Title: Patience is the Key to HODL
Post by: Gposas on November 08, 2024, 04:19:19 AM
Though the reason of Holding an asset is solely for the reason of long term duration, but some bearish seasons can make the heart of some investors to beat faster.
It is clear that there is no much risk involved in holding an asset either BTC or ALTS but when the Crypto market is suffering a down trend for a longer period, most Holders are prone to sell off their assets as a result of fear. Believing that the market will keep experiencing more down trend, putting their portfolio at risk.
And some others tend to buy more at every significant price drop and even hoping to accumulate more asset at the dip.

As a matter of fact, every holder has no reason to fear because there'll always be a bull season. A clear example is the market trend since the past 7days, BTC reaching over 76k from it's price of about 42k as at January 2024. For those Investors who has placed some of this asset on hold for the past one year is likely to be seeing an x3 or even x5 profit.
In conclusion, every holder has to exercise patience with any asset placed on hold and reduce their emotional stress when  the market is bearish because the season for the bulls must always come by.

You do not really know about altcoins. Check what the prices of the old coins were in the past and compare it with their present price when bitcoin got to all-time-high. Many of them are 5 to 10 times lower than their present prices. Holding altcoins is like you are gambling. If you are lucky to make money from them, sell them.

It would depend on the person's strategy. If they want to HODL, it is up to them as long as they know what they are doing and believe that they have made the right choice. It could be a great strategy if the market goes down. You would have more purchasing power if you saw the top and bought again when you reached the bottom.

It is all about strategy. Make sure that you know how much risk you’re taking so you won’t be hurt as much.

Also about what target you pursue - you always need to have a clear goal in mind in order to achieve it a get the results from it properly. Otherwise, things may end up badly.

It could be that, or it could correlate a bit if Trump wasn't there, probably - in any case, there would be another event that would spike up the rally for BTC.
And holders, and the true bitcoiners - know that.

True OGs that know the market and how BTC, and to this extent, many alts alongside behave, never sell off their bags even if they see a little bit of red.
They know there will be a bounce back. And it will be big. So big, that everything is going to be fine in any case. Especially - with BTC.

Bro this doesn't work. Holding without direction is waste of time. Look at most coins ath in 2021 and now they're 70% down. If you want to hold. Hold utility' tokens and have a knowledge of TA so you know when to sell. Don't hold blindly

BTC is not like most coins, however - I do believe you, and I do agree on the fact that holding have to be done with the reason in mind. Otherwise, the profit and results will not be there.

The fact is, there are people who made a lot from HODLING; they understand the potential of Bitcoin.
They know that it takes patience and time to reap the fruit of your patience. Investors and traders should allocate funds for HODL because there's profit for investors; it may not be that huge, but compared to trading, its hassle-free. All you need is time and patience, you can start with small amount and add when you can its like savings that will yield a huge amount in the future.

When bearish trend continues longer than expected then a lot of investors sell off their assets. If a investor has spare funds to invest in that case he can hold his assets for long period, but other investors have no other option but to sell off.

The crypto currency you choose to invest in depends on the nature of your investment especially in terms of time frame. The idea is in the case of crypto currencies, volatility can either be a plus on your side , and that's of course if you invested in a coin that pumped or also a minus on your side if the coin eventually ends up dumping.

If you are looking to make long term hodling decisions the smartest option is actually bitcoin. From a view of progress over a lengthy period no coin or token in the entire crypto space beats bitcoin.  Altcoins can be profitable for a very short period of time and for that you have to have a nice understanding of the market. Yes some coins and especially token can pump to 10× but the truth is it won't last. It's easy to gain from them if you have the right information and knowledge and also easy to lose from them if you take them as a long term investment.

Yes, everything has its own risks and we must be able to adapt to it, including in implementing the strategy that we will use.

Basic knowledge is something that is very important, that's why we repeatedly say that we must be equipped with sufficient knowledge. Because here it's not just strategy that we need, but other things like mentality are also very important to have. Because sometimes when our mentality is not good, then we can't use our knowledge optimally.

