We all are witnessing a never ending dump in the crypto market as of now, but at the same time this could be an opportunity to get the best cryptos at the bottom low.
As I am quite new to crypto currencies.. can I have your picks of the top coins in which money could be put in, for a holding period of at least six months.
Thanks in advance.

I think ETH has the potential.
-
i think Cosmos (ATOM) its the best offer now

In the cryptocurrency world, there are many different coins that are worth investing in. Some of the coins that could be good buys now are Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Litecoin. Ethereum is a coin that is known for its smart contracts and its ability to run decentralized applications. Bitcoin is a coin that is known for its volatility and its ability to be used as a means of payment. Litecoin is a coin that is known for its fast transaction times and its ability to be used as a means of payment and as a means of storing value.

There are numerous cryptocurrencies available for investment in the crypto world. Currently, Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Litecoin are among the top choices. Ethereum stands out for its smart contracts and decentralized application capabilities. Bitcoin, on the other hand, is famous for its volatility and its usefulness as a payment method. Lastly, Litecoin is renowned for its speedy transactions and its dual functionality as a payment method and a store of value.

I can give you a good number of top coins to invest in but I can't assure you of how profitable they will be in six months, since you are thinking of hodl them for a short interval.
Investing in crypto is all about taking risks and if you are willing to take the risk, you can start by investing in bitcoin, ethereum, bnb, XRP, or bitcoin ordinal. You can choose for yourself on coinmarketcap.com. But anyone you choose, remember to DYOR before investing and invest with your spare money, not emergency money

The current market conditions make it possible to expect profit by buying any coin. It can be assumed or understood that the market will rise further from the current state of the market. If you only plan to invest in ALT coins then you can invest in Ethereum. Ethereum is a very reliable and trustworthy coin among al t coins so if you can invest in this coin then this coin will give you a lot of profit in the future. Currently the price of an Ethereum is probably $2500 so if you can buy an Ethereum now and hold that Ethereum for some time then maybe after a few days it is possible to get a profit of 500 dollars from Ethereum. There is a possibility that the price of Ethereum will go to $3000 very quickly, so you can invest in Iftari Mango with that possibility.

Most of top altcoins are good options to hold for few months. But you need to choose the top coins that have strongest fundamentals and they are not meme coins or stablecoins. For examples: ETH, BNB, SOL, ADA, TRX, DOT, MATIC, XLM, HBAR, ARB, APT, ALGO. These altcoins deserve to consider for buying and holding until the altcoins season. If you checked the current news of these altcoins, there are some good news, too. The good news will easily push the price to skyrocket.

If I am to answer this? maybe my best buy at least in this moment more than a year after OP asked this is
Solana and Ripple because Solana have proven its capacity to make its way up even without the Bull market starting so that is given.
Then Ripple to be the next contender because there are more pending increase for this altcoin after what
have experienced in the last SEC case they have faced .
so for now it is a waiting but eventually will give a best result so decide which and what to invest.

I don't think Ripple should be considered as a promising cryptocurrency for the future. If you invest in XRP, your money might be stored for a long time without any movement. Ripple is a cryptocurrency created by a bank, which means it's centralized. This goes against the very purpose of cryptocurrencies, which is to be decentralized.
It is better to recommend investing in top coins such as SOL, ETH, BNB, MATIC, LTC, ARB, and Bitcoin, allocating the highest percentage of investment to Bitcoin.

Why not? Do you think XRP is a shit coin with no fundamental?
If you can't see the improvement of XRP price, it is too much. There is already good improvement of XRP price after a huge dump due to bad issue with SEC. Now, it looks like XRP seems to start increasing again because they can ensure the investors to have no more problems with SEC. With this positive progress, how can you claim XRP to have no future? :-\

Those coins you stated above are surely good coins. But I don't think it is a bad idea if other people want to invest in XRP, too. However, it is better to diversify our crypto assets, don't invest in XRP only!!

You can select multiple coins of your choice by doing market analysis. But I will give top priority only to Bitcoin. Bitcoin's popularity is constantly increasing, which means that Bitcoin will be the sole focus of everyone's investments in the future. Investing in Ethereum as the next coin to Bitcoin wouldn't hurt either. But after investing in Bitcoin, I would prefer Ethereum as a second coin.

