Gambling discussion / Re: [NBA] Unofficial Discussion Thread

Next is the Mavs vs Wolves, although Luka is not 100%,  I think the Mavs are going to close this game out as well and score a clean sweep. ML for Mavs is @1.82 currently. That is a great bet in my opinion.

I have betted for the Mavs on this game bro and right now we have an exciting game with a tie score at the end of the first half. The good thing for the Mavs is that the big 3 of the Wolves got 3 fouls each and this might affect their game in the second half.

Unfortunately, even if the big 3 of the Wolves was in foul trouble, they were able to escape with a big win as they hit clutch after clutch. And it looks like KAT and ANT took it personally in this game as they goes back to their old self, first time in the series.

Luka though has that 3 plus a foul. But he blunder the free throw that supposedly cut the lead into 2 and they will have to foul and force the Wolves to hit 2 to secure the win. So we are back to the Wolves homecourt next and so we will have to wait who will go to the finals against the Celtics. Although statistically, no one has come back from a 3-0 deficit in the playoffs in the NBA. But let's see what the Wolves can bring in the next game.
He already did it twice. Once against the Thunder and once against the Timberwolves. He missed 2 crucial free throws in the whole playoffs that could've change everything.

I really thought that he will destroy his jersey again like what he was always doing in the past to release his frustration to himself. Luckily, he didn't, but I know the feeling of you have an opportunity to decrease the lead, but your free throw didn't go in. D Anyway, I'll just think that even though he will sink that free throw, the lead will cut down to 2, then Minnesota will make those 2 free throws to increase their lead by 4 and its game over, so I guess hitting or missing that free throw will not matter that much.

If the Timberwolves will lose on this one, it will be Gobert's fault :D. Kidding aside, I hope that the Wolves will force this into a Game 7.

P.S. Have any of you been in similar situations? If yes, please share your story. It will be helpful for others.
Correct me, but isn't this the infamous one that happened months ago?
I can't remember it my apologies.

Anyway, like I always say, learning really is very costly. Here, it costs the investor $68 Million to learn something. :D Learning is expensive - very expensive that's why for those who saw this attack, learn how to secure your wallet, and double or even triple check the address that you are sending with. If possible, look by letter/number and don't just look at the first 5 and the final 5 symbols of the address.

I hope this will be the first, and last time that this happens (I doubt it will :D).

Last year it was Cheems and now this Kabosu.
I'm a pet lover too, especially in dogs which it's sad to know when they passed away.

Do you think this will have an impact on the DOGEcoin price?  I'm not a memecoins lover, but I think those with a Dogecoin might try to watch the market price.
As long as DOGE remains on top, Kabosu will be remembered for sure.

As for the DOGE's price, it has been at least 4 days since Kabosu's passing, but it didn't have any effect towards the price of DOGE. With this, I might buy some DOGE when the bear market comes just to show support for the coin and joining the community as well. I don't want to invest in meme coins in general, but DOGE is an exception on it. :)

Meme Coins / Re: $X a meme inspired My Elon's X
« on: May 29, 2024, 04:32:23 AM »

It's 100% community-driven, with 100,000+ addresses holding the coin. Initially valued at 2.1M, it has grown to exceed 13M. $X symbolizes connection and empowerment, and its community-driven approach embodies the true spirit of decentralization. What you think about $X do you think it might just gain Elon attention and be the Next Doge?
A meme coin that just created just because the developers got inspired by Elon Musk's Twitter?
It's a no-no for me.

It's a no-no for me, but I'm not saying that the project is a scam. It's just that, I don't think that a meme coin is a good investment for me. I don't invest in meme coins that's inspired by some influencers or some animals out there. I will invest in a coin that has utility. Meme coins are mostly community-driven like this coin is. I just hope that the "community" is loyal enough to keep the token afloat hence, making it a successful project.

Anyway, good luck with those who will invest in the project. Like what others are saying, "A project will not be a scam unless they will do it", so I will not say that the project is a scam, but just beware and be ready for the worst thing that can happen.

I would not consider it a full time job, as one can do bounty hunting with hour or two daily, so it can also be done aside from the main job that you may have.

But if you are only in crypto or on forums (bitcointalk/altscointalk), you will likely fail, interest in the crypto sector there must be. Without this interest your content won't come of as genuine and BMs will hesitate to hire you.
If we are in 2017 then maybe, just maybe some can consider it as a full-time job "TEMPORARILY" while finding for another job. I mean if you don't have a job at that time, putting some effort in bounty hunting that time might help you at least pay some bills because in 2017, bounty hunting is at its peak thus, many bounty hunters are earning hundreds or even thousands of dollars just by advertising the project in different ways.

Now in 2024, there are 2 scenarios that I think always happens. It's either they will not pay you any tokens at all, or if they will pay you, that token will either be worthless or if it will have a value, it will not be worth it compared to the time that you gave. Overall, it isn't worth it anymore. Well, there might still be some bounty hunters out there who are still continuing to join bounties, but they still have a full-time job. Bounty hunting as a full-time job? Just forget about it. :D

Re: Trump Supporting Bitcoin, Crypto
Cryptocurrency will survive even though Trump will not advertise it.
Will Trump win if he will not use cryptocurrency? If yes, then why he is always saying it on all of his campaigns? I mean not all, but most.