You are on point... There's always a reason of Holding an asset and the major reason is for an appreciation in price, to enable gain/profit collection within a specified period of time.
I don't think any Investor will hold his assets blindly and a true holder will make a wide research of whatever token he places on hold. When all these are set and done... There's only one way left to go.... And that's up to profit making!!!

The reason for hodling bitcoin is not just for long term sake. Putting it this way seems like hodlers just hodl for long term without any sense of direction. We have short term hodlers, they have a goal or target they intend to achieve, once they get what they want, there is no longer any need hodling longer.

The reason for long term hodling is to reduce the impact of short term price swings so the hodler can get huge profits.

A token if there is still an ocean floor from 2021 is to understand that they are very weak in terms of development activities. Because they could not provide any profit potential for investors due to which they could not retain investors. You should check that many of the top altcoins have increased in price. Moreover, the price of eth has started to increase so the price of many altcoins will change. Meanwhile i have been hold some token in 2019 but they are still dumping bottom. Currently the hype of new projects is high and most of the new projects are giving profit to investors due to which everyone is rushing towards new projects. Crypto market always goes with hype trends so investors want to make profit by exploiting this hype.

that's right, holding altcoin is like gambling and if you are lucky you will get many times the profit and vice versa.. most people fall because of holding altcoin even the short term also experience losses, in my opinion holding altcoin must choose carefully for the long term..
a safer coin to hold is bitcoin besides being safe, bitcoin also has a small risk compared to other coins.

most recent projects honestly just rely on hype and their dev team are just there for display they actually do not care about developing a coin that can be used for various purposes and for long term they just want the profit as much as the investors so i think it is always wise to sell as fast as you can when you have the opportunity lest you end up with coin of no value

It is always adviceable for all investor to have an emergency fund as this will enable them to be able to hold there btc for a longer duration maybe be 4-10 yrs or more before they option for sale. There are always unforseen contingency which may force and investor to sell off his holdings before the expected time thats is why the emergency fund should always be there to tackle this emergency .most investors do sell of there holdings whenever they notice a slight correction in the price of bitcoin and they Will be grip by fear of the price not going up again. So before we start our accumulation of bitcoin , we should always state out a plan how long we are to hold our coin , if it is 10yrs or more depending on your capabilities.Just like now we just experience and upward trend in the price of bitcoin , majority we sell off the little stash they have in their portfolios instead of focusing on accumulating more bitcoin and hold for at least two bitcoin cycle.

It's only bitcoin that is worth hodling for a long time duration because the price keeps increasing overtime no matter how dip it gets it will still recover. During the bear market it's an opportunity go to buy more Bitcoin cheaper but short term investors panics when the price dips because they are after quick profit and gets disappointed when there is a dip. Altcoins depreciates in value, and should be sold whenever you see profits.

Now that the price of Bitcoin is high enough because it has reached a new ATH, to start the initial investment you should wait for the price correction first so that you don't buy bitcoin at a high price.

But I remain optimistic that the price of bitcoin will break the $100k ATH and hopefully in 2025 it will be achieved.
Patience to hold back will be replaced by the benefits that will be obtained, whoever is patient will enjoy the results.

Bulls...Bears, they are two different events that comes and goes. Truth is, there are some investors that gets more excited during a bullish movement and less excited when they experiences some form of bearish movement, while there are other investors that feels the opposite. We all know that both events offers their own advantages and disadvantages. For those that buy and sell (i.e trading), they might prefer having both events moderately, while for those that accumulates, they might enjoy the bearish movement most. Well, since the threads talks about holding, then patience is definitely a valid point.

If you buy bitcoin and decide to hold it for the long term, it is the right choice because bitcoin is very suitable for long-term investment. Why do we panic when the price of bitcoin drops? Those who decide to invest in the short term should understand that the crypto market is very volatile, the price can go down but if you wait the price of bitcoin will go up again.
There are many considerations to decide whether we invest in the long term or short term, if we choose to invest in the short term, we should buy altcoin because it is more profitable than bitcoin in the short term.