Yes. We all know that even with their resolving their legal dispute with the SEC on the previous year, XRP's price movement has been completely stable. Compared to other cryptocurrencies, XRP does not seem to increase its price with Bitcoin or with any other altcoins in the market. It only shows that XRP is subject to price manipulation.
Anyway, it's up to the investors to decide which cryptocurrency to invest in. However, always remember that it's important to diversify our investments.

At the moment some old coins have started pumping in the market especially SOL, INJ, polkadot, Ethereum Classic, 1inch, FileCoin, Avalanche etc. Coins were once in dumping position but now these coins are very popular and in pumping position. You can purchase from these coins if you wish.

Almost all coins went up because the bullrun started. But in my opinion, SOL really has the potential to increase a lot, it is possible that it will reach $200 price or more, so I recommend to invest in the discounted zone to reduce the risk and maximize your profit.
XRP is the only old coin I've seen that hasn't really gone up, maybe it's also good to invest in it.

So far SOL have a great run recently and there's still a huge potential for more pump for this coin. Although I already secure my profit from SOL but still I'm monitoring how the market goes with this coin and want to buy again if there's a dump happen.
Also looking more forward for XRP in future since this is one of the best coin have great potential for a huge pump. Also have BNB but my top coin to have since I always accumulate when I have extra fund is bitcoin since there's no question about that this is the best coin to have.

Bitcoin is undoubtedly and indeed the main asset in the portfolio.
But for SOL and BNB also quite improved on significant price increases, especially SOL which is getting crowded because of quite hype in recent months.
The SOL ecosystem is growing well and SOL even proved that it will rise drastically and be able to break $100 again after dropping deep enough when it was in trouble with Alameda, which is also related to FTX.
In addition to these two Altcoins, why don't you mention ETH as the second Altcoin that will provide tremendous upside potential when Bitcoin reaches the new ATH later, I even hold ETH until now continue to buy it when the price drops.

Bitcoin is surely the number one option for investment. There is no doubt on this coin. ;)
BNB decreased a bit after CZ has a case with SEC. But he already solved the case, now BNB is raising again gradually.
SOL is the most hype coin among the top 10 coins in CMC. It looks like the price increasing faster toward the halving, but be careful to always analyze the hype on SOL. I don't expect it is the peak, then there will be no more huge raise.

ETH and ADA deserve to be other good investment. ETH and ADA always have good news during the bullrun season. And these coins looks like following the Bitcoin trends.

exactly. In fact, when was the time, both then and now, the best and most appropriate coin to buy, yes, number one is still Bitcoin. it is undoubtly. because we all really understand what Bitcoin is, so there's no need to doubt it.
In the future, if it is related to alt coins, I will personally think about top coins for sure. and ethereum is the most suitable and best to buy. However, if we expect a coin whose price is still very cheap, in this case, perhaps I would personally choose Matic as an option compared to other coins whose prices are still quite cheap.

OP First you need to remember to take maximum risk in cryptocurrency investing. Secondly, you should invest extra money because the market can go down at any moment after investment so that you don't have to worry about investment losses after investment. Then since you want to invest your money for six months I don't know how successful you will be but if you are serious about investing then I suggest you to buy bitcoin ethereum and I don't suggest buying unique coins because other currencies carry too much risk for you can do
-
You can consider Ethereum when investing. Looking at the current market price, it can be seen that the price of Ethereum is slightly above $2300. If you invest in Ethylium then you can profit from it in future. Ethereum is currently the second most popular cryptocurrency in the market and is a very reliable coin. I would suggest you buy and hold Ethereum. Its price is expected to exceed $3000 in the near future.

We all in shock as we are witnessing a dump currently in the market despite ETF approval that we have all been anticipating and expecting pump in cryptocurrency prices. There is a saying that every disappointment is a blessing so the wise ones could actually turn things around to their own advantage because this is an opportunity to buy more coins at a low price and keep anticipating more profits.
At times like this almost every coin can be beneficial especially now that the bull run is around the corner but selecting the best coins to invest in is also an important thing. Before investing one needs to carefully carry out research even when people are identifying several coins that are best to invest in.
Never invest in a coin because you were told to do so, make sure you research on the coin and conclude by yourself if it is worth investing your money in.
My best picks are
BTC, ETH, SOL, and ADA are coins with good potential in my opinion.