Trump is just using cryptocurrency to increase his popularity. He knows that there are many people in US that are into crypto, and he wants to manipulate those people by stating positive things that are related to Bitcoin. There are times where he is an anti-crypto and now, he can't keep his words, and turning against it already? Not a fan of politics overall, but always take note that there will be and always be people (specifically those senators) that will be against him and all of the things that Trump wants to implement.

Well, I guess he's the clear favorite to win in this election. They don't want that dementia-filled Biden anymore as OP said. :D

a good list of AI coins that are developing at the moment, but I personally still doubt this coin will welcome the bullrun this session,
All 4 of them will increase in token price in the upcoming bull run that's for sure.
Alongside that, their price will dump as well when the bull run ends. :D

Doesn't matter if it's an AI coins, or an NFT-related token like in 2021, all of them will go up during the bull run and will fall down during the bear market season. I'm thinking of investing into these AI related tokens, but I can't think of any because I don't see any project that can do what AI is doing right now. Nevertheless, it's good that there are some AI altcoins that are becoming popular, and I expect for them to develop more for the future. :)

Since AI and RWA seems like the popular categories as of now, beware of the scammers because they will steal your money for sure. :D

I'm still a little new to this so just thought to ask here, how familiar are you folks with pre-market offers? I've seen a new token I'd like to buy but for now it's only available on pre-market basis.
~
I'm not familiar with pre-market offers, but the fact that you said that it's between buyers and sellers, and there's no official price with that token is already a red flag for me, and I would avoid it if I were you.

Always take note that the price of the token of a new project always goes down regardless of what project it is. As soon as the token gets listed, it's price immediately goes down because those holders will sell it to take profit. Developers can set the price that they want, and all the time, that's a very high listing price. I would suggest to just stay away from it, and just wait for it to get listed on an exchange with its actual price.

The only message to those investors is that success in the crypto space requires patience. Even if it is not good for us at the time we are expecting, we can get more than that expectation in the future. Of course, investors must have a long-term plan before investing.
This isn't only applicable with cryptocurrency, but in investing in general.

Being patient, is good but it isn't enough to be successful in investing. You can be patient, but in the end, you might see a huge dip in the market causing you to make bad decisions and sold your holdings. Be patient but at the same time, be good in decision-making. That's what will help you become successful. Not only those 2, but for me those are 2 of the 3 traits that all investors have. What's the 3rd one? Being disciplined.

Investing in long-term not only in crypto, but with different asset classes will give you much more profits. It depends on what type of asset you bought, but if you bought those safer assets like the index funds, Bitcoin, etc. in the long run you really will make profit. Long-term is the key. :)

Basic Questions about Cryptos / Re: How to do basic research?
« on: May 28, 2024, 02:55:33 AM »
Yeah, no matter how big the company is, no matter how promising the project seems, it is still a new project and has to compete with hundreds of thousands of other crypto projects in this harsh market to survive. I would not dare to put my faith in a project like that if it is not well-promoted, does not have a transparent team, and does not have a large investment fund backing it. We have many new and successful projects to choose from in this cycle, there is no reason to risk our capital on a project that has not yet gained a foothold in the market.

Investing in top coins is always a safer, more time-saving and easier option. The profits from a completely new project can be very large if it is successful, but the risks are extremely high, to the point where investors could lose all their capital. I do not encourage new investors to participate in such investments.
Nowadays, having a large investment coming from big companies is a factor already on whether that new project will be a successful one or not... or at least the token of the project will have a value. We've seen new projects that are being backed by Binance, and in exchange, they might be getting a portion of a total supply of the token. What's good in this one as well is that they will be listed on the most popular exchange as well through Launchpads at first.

I've seen projects being backed by popular investors, projects being that promising enough, projects that can be attractive to investors for some reasons, projects that have detailed whitepapers, and they are ending up as a scam project. I don't know if it's only me, but I don't invest into new projects anymore because like you said, it still needs to compete with other projects with the same category as that project, and they still need to prove that they're different from the ones that are existing already.

Also, you said that investing in top coins is safer than investing in new projects and that's true that's why that is what I'm doing currently. Investing into top coins saves more time doing research compared to researching those new projects. It also reduces the risk since they already have a huge market cap. Although it doesn't change the fact that even though they are at the top, there's a chance that they will rug pull their investors, at least investing into the top coins lessens the risk.

Pacers are not coming back from this, not with Haliburton injured. If ever, they can only extend this by one game and the Celtics will finish them at home. Too bad it'll end early because I expected more from this series.