Yes, of course, when HODLING a digital asset (in fact any asset for that matter) there is a need to have a good level of  patience, not easily panic and even just forget that you are hodling something in your digital wallet. This kind of mindset is the one that can give us the financial success we are looking for while in the cryptocurrency industry. People who got Bitcoin at the beginning of the year are now smiling as the price really surged ahead after the election of Trump and may continue to be in the vicinity of $70K as Trump is preparing to take the reign of the White House officially come January 20. Most especially in Bitcoin, the future looks so good as long as one will not have weak hands and would be swayed by FOMO that can come anytime.

i don’t see any problem with short term investors or traders taking action when bitcoin corrects itself or has really high volatility because at least they know what kinds of investors they are it’s like if you are only interested in bitcoin for the short term that’s fine own up to it!

but if you plan on being a long term investor and you panic from a slight correction then forget being a long term holder lol you are not going to be so successful if you overthink every little movement from the market if you want to hold for a long time then learn to not care about every movement every hour

       -      I agree with what you say that every holder should not really be worried or afraid. What is the other reason why the other holders are worried? What they see is a sudden fall in the value of the asset they are holding.

Let's just remember that as long as we don't sell the crypto assets we hold at a loss, you have nothing to fear because it will not continue to fall to zero value. Just wait for its price to rise again because there is nothing else. The market will not only return but also increase the price of the assets we hold.

Yeah, if what the holders sees is a sudden market fall, then it is clear that the holder(s) is very emotional on trading or investing options.
Now, these factors may help emotional holders to earn regularly,
Holder should have good knowledge and experiences of the market; have personal strategies to control the market sudden falls, holder should also learn more ideas from expert traders/investors. in addition, Holder should be convasant with news, know about hype and speculation and watch out for an opportunity to close or open positions etc.

Though the reason of Holding an asset is solely for the reason of long term duration, but some bearish seasons can make the heart of some investors to beat faster.

The reason for long term hodling is to reduce the impact of short term price swings so the hodler can get huge profits.

That's the reason long term investors are of more population than short term holders and they are among the factors that determine the volume/liquidity of an asset.
I guess thats the reason why investors prefer long term HODL for the reason of getting an x2 or more price increase in the near future.
Short term investors tend to collect quick profits and prefer short term duration holding either for the sake of incomplete confidence on the project or some other reasons , rather than making loss they grab quick profits and leave.
They are almost compared to a spot trader beaten by the market trend.

For small investors like those with some thousands dollars these returns are too low I mean 4x or 6x are even low for them but for big investors who are playing in millions these returns are more than enough. That's why small investors are the one in my sight who prefer ALTS and meme coins to get more returns as when they see others making more returns then they want to do the same.

BTC is no doubt in the long run is going to give us huge return if we hold it for the next 10 years it will definitely give us more return but that's not what most of the people want with low capital as the profit is permanent but how much that's what they want to know.

New coins obtained from airdrops or bounties should be sold immediately, we should not be greedy because they are free coins.
but buying coins from new projects, we can hold. Not greedy because it is the result of research and long observation to study the project.
I also hold new coins that I feel will have a bright future, but not reward coins, the result of bounties and airdrops.

There is something interesting when talking about coins that we get from airdrops. Because when we sell it, the coin will move higher, but when we hold it, the coin will decrease.

For example, when I got Grass recently, I sold it and a few days later the price jumped hundreds of percent. Maybe I was too hasty, but this often happens. It feels strange, but that's how I feel. Lol

It's good that you sell them than keeping these coins because their prices will always dip in the long run and you might regret holding them for too long. It's only bitcoin that you are sure that after a dip, the price will recover no matter how long it stays at the dip. However, you own the coins and you can do whatever you think is best for you.