Simply, what you have mentioned are also in mine.
Because after all, the most important investment is in Bitcoin. The next step is to accumulate some of the top altcoins that will allow us to still achieve them. And top coins are the choice. We can check and recheck the coin market cap to choose which top coins are suitable.
As long as we don't choose hype coins that can only boom temporarily, then it will be much more widespread. because after all, hypecoins and also included in them are meme coins, they are very risky investments.
Oh yes, apart from BTC, ETH, SOL, and ADA, I also added: BNB and Matic.

If we are to check how much price increases have the crypto coins gone in price from the beginning of the year till now(2 months), we will all choose bitcoin because it is the only coin that has increased tremendously than others.
That's to say, someone who aims for a short term investment plan like 6 months, has earned a lot of profits before the 6 months. That sounds good but it doesn't really because having the vision of hodling for a longer period like a year or two, will bring higher profits to the investor than withdrawing profits so soon because of short term profits.

Ethereum will be always number one for the investment of altcoins. The current price looks not so high to buy, but I think it is better to wait for the dump to buy again. People assume the price of Etheruem will cross $5k in this bullrun season. So buying around $2k is very good rate, we can get enough profits when the price really passes $5k in the altcoins season.
-
I prefer to invest in Bitcoin. If I actually want to diversify a little, then I can go for strong projects that have their own smart contract and network, such as ETH, BNB, Matic, and Solana. If I want to invest in meme coins too, I will choose Doge Coin. The fact is, altcoins can be so unpredictable compared to Bitcoin, which has two known seasons. If you buy some Bitcoin during the bear market, you are sure to make some profits during the bull market, but if you invest in altcoins, you are not so sure of the coin that can have a huge price pump.
-
BTC, ETH, and SOL. I've been keeping an eye on these coins lately, and it's important to note that ALT SEASON and BTC SEASON aren't over yet. There are still halvings ready to provide massive profits to holders, so top coins are my focus right now.
Some might suggest other coins, like shitcoins, and that's not wrong as long as you only buy a little just to have them, not in large amounts. However, I recommend the main rule to not miss the train to the moon: buy top coins.
-
Bitcoin has been and will always be the best coin to buy for an investment, after which we can later make decision on investing on other coins if we think we have got that courage enough in taking risk with altcoins, we should never as well forget that our investment should be limited to the rate or amount which we can afford to loose, we have to consider the risk involved in any investment before we embark on them.
-
The best coin to buy as the crypto market is concerned is bitcoin. I said bitcoin to be that(best coin) because we know what the future holds for it as the halving and bull run is approaching to give a new ATH of bitcoin. Notwithstanding, there are other coins to invest in, but I can't give you my 100% support about them since I can't tell what the future holds for them in price. Investing in them is risky and it requires DYOR to avoid blaming anyone for why telling you to invest in altcoins other than bitcoin.

Any other top cryptocurrencies will likely perform well in the upcoming bull market, even if we cannot accurately predict their future prices. These cryptocurrencies are likely to experience significant growth. For newcomers to the market, the only thing I know is, that it is advised to avoid meme-coins, as they may not be good for long-term holding. It is also better to conduct your research than to rely on the opinions of others when it comes to investing.

I would also recommend that to newbies, but i would even say they should avoid altcoins totally while they are still new, altcoins are so risky and there are too many new ones that are being created and launched on exchanges. A newbie will likely make a mistake and buy too many shitcoins if they look for altcoins, buy only BTC for now and if you want to diversify, buy different assets, i.e. gold, silver, etc.

