I was browsing the marketplace section today and looking through this thread (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=284203.30). While it may not be a pressing issue, look through the thread and you'll see what I'm referring to. Guy just keeps posting the same message over and over. I know why he is doing it, he is trying to keep his topic at the top and hoping someone is looking to buy, but it looks so spammy and his post count shouldn't raise with 500 bumps of the same text in 1 thread.
Can we report topics like this and a mod delete the bumps? DO nothing?

I think the user should be warned and he should always delete the old bump before posting another one...

The issue is I don't think everyone can modify/delete a post. Only certain ranks may be enabled for this option.

Deleting your own posts is considered an additional feature on this forum and it is necessary to pay (burning ALTT token) to enable it.
I did that and can delete my posts, although I haven't used it yet.

We can modify our posts but no chance of deletion because it has been cleared by Admin in a certain point the prevent abuse of the thread , but I think Admin can put a feature exemption in deletion of our own Bumping or at least allow to delete the same post if its multiple times posted with the same text.
-
That guy might have an excuse for not having a delete feature on our post.
So that guy keeps bumping using the same text and IMO, the best thing is to report to admin and let them decide what's the best for this kind of thread that looks like a spammy one.
Let's hope the admin will respond to this post to find a better solution to this concern.
-
Although the user cannot delete old bumps, they can ask a moderator to delete them. In any case, the quickest and most effective thing would be for the administrator to give permissions to that user (and to users who have similar threads) to be able to delete them himself, leaving them in a log to avoid possible abuse.
I will write to the administrator to inform him about this thread and find a solution.

We can delete our posts in some boards. For example, but not limited to, I can delete my posts in News related to Crypto section[1]. Therefore, the same thing can be done in the marketplace section and to avoid offense, you can delete posts that are less than 3 words in length.

True, but as you know, not all boards have the same permissions for users. Granting permissions to users who post bumps frequently would be the easiest, and if they don't do so despite having such permissions, the moderators of that board and global moderators could remove those bumps after a certain period of time. Although it would mean more work to do.

We have taken some good and positive features examples from the other forum. If adding another feature helps the forum, then I guess it would be good to implement it here as well. See how Bitcointalk handles the same issue. A user can delete their own posts in case they post more than one post in a row. They can delete old bumps which is decreased workload of the moderators. If someone keeps bumping their thread without deleting the previous bump, it could be considered as offense. So, if you could suggest admin to give permissions to member to delete their own posts, that would be better. Just my 2 sats!
-
I think users should be able to delete their bumps. At least after some time has passed.
Additionally, there should be a limit for posting in certain topics.
For example, a user cannot make more than 1 consecutive post in a day. This would stop many useless bumps.

he hasn't replied since i replied to him last time

What about reporting the old bumps to moderators to delete before bumping the thread and the moderators in the forum are very active to take any action reported to them because when I see that thread, all is bullshit. Then another way again, he can even tell the admin or the president to clean the thread for him before bumping it.

They can't deleted bumps or any old posts, unless they ask moderators to do it, or unless they pay by burning some tokens to enable deletion of posts.
I noticed this about posts and I don't like it, this is another good reason why we should have deletion by default in more boards (if not in all).
Services board should enable post deletion, and maybe few other boards.

What is the reason why deleting posts is not allowed?
I see no reason for that.
Maybe with a better reputation/trust system everyone should be allowed to.

Yes, I agree, there's no reason for not allowing users to delete their own posts. I believe such feature should be allowed so users can delete the posts that they find unworthy. I'm referring to the type of posts that OP mentioned in this thread, if the creator of those posts isn't allowed to delete his/her own posts then someone has to get privileges to delete such posts and warn such users so they may not create such posts in feature.
I know that burning of ALTT token is essential to keep forum working properly and to add some liquidity to that token but I also believe that some feature should be granted to all members especially when it comes to deleting of their own posts. The users should not be allowed to delete their topics/threads any default but they should be allowed to delete their own posts/replies like they are allowed to do on other forums.

If you read the OP you'll see I have suggested reporting to mods already. Please read before replying to avoid rewording what was already said.

What is the reason why deleting posts is not allowed?
I don't know, ask admin.
We have been talking about that for months in several topics, so I don't know how you could miss that.
Maybe admin is thinking many members will try to scam and abuse something in forum by deleting their posts.