Those that take advantage of the market at every dip and bearish point in the market, they are the ones that get the biggest portfolio most times and will have the biggest gains because of the higher number of holdings they have already in their portfolios. Not everyone can keep up to that, but holding up and not selling is better than selling out of fear of losing all. Not all Alts can be dependent on to rise in this manner, most of them don’t make it this far as bitcoin does at every cycle.

Quote
As a matter of fact, every holder has no reason to fear because there'll always be a bull season. A clear example is the market trend since the past 7days, BTC reaching over 76k from its price of about 42k as at January 2024. For those Investors who has placed some of this asset on hold for the past one year is likely to be seeing an x3 or even x5 profit.

These are the moments many investors have been waiting for years to come and it come at just the time when a lot of controversy was still going on if bitcoin can perform well in this bull run or not. This is a clear indication that bitcoin will always follow history but it may defy in the time for it to happen, but it’ll definitely bound to happen at the designated time it should. Those that sold early and not having that patient and trust in the market to be this profitable now will not be happy, but I doubt it many didn’t hold on. Only newbies investors will be having this issue, but majority of hodlers would be in profit now.

When bearish trend continues longer than expected then a lot of investors sell off their assets. If a investor has spare funds to invest in that case he can hold his assets for long period, but other investors have no other option but to sell off.
In fact, when there is a shortage, the investment has to be sold at a much lower price to meet the demand. Although dumping continues in the market for a long time after selling the investment, all these situations are created for those who do not have a job and have to live their lives depending on the earnings of this altcoin or bitcoin forum. Especially people from middle class families are the worst in such situations. Those who have other means of financing do not have to sell their investments even in bearish markets. If I consider from my side, I can't hold anything for long because we always have shortages due to which if we invest something, even if the market goes down, we have to sell those investments due to scarcity.

If you can't hold Bitcoin the days when the market is red and tough, then you don't deserve the profit when everywhere is green. Just the same year Bitcoin price hit $73k and everyone was jubilating about the price and it went down to.$46k and all of a sudden everyone became bearish but those who were smart held into the coming election as pivot.

I know that this might looks small compare to the run Bitcoin has had, some people thinks that this profits is not huge especially people with small money but atleast it's a big call for everyone that shows that the market is always bullish when it's time.

patience and calmness when seeing the red crypto market is the key to success. when the market is corrected we should still hold our coins and wait until the market improves again. Currently bitcoin has reached ATH $ 86 K, and it looks like it will soon touch $ 90 K if there is no negative news that makes the crypto market red again.

Rewards coins from bounty or airdrop if you do not have a good team and project should not be held because the price is likely to go down and you lose the opportunity to sell at the beginning.
If you want hold, you should buy Top Koins, the sale of your rewrads, this makes more sense.

I believe so many people must have sold from their portfolio when bitcoin went as dip as $52K few months ago. The truth is, the rules the governs the crypto market still remains the same, and does not change, and i guess won't change any time soon. The fluctuation of bitcoin's price has been happening for years, until this very minute that we've found ourselves chasing after a $100K price, which sounds nearly impossible at the beginning of this year. But, unfortunately, some hodlers still acts as if they don't know how the market works.

Okay, one funny example was when the Germany government sold their holdings few months back at $62K(if i remembered correctly), and to, the price of bitcoin has grown beyond their expects, i guess they will be hitting theirs heads in regret right now. Just imagine the  loss they've incurred for lacking that simple word "Patience".

You are right, those who have sold their bitcoins at low prices like the German government selling bitcoins at $62K, don't they know that the price of bitcoin is getting more expensive, even now bitcoin has touched ATH $87K and will soon approach $100K.
It is possible that by the end of this year bitcoin will have exceeded the price of $100K, many people are currently predicting that.

Of course. Patience is the key. and for now, approximately how much have your Bitcoin assets increased? Waiting from year to year holding BTC may seem a long time but when the time is right now the price is approaching the target, in fact you are a bit confused about what number the TP should be.