I change what I said. I had forgotten that meme coins is also among the top altcoins in the market. Just like Dogecoin, which is among the top ranked, the top 10 altcoins, which is a perfect example. But it's not recommended for the newbies to invest in Dogecoin because they might not understand the true nature of this meme coin. Even if Dogecoin is the very first meme-coin, it is not be the best choice for new investors.
-
BTC, ETH and BNB are still the best at the moment, even though recently the cryptocurrency market is experiencing a pump moment, because the halving has not yet occurred, buying BTC as an investment instrument still has the opportunity to gain profits for the next few months or for mid-term investments.
Meanwhile, ALT SEASON is not yet visible, this is usually a phenomenon that occurs during halving, usually after halving or after BTC SEASON. The safest is top coin for investment needs, for transactions I like LTC and DOGE because the transaction fees are quite low.

Many people prefer receiving recommendation from others even when they are not sure of what to do, its not that bad requesting from others, but we should also take it a responsibility of making our own personal research so as to add up to what others have suggested to us, it will not appears as if we have zero idea about what we are going into, some people may also mislead others if they see that they are novice in it, that is why we have the internet to research.
-
For me as the newbies with this forum my picks are Bitcoin, binance. For me, but it's depend on you guy's which is your prefer to buy.

Doing your research is always important because as you said, one might not be suggesting projects or tokens that are worth investing in and if the person asking for suggestions goes ahead and makes investments without looking them up themselves they might incur losses due to that. So whenever someone asks a community for suggestions, they need to make sure that they are taking those suggestions, doing their due diligence, and then deciding what projects they should go for.
Some newbies don't even ask anyone for suggestions or assistance, they watch a few videos, see some posts on social media, and start making investments based on those resources which is the worst thing one can do. Do that only if you don't love your money, otherwise, you shouldn't be making investment based on what you read over the internet written by anyone.
-

Newbies usually have one syntom of fear in them when it comes to investing in any coin whose price has far exceeded $10. Even if you tell a newbie to invest in Bitcoin, the person will feel like you are giving them the wrong advice because they will begin to imagine how they can afford a whole bitcoin because of how expensive the price has become. They fail to realize that Bitcoin can be acquired in fractions, and it's better to earn their little profit from Bitcoin rather than lose all their assets to a meme coin or some shitcoin.
-

Not only that memecoins are not good for long-term investing purposes, but the whole of altcoins are not also. They are only good for short-term plans. For Instance, if you invest in them now, within a short time, when you have made some profits, you can withdraw your profits because leaving your profits to grow more, can leave you disappointed and you will end up feeling bad about the missing opportunity that passed you by.

Diversify investment from top coin if you want because top coin always gives good profit. Also now there are many new altcoins that are diversifying with the hype so you can buy good tokens from within. But this does not mean that every currency will see the same success, even in the long term which is why you need to be very careful about what you invest in and you should definitely try to diversify your portfolio. You never know which sector might blow up next, or when the next bull run might start tripling crypto prices. Additionally, my personal portfolio is btc, eth, dogs, notcoin, right now.

BTC, ETH is a mandatory investment, But I can't imagine the Notcoin you choose, and yes it's your choice.
I hold some of the top altcoins like SOLANA, BNB and some memecoins that I quite believe like $KOKO with a very strong community.
Not only holding the top altcoins, tap needs several altcoins that will have high upside potential, in the memecoin sector especially now that is being hyped.

Actually i don't like meme coin holding much but dogs coin has different vitality and it is totally different from other meme coin. By looking at their maeketcap you can guess which line it will go in the future. A large marketcap of $407 dollars and a maximum supply of 550 billion tokens. However, there is already a circulating supply of 516 billion dogs. As a new project it quickly got to the top list on cmc so i want to see it's future well. pavel durov is always giving the best support where many dogs holders are able to earn money for free.