Yeah, impossible for them to come back from that 0-3 hole without their star guard Haliburton. If only Haliburton was not injured, i think the Pacers could give the Celtics a good fight as they are a very good team when playing at home. I expect that this series would be 2-2 after game 4 but with all the happenings, there might be a chance that this could be a sweep.
Well, their all-star guard will be out for Game 4 because of that sore left hamstring injury:
https://www.espn.ph/nba/story/_/id/40230555/pacers-rule-tyrese-haliburton-game-4-vs-celtics

With him being out in Game 3, I expect that the game will end up in a blowout, but it wasn't. Nembhard stepped up on that game and scored his career high. With Haliburton out, I know that he's still a young player, but I expect him to play the same as he played in Game 3 if not even better, and aside from him, I also expect other players to step up as well like Siakam, and Turner especially on the offense. I mean Indiana doesn't want to get swept on their own home, right. :D

Anyway, it's kind of risky, but I'm thinking of betting on the Pacers in this game. :D Anybody here who also put their money on Pacers as well?

What about esport then? All those DotA, Counter-Strike and sport related video games. People really spend lot of time training, have competitions with prizes, champions. If you google the word sport, you will get Sport is a form of physical activity or game. Often competitive and organized, sports use, maintain, or improve physical ability and skills. Perfect description of what people do behind pc or console while playing. If we measure sport that is something where physical activity is used, then they use finger muscles and get tired to play. Also a 100% hit.

Sports are physical activities. Video games don't make you get tired physically nor require strength or physicality. You can't get injured from playing video games.
The difference is clear.
While the definition of sports based on a quick google search is "competitive physical activities or games", there's a thing called E-sports right now, and until now, it's still debatable if E-sports can be considered a form of sport or not.

Well, there are some institutions that consider E-sports as a form of sport already, so I guess we can change the definition of sport now? :D I'm a bit bias on this one because I'm a gamer and I spend hours playing online games.

I'm browsing to my Facebook just a few minutes ago, and this is what I will see.

Popular dog Kabosu, the face of dogecoin and several other meme tokens, died early Friday, his owner wrote in a blog post. He was over 17 years old.
“We will be holding a farewell party for Kabo-chan on Sunday, May 26th . It will be held at Flower Kaori in Kotsu no Mori, Narita City, from 1pm to 4pm,” the blog reads.
I'm not holding any DOGE or any meme coin, but I felt sad for this news just because I'm a dog lover. Hats off to the main faces of the first and most popular meme coin which is DOGE. Without Kabosu, dog-related meme coins will not exist at all.

I like over 224.5 more than I like taking the points tonight. Game is either going to be Boston by alot or Indiana wins. Don't feel like there is any middle ground here. Nembhard, Haliburton, Turner and others are going to have to be hitting their 3 pointers. Going to need a decent game out of Siakim as well, he needs to be a rebounding machine and control the paint.
If Haliburton will play in Game 3, there's a chance that Indiana will win in both Games on their home.
Apparently, he suffered a sore left hamstring injury in the 3rd quarter causing him to not return until the end of the game. I believe that the game might be closer if he just played, but I just hope that he will recover and will play in both of their home games to increase their chances.

Just for context, the Pacers are 1-12 all-time in the playoffs when they are down 0-2 and 1-8 in a best of 7 series. This might mean a lot especially when they are up against a team that may believe to win it all this year. The problem with the Pacers is that they might be one of the best offensive teams during the regular season, but they are also one of the worst defensive teams as well. They are giving up too many points to their opponent, and with a team like Celtics, they will take advantage of that weakness of them.

Anyway, I still believe that the Pacers will at least win on their home, but they will not win in this series. Not against a team like Boston. :)

Anything can happen. I see 3 scenarios

1) Jake will start running and making Mike tired. He will try to use his age advantage. In late rounds he will do some damage to slowed Mike. Probably Mike will have a cut. And it will be a Jake winning by split decision
2) Jake will start with furious actions from very start. His goal will be to surprise Mike, who hasnt been in real fight for years. With enough unaswered punches, Jake could take some rounds (especially if he manages to daze Mike), and then survive till the end and win by decision.
3) Mike, as more experienced, will block avoid and wait, and later land either a body punch and win by TKO, or will win by TKO after Jake would had two knockdowns in one rounds. I really doubt that ref will allow a clear knockout, and Jake would be so silly to walk with hands down against such a striker.
Well, whatever happens with the 3 scenarios that you shared, one thing is for sure.
Both fighters will be happy in the end because they will be paid big time, and fans will be happy to see their idol fighting each other. :D

Kidding aside, I wonder if Mike Tyson can survive the whole fight, and winning by decision. I believe that his stamina is low compared to Jake Paul because of his age like you said. I know that Tyson is a strong fighter, but that was "IN HIS PRIME". Yes, we are seeing videos of him online showing that he can fight Jake Paul and potentially win, but I still believe that "AGE MATTERS" and Jake Paul isn't like an amateur, but he has an experience in boxing already (although not that much compared to Tyson).

But between the 3 scenarios that you shared; I will go with the 4th one which is "Jake Paul will win by TKO". :D