But what is most appropriate for me is correct for setting some targets. so that I won't be too greedy and regret it later. and when talking about countries, El Salvador, which openly announced its investment in BTC, is now truly successful. Patience is key, as long as we really understand what we are trying to do.

The constant increase in the bitcoin price indicates how much this asset will expand in future. While looking at some parties that have been selling at lower prices, may be this makes me aware that, patience has rewards when it comes to investing. The movement of Bitcoin that is reaching nearer to $100K once again gives a new hope and maybe the portfolio holders of this asset can open up a new set of opportunities. The trend that most individuals foretell will gather momentum as the year draws to a close also supports our view of a rosy future for bitcoin.

Though the reason of Holding an asset is solely for the reason of long term duration, but some bearish seasons can make the heart of some investors to beat faster.

I can't advise holding altcoins for a long time because that will bring your investment closer to the losses because not ALTS recover again when they experience dips. If you want to invest in altcoins, choose the utility ones they are more
profitable than bitcoin for short term investment. Bitcoin is worth holding for a long time as we can all see how its price has changed this year and is currently above $80k, which is the new ATH.

No matter how dip bitcoin goes, it will recover and come at a better price than investors expect. Bitcoin long-term holding is about patience, and the result will surely beneficial. We should invest wisely, short-term investments in utility ALTS are profitable, while bitcoin is good for long-term investments.

Cryptocurrency investing is a game that requires patience since the value of an investment asset can jump high or fall heavily in quick succession. If we decide to make the investment for a long period of time, then we allow the asset the opportunity to progress further in the future. They are correct in that every high or low is organic to the movement of the market, and by not panicking and just dumping our holdings for a lower rate we can see a much higher level of ROI. That is why relying on time to improve the value of an asset will give us a much higher outcome given the fact that the value of crypto assets can inflate beyond any measure.

This is a common situation and I think almost everyone will comment like that. I myself get frustrated and sell when a particular coin doesn't see a rise after holding it for a certain time, and after a few days the price of that coin rises. In this case, the fault lies not with others, but own inefficient decisions that lead to such a situation. We should build a strong hand for holding by considering a good coin. Especially in the case of Bitcoin if we can't hold long term it's our own fault. Bitcoin is risky in the short term where there is a high chance of losing. But for long-term holders, Bitcoin must be able to deliver significant returns.

The problem is not everyone prepared for long term investment, they heard that Bitcoin is giving huge returns so they just buy Bitcoin with money that's needed for something else in the recent future with the hope that they can make some returns in meanwhile but no investment assets won't work like that, the safest way is to plan long term investing that should be done with excess money that you will not use for anything else in the next few years.

I agree that bitcoin is best suited for long-term holding where we use free money, not needed for the long term. because if we use money that will be needed in the short term we cannot hold it well for the long term. because when the need arises, we will rush to sell our bitcoins.
How lucky are those who have free money.

This is right, Holding Bitcoin with the funds which are not required to be spent in the near future provides the opportunity to think and invest further with the help of calmness. If we have money that can be invested in this way, then, we are not called on to sell unconventionally. It all enables us to remain fixated on creating the likelihood of future revenues instead of worrying about the immediate demands.

Well, at least I can enjoy the money even though when it goes up I can't feel it to the fullest. But whatever it is, I got it from a free airdrop so this doesn't create any deep regrets at all.

It's different when we put capital and buy a coin for example, when the coin jumps very drastically the feeling of regret is there because we were too hasty in selling. But that's also okay, because previously we had also made a profit.

Altcoins are highly volatile, so trading large amounts is risky. Many compare altcoin trading to gambling.  But gambling and trading are completely different.  Altcoins are volatile depending on Bitcoin, but Altcoins don't rise much during Bitcoin's rise, but when Bitcoin's price starts to fall, Altcoin's price starts to fall much faster.  Those who trade in altcoin future or margin section spend time like gambling.  But to make good out of the crypto world you must HODL and be long-term

in my opinion in trading we need coins that have high volatility, that's the reason why I choose altcoin while for long-term assets where I hold for the long term I prefer bitcoin. Altcoin will always follow the movement of bitcoin even though in reality sometimes altcoin cannot follow the increase in bitcoin which is quite high, but we can still seek profit from it.

