There were news that some of coins were fake and more victims fallen.
Let us take a look at this scam issues back on 2019.
# In 2019 alone, cybercriminals were able to siphon away $4.26 billion from cryptocurrency users and exchanges, according to a new report
by CipherTrace.
# BITPoint, a cryptocurrency exchange in Japan, suffered one of the biggest scams this year, losing $28 million in July.
# Six people were arrested in the Netherlands and the UK over a $27 million "typosquatting" scam, which involved making a fake website to gain access to user Bitcoin wallets.
# Binance, one of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges, had $40 million of bitcoin stolen in May.

Do not easily believe the hardcap and huge money in return for you.
Take note: we should consider the good outcome not just for the project but also for yourself.
I hope this 2020 is less scam. I cannot say "I hope no scam" because i think it is impossible.

I think what you have said is more about theft or hacking. Crypto is known by almost everyone. Obviously more attacks on exchanges. Moreover, their security is not improved. Even binance can lose their assets.

Regulations are a must to get rid of scam but it will not be easy and fast. This technology is pretty new and there are tons of gaps.
I think people should be informed more and well about this new technology. Social media should also be controlled better, tons of scammers are using social media...

Right. Wherever it is, don't trust anyone. Bad people are everywhere. We can only avoid it. Hardcap is a powerful mode to lure people. Especially if there is news that will soon be listed in a large exchange. There must be a lot of people who want to buy tokens.

Scams are really outnumbered the quality projects these days and people tend to invest in this scammy projects which is not good. But this 2020, I think the outcome will be less scam projects as people already learned from their past mistakes. They already learn how to research the project they want to invest.

There is nothing to be done, too many more scammers are creating cryptocurrency companies to collect as much money as possible and then simply disappear with this money, but many governments are already struggling with this and soon there will be much less scammers.

What should we do now? even those top and high caliber crypto exchange platforms are being victimized by hacking. how about us the ordinary cryptocurrency users, BTW those summary of reports that you mentioned are happening in different situation others are losing money because of hacking, while others from exit scam ICO's and many other forms of fraudulent activities. Because cryptocurrency is using the internet the vulnerability remains high since no system is perfect all was subjected to flaws and errors. others also become a victim from Phishing websites. we as crypto users also responsible for the safety of our funds that's why we should observe vigilance all the time.

Yes, it is. Greed will make somebody feel a lack of money and they want more again. Moreover, they can gain big money from scamming. Additionally, they do it because there is a chance, chance and they got the victims. Therefore, we must be more careful and smarter when choosing certain project. Never follow only the hype without doing your own research.

Somehow that way there is always the word "SCAM" in the project, maybe because of the decentralization that is difficult to control by traders so that developers suffer losses and this is difficult to develop further.

I have enough trust to participate in bounty campaigns but often do not have enough trust to invest in those projects.
The ICO failures gave me enough experience to know that there are no assets that are easy to get. x10 or x100 is just such a great opportunity that even the project team can't imagine it :)

Why not believe in crypto? We only need to avoid to follow Hype or Fomo. Crypto is a good thing and it is very helpful as a new digital asset. But following hype or Fomo isn't a good thing, especially if you don't really understand about it. We need to do our own research and analysis to determine whether it deserves to join or not.

But Most of the scamming is happening in phishing email, fake sites by scammers. It is impossible you can not stop scamming. Theyre every where.

Yes, scammers ruin the name of cryptocurrency. Good to be with crypto ecosystem having a responsibility like a job but unfortunately the project is scam. Heart broken mate because you consume time and effort to gain nothing, waste of time.

I prefer to buy altcoins that have entered the top 10 ranking which is proven to have high trading volume.

Yeah there were dozens and dozens of scams and fake projects some never even intented to develop a project so basically these projects aim to collect money and escape but i see that some of those people are now trialed in courts so hopefully this scam culture will come to an end because people will know that they will be caught and punished.

Scammers are always active in all the places all the time. We have experienced different times the scamming in this market. Few months ago Spire-X has flew away with cheating a lot of people. So, we should always be concern against such scammer and never should easily believe all the cryptos.

Yes, you have a point here, most of the IEOs are arranged in some these exchanges, after successful token sale they dump the coin and run away. IEOs may be more hardly hit from scammers and could be worst than ICOs. I am so disappointed with the ways IEOs are been manege, it seems there are compromise between some of these exchanges with scammers.

I definitely agree that we should be vigilant especially when crypto is involved. Criminals and scammers exploit the decentralized nature of cryptocurrency thus making their scam/criminila activity looks legit. We must do our diligent research when thinking of venturing the crypto industry. We must do our best to be knowledgeable about the ventures being offered to us so that we can avoid uncertain things in the future.