Well, I will not say negative things about DOGS because TBH, seeing it staying on the top for quite some time is for me surprising already. I mean look at Hamster Kombat and the price of token right now.
The community of DOGS is firm and they support the project that much. The problem right now is how they will sustain it. Right now they're #182 on Coingecko, and is down 50% from it's previous ATH. TBH, I expect that the price of their token will plummet just like what happened with Hamster Kombat, but it wasn't the case. I wonder how will the project be relevant in the upcoming months and how they will maintain or even go above and reach that top 100 in terms of market cap. I mean dogwifhat and even the useless PEPE token are on the top already. :D

I would also recommend that to newbies, but i would even say they should avoid altcoins totally while they are still new, altcoins are so risky and there are too many new ones that are being created and launched on exchanges. A newbie will likely make a mistake and buy too many shitcoins if they look for altcoins, buy only BTC for now and if you want to diversify, buy different assets, i.e. gold, silver, etc.
since OP wants to get coin recommendations, so I agree with the point in choosing BTC as a medium to long term investment... but sorry, for the recommendation point to invest in gold and silver, it is not included in the cryptocurrency space... so if diversification in the cryptocurrency space is done, then my recommendation is on BTC, ETH, BNB and other top coins...
what needs to be remembered is, even though this is a recommendation, there is no guarantee that within 6 months it will bring profit, it could also bring loss due to the volatility nature, so be careful when making investment decisions.

Wrong, not ever dump because after rains comes the sun. It is just a long lasting dump.
As said that you are new here, I would encourage you to go for reputable and potential coins which the assurance of your funds would be secured firstly and not the eager chasing of quick profits.
You just can't have such people of duration to hold a coin while expecting profits. This is volatile market and you can only make profits when the market movements goes towards your favour. So best is to buy your coins and keep holding in strive of making profits

This is the main reason why newbies should only stick to buying bitcoin and hodli for long, so that they can enjoy the market volatility to increase their bitcoin portfolio if they can buy whenever they have the money. It is only bitcoin that has the high odd of surviving in the market and continous increase in price overtime even if currently the volatility is bitcoin is getting low.

I strongly agree that Bitcoin is good investment for medium to long term. It has proven history and is leading market. And I also disagree with suggesting gold and silver as they are not cryptocurrencies. If any want to diversify within cryptocurrencies consider top performers like Ethereum Binance Coin and others.
But we should keep in mind that cryptocurrency investments are risky. Be cautious, understand your risk level, and do your own research. Consult financial experts if needed.

Except we want to have this two things into considerations, i will suggest that we must first consider our affordability for taking risk on investing on any coin first, secondly, the new projects are what we should distance ourself from, especially when we are not sure of those behind the project, because we cant afford making an investment on what will not be productive at the end.
-
-If OP wants to invest in coins with a relaxed and calm mind, it might be better to buy Bitcoin or Ethereum.
-If OP wants to invest in coins with fast fluctuations, you can buy Polygon, Polkadot or Solana coins.
-If OP wants to invest in coins that are just for a joke increase, you can buy Meme coins like Shiba and Doge.
All of my suggestions above are about my own personal assessment and this is also not recommended for OP to invest in the coins that I have mentioned.

Of course, Bitcoin is always good for medium or long term investment. It is the number 1 crypto coin, there is no doubt with Bitcoin. Bitcoin also has a very clear historical price movement, we can make an easy analysis for the price growth of Bitcoin. However, people also invest in other crypto coins. The top coins are surely the best option. Ethereum, BNB coin, Solana are some top coins that are very recommended to invest in.

Yes, crypto investment is high risk. We must be careful in managing our crypto investment. So, we must always know the way to deal with the risks.

Nice investment suggestions you do have for OP. But it's quite unfortunate that OP, you are given all these suggestions to "on which coin is best now" won't get to see or know about this because they last time he was online was March 2023. This makes me think that this coin suggestions you are given out should be for everyone who wants to have a good investment in crypto, in anticipation for next year bull run

Yeah, new projects are very risky, the project owners may try to ease the mind of investors with different buzzwords, but new projects are usually built by the developers to enrich themselves and once they have made money from it, they disappear. I know there are some good new projects, but the number is too small.

Yes, OP asked for suggestions of coins to invest into and he knows truly well that everyone will only share their opinion and not just giving him the advise to go for their choice. You’ve really given OP some good insights on the coins to go for and if he will really wants to do as you said, he’ll make a good choice of investment that will not make him lose hope in what he stands to achieve in the long run during the process of holding. Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB and Solana are my best to hold for a long time which I’m certain will grow over time and not make me feel worried about my investments turning to dust tomorrow. They’re good picks that can hold on to the volatility of the market very well.