The idea of diversification with altcoins and Bitcoin is perfect since their price fluc-tuations contain the potential for bringing in the ‘quick buck.’ It is here that we can try to level the impact, and as a result in stable periods we can achieve faster results.

On the other hand, Bitcoin remains a good investment for the long term storage as it proved to be more stable against trends. While most altcoins tend to mimic Bitcoin, the fact that we have such a flexible strategy provides us with the most from both.

The act of HODLing is a long term strategy, and should be considered as such if one is to actually benefit from the market using the strategy. And we already know also that when we talk about long term, we are automatically talking about Patience and Resilience, because without these qualities, it’ll be difficult or even impossible to HODL. Another thing is to really understand the dynamics of the market, as well as the asset you intend to HODL, what are the characteristics of this asset, how has the performance been in the previous cycles, although while it’s true that past performances may not always guarantee future results, but at least it could provide you and insight of what to do and how the asset may likely behave.

For those Investors who has placed some of this asset on hold for the past one year is likely to be seeing an x3 or even x5 profit.
In conclusion, every holder has to exercise patience with any asset placed on hold and reduce their emotional stress when  the market is bearish because the season for the bulls must always come by.

We can choose the top coins for investment.

Well there are actually two type of investors those that are pure investors who have stable source of income and the low budget investors who has no stable job but still invest in Bitcoin which sometimes end up withdrawing for the daily needs. So yeah one can hold that long and one can't for some reason and it became an advantage for the upper class and disadvantage for lower class though it depends on their strategy how they can hodl. I personally belong in the lower class so I can't hold that long so maybe I'll go for the cheaper Altcoins first then if I earn profit I'll surely convert that into Bitcoin because my goal is to atleast save one whole BTC.

Basically, the crypto world prides itself on the functionality as well as effectiveness of the performance, with the patience and understanding as the factors towards the restoration of the expected results. When we choose to invest and have a specific term of expected possession of an asset, we need to act on the ground of the analysis, not on guesse. But it also extends more to the conception of waiting for a competitive edge strategy and maintaining them according to shifting market factors.

However, it also implies that we have to support our decisions with practise and the most up-to-date information in the sphere of crypto. They help to build an extensive knowledge of the given field allowing to identify chances and opportunities for arising of certain risks. Although, facing limited probabilities on the stock market, with appropriate measures of time, expertise, and direction, this position can be gains the better returns in the investment.

The crypto market does have a cycle that is fully observable and characterised by fluctuations in the prices of cryptocurrencies. In this case, it is appropriate for us to have a vision in investment both in the short term and the long term. As a result, delimiting certain moments, we build a suitable strategy fully for ourselves and in accordance with our conditions and expectations. But one must be rather elastic on this matter because each person or company has different levels of risk bearing and their requirements are unique.

Also as a matter of fact, it is important that we consider the fact that endeavours such as holding assets can bring about good returns, if the exercise is well thought out. But there are circumstances when the plan of selling or buying has to be changed in accordance with shifts on the market and one’s requirements. We should be able to set a plan that will enable us come up with also strategies that depend with the current situation so that we can maximise both profit and reduce risk. When these decisions are made with full cognizance, then the results would be far more rewarding in the long run.

It is subjective based on how profitable we are already. Holding is a good strategy that I was able to prove it to myself. There are people that still discourages other into holding for so long because they were a disappointed holder. Don't be like them and believe on what you're about to do. It's only a matter of time until you see all of the hard work and patience is going to be worth it. HODL while you can and you'd definitely thank your patience over all.