The admin said in a post (which I can't find now) that the delete posts option was disabled to prevent possible spam that some users could generate by abusing that feature. With this in mind, I think it would be positive if this feature were available to users with a rank of Sr. Member (since that rank is the first that can send positive and negative karma) and above.
Users who do not have the minimum necessary rank can burn some tokens or ask a moderator for help deleting posts.

I read your content and I made the suggestion base on the subsequent comments and not really from yours. And I also read the link in the Op and saw the comment of the admin over there. And I don't think we can delete post by ourselves and that probably the caused of that op. And that's why suggestions are made.

What is the reason why deleting posts is not allowed?
I see no reason for that.
Maybe with a better reputation/trust system everyone should be allowed to.
There are two reasons:
the first is that it affects points, which at some point can be converted into BUSD worth of ALTT , and the second is fraud.
I have been very clear and very transparent.
- delete own post >> abuse points.
- delete topic >> affects ranks and post count
- move topic >> bypass restriction on sections
- change display name >> impersonate others after teleportation XXX not available for purchase
- lock topic >>> censorship
- create custom title >>> annoying
deleting is neededbut also delete is abused by a lot of users to hide trace of scam or cheating or multi-account.thus report your post or pay for the ability to delete your posts
So it is a paid feature.

I never found a post which explain how to reclaim ALT tokens and convert them to anything else. Which topic is it? I see many related to ALT, but I just found rules and stuff like that, never saw information about reclaiming them

I almost forgot that the altcoinstalks moderate scams!
Their intention behind this rule is clear. Thanks for sharing this here. I guess I have read it before but I forgot about it. So, if we want to delete our own replies, we should report them and ask moderators to remove them. But, if we believe that someone's post should be deleted as well, probably only reporting it won't work, we have to write the report description well to have the mods to delete them.
@dkbit98, you are giving me Ratimov vibe with that avatar ::) ::) everytime I see your avatar, I think of Ratimov.

Agreed, they should be reported and I think these posts are already spam, and for the spam post already a rule to immediate ban, may reporting them mod can be a result.
https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=3171.msg17324#msg17324
And regarding this thing rules should be before bumping the service thread delete the previous thread. I don't know the guy why did those he is selling service then why he need to ranked up by those spams.

What we can change are the points we get when we create a thread or write a post, but we can only redeem them for the forum token, not USDT.
Withdraw ALTT & ALTT Distributions (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=163096.0). Although the thread is from 2020, the last update is from March 18, 2024.
It will also be possible to redeem karma, but there is not much information about it yet.

At least in Bitcointalk, you can't delete posts in the Marketplace board (or at least some subboards) for a certain period of time, 24 hours to be specific. This is so that you can't hide evidence of deals and stuff like that. It wouldn't surprise me if Altcoinstalk just copied that feature from the other forum and set as many boards as possible to be delete-free.

The last distribution I remember isDistribution done, transaction : https://bscscan.com/tx/0x2c301a81039cc3916eb46e1c97fd0b4638489d71e0e6b4d8c7a9b73a5dc3056eI (https://bscscan.com/tx/0x2c301a81039cc3916eb46e1c97fd0b4638489d71e0e6b4d8c7a9b73a5dc3056eI) also added more liquidity, in case some people wanted to sell the tokens received. The distribution was done based on :1000 points = 1 BUSD worth of ALTT
so, it was 1000 points = 1 BUSD worth of ALTT, I thought it was USDT, will edit my post.

As far as I know, this is disabled due to abuse of hybrid account rank boosting. Activity points are earned for each post, but they are not reduced if you delete the post. So it is very easy to create a farm of high-ranked accounts.
Given that bounty campaigns no longer dominate here, the resulting multi-accounting is not so interesting. I believe that the attitude that this forum is destined for bounty and earning hunters would be completely wrong. The arrival of more serious signature campaigns is taking the forum to a different level, we should probably change that bounty/earn narrative shortly.

I agree.
However, I still lack some more technical discussions . And also some better way to navigate here.
The notification bots helped a lot forum navigation, but so many boards and the lack of a watchlist/personal feed/or trending topics make it very hard to find new posts.
I will think about implementing some watchlist someday .. with trending topic links in a page in my domain