Indeed. New projects are always very risky because many of them failed. It is quite rare to see the new projects in crypto that can last a long time, or they can develop well. Many of them only have good progress in the early step. After they have many investors, the projects will try to develop very slowly. Sometimes, there is no longer development and the team start to be not active anymore. At the end of the day, the teams really dissapear and the projects become dead.

This not ideal time for the big investment because market is bullish now and we don't know that when market will start the bull run or maybe it also can happen that we see high dump on market both can happen now so I think if you are looking for investment on altcoin the amount should be small as your affordability.
And choosing coin should be on the some basic analysis like where you want to invest that project will that wothable for the future and about the potentiality on the market and those backer. So all these aspect if I chose few coin there will be TON, ETH, BNB, SOLANA and I will also make small investment on the DOgs the memecoin.

I think I'll always have one answer to OP question at any point in the market: buy BTC! This is a long-term financial investment advice, suitable for those who are willing to stay in the crypto market for many years. In case OP bought BTC in 2022, he can rest assured and enjoy the profits now.
BTC will exist until the end of the crypto market, while other tokens, including ETH, are not certain to be able to do that. Therefore, I think every cautious investor should have some BTC with a value of at least 30%-50% of his total crypto assets. This is an insurance for profits in each cycle, and at the same time helps investor stay clear-headed to seek more profits from ALTs.

Solana seems very familiar to investors and traders because I see that many people are trading this Solana coin. I have also received information that Solana coin transactions are the fastest because they can reach thousands of transactions in 1 second using the POH (proof of History) system. I only recommend it to myself because I have never bought cryptocurrency, I am constrained by capital and the answer from OP is Solana coin for now which is worth buying.

SUI should be a token to watch out right now.
it has been making good progress in the past two months.
however do not keep all your eggs in one basket.
PS: Not your keys, not your coins. Remember to store your crypto on cold wallets.
-
Going by the way of the most trending as well as reliable coin in cryptocurrency, bitcoin has been proven worth in this category over time now, and as we speak, its very more volatile and with high benefits over increasing potentials for making profits, but we must invest with focus on the market trend, we must be able to afford the risk in doing same, bitcoin among other few altcoins performing well could worth making investment a profitable decision for their investors.

SUI and SOLANA have good potential to close the end of 2024.. there are some projections for SOLANA's future regarding ETFs that seem to be starting to be seriously discussed everywhere.. the trend of crypto currencies to go ETF seems to be starting to become popular... this has a high possibility of a price spike that we can't even control for the price of solana when the ETF is actually approved.
There's nothing wrong with hoping for something that big coins do, like ETFs from Bitcoin and Ethereum which have proven to have a positive impact on demand for related coins, right?

For the next 6 months almost any coin can become profitable, because the bull run kicked in high so any project can take off to reach big at the peak because investors always look for alternatives after Bitcoin and that's when they land on random coin promoted by someone on social media but long term is not 6 months, it's 5 to 10 years so newbies who just coming to be the investor for the first time then read some basics about investing and crypto is rapidly growing compared to traditional market but still it doesn't give returns overnight on an average scenario.

Of course, buying random coins is a big risk because there is no trust on the project that it will survive the market and give you good profit in the long run. Bitcoin is very promising as long as you only buy and hodli for lonh without chasing short term gians. Altcoins are for short term, and the moment you see profit, its better you sell and take profit. They are not reliable overtime.

Maybe some technical buying random coins how to get opportunity to earn profit with any difference coins, its looks old trading technical when remember don't put eggs on one bracket and most of trader buy several kinds of altcoin.
I think most important but one or two coins but have potential and make research before buying, wait on the right time to buy and always priority with top altcoin at CMC without buy any random coins and don't make research yet.

Knowledge of narrative and difference between market cap coins like high market cap to low market cap coins will give an excellent idea of which token will be pumping and dumping from now. The accuracy depends on the research and experience. Random buyings can still make profits but it will be like if xrp is pumping buying it at current price to make more profit would be a mistake.
Some low cap can pump to 1000 feet but not every coin will finding the right low cap token for the right narrative is important to jump 1000 feet otherwise investment can be wasted.