Yeah, I agree that patience is necessary in the market, but I don't support blind patience. Holders can suffer significant losses if they hold dead-coins with infinite patience and no reasonable stop-loss. Therefore, we need a clear basis to determine a safe zone for patience, as well as understanding why we are holding that coin. In other words, we need a serious investment plan, not just immense patience ^^

Of course, history has proven that holders of BTC and ETH have received huge profits, which is an advantage that other tokens in the market are difficult to obtain. I urge investors to have a basis for maintaining wise patience, and at the same time, limit hasty actions during critical periods of the market.

Maybe the coins they hold are not the top coins, so they are disappointed by holding too long. Bitcooin is the most suitable and safe coin to hold for the long term. Patience will produce good results if we can. And before deciding to hold coins, we should do research and make an analysis of the coins. If we have confidence that the coins will have good progress in the future, we can hold them. It is highly recommended to hold top coins because they have been proven to have good potential so far.

It has been a proven strategy already, that Holding is one of the best if not the best. The thing is that there are investors that don't have any patience and the mentality to go and grind every week or every month to buy and purchase and save it.

But for us who have been in the market for so long, we all know what it takes and so we are willing to be a long term Holder. And I think it's a good practice to us on how we can really be a true HODLer investor, not just in saying but in practice as well.

Investment on altcoins is not gambling but as altcoins is highly volatile so there has  high risk. if you can find potential altcoins then you can make good profit but it is very difficult to analysis thousand of altcoins and find the best one ,two or three. who can do that they also get rich with small investment on altcoin

I agree with you holding investments for long time is winning strategy. It needs patience and self control which can be tough for some. But experienced investors know it is worth waiting for big gains. Being true HODLer investor means more than just saying it you have to actually do it. This mindset helps you stay calm through market ups and downs and avoid bad decisions to grow your investments over time and become more patient. Your approach inspires others to invest wisely and hold on for long term keep it up.

One thing we have to think about is what do we do with Bitcoin analysis? We analyze bitcoin by looking at its previous performance and then we find that bitcoin goes in a certain cycle and after certain cycles the price of bitcoin only moves upwards. In this case the cycle is mainly related to Bitcoin halving. And basically we do analysis based on bitcoin halving.
But if we talk about altcoins, then it is very complicated to analyze almost all altcoins except some big altcoins. So I think many people call this altcoin investment gambling as a form of sarcasm.

I have bolded it for you. I posted that holding altcoins is like you are gambling. Something is like gambling means it is not gambling but very similar to what gambling is. The coins that will not get to all-time high and also that can dump at any time. That makes them be like gambling.

true, the key to success is patience because with patience in a person, they will not easily act recklessly in doing something and will definitely think about the future, whether what they are doing is good or not.. if someone does not have patience in business or is reckless in taking action, usually he will easily regret it after doing it and most professional people in trading have patience with that it is easy to get profit without any regret.

We all know that Patience is an important basic, allowing us to make decisions with thought, and particularly in business which is often riddled with uncertainty. We are more adept at seeing opportunities than if we were nervous and rushing. If we’re able to think of every step well before we take it then it will have a greater positive impact our future.

Building a bad habit of doing not rushing, we also reduce the risk of regreting later. Acting rashly leads to those not as profitable. Consistency and the idea that good results come slowly in each of these process is key.

Every investor should be very patient.  All those who have invested in crypto currency in particular should be aware of the market and then invest.  Because we know bitcoin price goes up during bull run and alt coin season starts at the end of bull run.  Then the price of alt coins increased.  So you can't get restless just by investing.  We have to wait for the right time ie price increase.  As we see those who invested in Bitcoin and waited for the wrong run have now profited greatly.  The patience to invest in a few currencies and hold will benefit you a lot.  Those investors who are waiting for the alt season will also get the expected profit.

