maybe in a few years, we will come to the conclusion that we should separate money from the state for the same reason we separated the church from the state

I don't know how it is in other countries, but here in the EU, many countries have contracts with the Vatican that guarantee that the states pay the church every year sums of money that are not insignificant. I think that the Catholic Church in my country receives somewhere around EUR 40 million from the state budget every year.
In Brazil, churches do not pay any Taxes at all

No matter that the idea seems interesting, I wonder who would control the finances in that case - because if there is no central bank and other regulatory institutions, what would the financial system of a country look like?

Bitcoin.

There are some countries which uses usd directly. Panama, Ecuador..  so, it can workout without a central printing.

Forum related / Re: Why is this common here.
« Last post by Freemind on Today at 07:06:32 PM »
I have created topics on this forum and also the btt forum, usually for discussions that I feel less confident will bring interesting discussions, it crossed my mind to embed that word. Yes, maybe in a slightly different way with the aim of allowing other people to reply to each other on the topic created to produce lots of answers from various views. Until now, I have never felt that this closing word is widely used in this forum (or maybe there are certain subforums where many users use this word but I don't read it).

And I feel disturbed by embedding these words in the topic being created. I consider it a good effort to get useful replies even if the points raised by the person providing the answer are only a few.

Whether or not a topic has more acceptance and more interaction from users is normal, since although we always talk about cryptocurrencies, some users may be more interested in some things than others, that's not a problem. The "problem" is creating a thread to abandon it, knowing that the OP is not going to respond or give their own point of view. Before, some users could say that they could not control all the threads they had created, but now, with the notification bot that is no longer an excuse.

Nigerian Languages / Re: USDT vs Bitcoin
« Last post by SmartGold01 on Today at 07:06:12 PM »
I don't think it is because USDT is a stablecoin and that is why the network is very fast. But it is because the traffic is like much since it is not volatile like bitcoin. Stablecoins are not really too good for people because they think that it would not give them any profit because it is in one one place for a very long time. People like to keep coins in USDT for selling or buying so that they would not lost in the process.
There is no need for the comparison of bitcoin to USDT because it does not worth it. USDT is stable and centralized, and that is why it is still the same with fiat usd. Bitcoin might have one or two challenges in fees due to mempool congestion, but that does not mean that it should be compared with vegetables.
Usdt is mostly used to secure investment especially when trader are trading and there is market fluctuations like uncalled dip at this point the trader can easily stop trading and secure their funds in exchange using usdt or any stable coin on exchange such dai, usdc and any other currency that serves as stablecoin. I don't they should be compared together because both has no similarities and one is centralized while the other is decentralized currency.

General Discussion / Re: Do you think the earth is flat?
« Last post by jesuschrist! on Today at 07:00:28 PM »
If the Earth is round, is anything actually flat? Is a plateau a real thing? You could literally question just about anything in existence and have a legitimate argument without ever being completely right or wrong.

Some people especially the conspiracy theorist like Alex jones believe so.  But if you ask about flat, just look at water. The principle is that water always find the shape of a flat either in a glass of water, lake or the sea. Water is always flat.  Just think about us in the middle of a flat water and the continents are floating.

And then ask how can god make us flood when the earth is round?

Cryptocurrency discussions / Insights into AI's Role in the Metaverse
« Last post by JeydderS on Today at 06:56:13 PM »
Hey guys, I was just thinking abt this whole AI x Metaverse concept n wanted to get your thoughts.

So here's what's been on my mind lately, with more and more projects starting to build AI capabilities in2 their metaverse platforms, do you think this fusion could end up being the "next big thing"?

Some people are already saying AI is going to be hugely disruptive on its own. But if you layer advanced AI systems into immersive virtual worlds and experiences, who knows how game-changing that could be?

Anyways, i saw this one project that's developing intelligent AI avatars n virtual assistants 4 the metaverse. Imagine having a smart AI companion that can understand you, learn your preferences, nd guide you thru these boundless digital realms.

What's your take on all this, fam? Do you envision the AI x Metaverse fusion catalyzing the next big boom in crypto and tech? Or am I just getting ahead of myself here?

The last game for the end of the season :)
I think most of us would agree that Manchester City will lift the premier league trophy this season unless a miracle happens, I mean West Ham will win this game.
Win against Tottenham was the key, and it was a great performance from City and Halaand, a great goal that not only sealed the three points but also put Erling Haaland in pole position to retain the premier league golden Boot.

If Son really had score that goal, it's not what we are talking here we will be talking right now, that was the first time Manchester City was making goal in goal in Tottenham since past many seasons but luckily they did it yesterday, one was goal and the other was penalty but before that penalty was awarded, if Sun has scored that goal, it will change the game and Manchester City wouldn't have had opportunity.

Arsenal faith is decided and I think they have to try again next time, though I think other clubs like Liverpool were once In Arsenal shoe but Guardiola is just destiny to break Premier League statistics.

Crypto gaming (GameFi) / Re: Thoughts on Notcoin hype so far.
« Last post by JeydderS on Today at 06:54:12 PM »
Hmm. It's just now that I have heard of it but it's interesting if it's about being mined in Telegram. I don't know how much it impacts the market with that. I do hope that I have gotten early on it as well but it's just what happens in life.

It's not listed on Coingecko yet but maybe we can try to get around it or something? But I know it's a meme coin right?

I don’t think its a memecoin. It’s a token under the ton ecosystem

Things like this usually happens in a big event, burst of emotion but like you said that he should be the one composed as he is the senior of the team. He should thank to the Ukrainian lad for not reporting this event as that might the reason of his deportation from Saudi.

The fight will be this weekend and no movement so far in the betting odds, Fury is still the slight favorite.

Though i have not bet yet but definitely i would go for the bigger guy, Tyson Fury.

The Furys tried to bully Usyk's team, as we all saw on the video; he was the first to instigate the attack, but Usyk's team did not retaliate. It is always like this: whenever the Fury has a huge fight, the Fury family is all over their opponent, and since this is a winner-take-all all match, John Fury wants
to impose their will on the other team.
John Fury doesn't have to do this. His son is already the favorite, so he should leave the fight between the two fighters and stop being a stage father like Bill Haney.