I agree with you, in investing in crypto we must be patient because sometimes the crypto market is difficult to predict so we have to wait if we have a target to sell our coins and have not reached the price we targeted.
for those who are patient with holding bitcoin buying during the bearish season and holding it until now or until next year when the bullish season they will get big profits. This is how bitcoin holders seek profit in every 4-year cycle.

because it all comes back to individual decisions, and how much we want to take advantage of, so if there are people who interfere with our assets, it is better to avoid and remain firm on the expected profit point, sometimes I am also surprised by people who force their will and opinions on other people's assets and when there is a decline / wrong analysis they do not want to take responsibility, they casually say be patient

Most of the investments I have made in altcoins have brought losses. I have faced huge losses by investing in altcoins not only for short-term but also for long-term. Although I myself think that my analysis skills were not enough to invest then and maybe that is why I faced losses. Even after all those losses, I have reduced my investment in altcoins and currently invest targeting bitcoin and always try to follow the DCA scheme to invest and at the same time I invest a large amount of my money in bear season and book profit in bull season.
Bitcoin didn't disappoint me this time either.

It's real, and I've experienced it too when I first entered the world of long-term investment... however, along with the experience I went through, I started to be stronger in holding, where when the price of Bitcoin started to fall from $71k to $59k I didn't panic and didn't sell BTC, because I knew that and I was still very sure that after the halving there would be a great bullrun.. and there was a bullrun for BTC up to $99k.. I sold my BTC above $80k gradually..

For those of you who still panic when you see the price drop, it's a good idea to check the fundamental analysis again and ensure your confidence in the future of the investment you have started... that's better.

There are two things I’ve observed that will make a Hodler to experience losses, 1 is holding on to the wrong token (shitcoins or any coin that’s not Bitcoin) when an investor holds on to the wrong coin that has little or no long term potential for growth, regardless of how long they hodl, rather than seeing profits, they may likely encounter losses and then they generalize their experience to other coins or the act of HODLing itself which is very wrong.

Another reason is fear and anxiety, when an investor holds for long and is expecting a growth in his portfolio and then all of a sudden, they encounter a Dip, which is an inevitable aspect of the market, and when this happens, due to fear and anxiety, it causes them to indulge in panic sales, making them to liquidate their assets in the middle of a bleeding market and when that happens, they experience losses and term HODLing as a terrible technique.

An amateur will find it harder to control emotions when compared to a professional, and an amateur will easily panic and make mistakes in taking steps in crypto trading. But that will be overcome if we continue to be here, with experience we will remain calm when we see the price of the coin falling.

I have sold it gradually for most of my assets, when the price showed $ 80k, my planning to sell the Bitcoin assets I owned began to be carried out and it went through a bearish period when the Bitcoin price dropped from $ 70k to $ 60k, I was strong in that phase because I believed the bullish phase would occur a few weeks later. And fortunately for me, my prediction turned out to be right, Bitcoin touched $ 99k, and I sold the assets gradually.

We can't comment on your strategy, that's your and so it's good to hear that you profited when the price hits $99k. But for me I just continue to hold and save when I can. I don't have plans to sell at least I'm seeing like $120k or more before I do and then see how it goes.

But I guess you can go back again in the market as the price did go on a correction and maybe start all over again.

And this is the real beauty of it, you can go back anytime you want and re-invest and start the process all over again.

Sure, everyone has their own target. It is okay to take profits at $80k, $85k, $90k, $95k, or even $99k. Taking profits gradually when it reaches the target is not bad way. I also did it, I have sold few of my Bitcoin. However, I'm still holding some of my Bitcoin and I only sell them when the price of Bitcoin above $100k. If you target to sell at $100k, kindly keep holding your Bitcoin.  ;)

Everyone must have patience. We can't succeed in crypto investment if we have no patience. Moreover if we are holding for a long term, we must be patient to wait for few years.

In the case of Bitcoin, the demand of investors is always growing. Maybe the bearishness in the market greatly affects the emotions of investors, but those who stick to Bitcoin at that time have the opportunity to create more assets, which does not happen in the case of other coins. There are many investors who did not sell their Bitcoin during the last bull run, but they held it and tried to collect more Bitcoin. Today, all those investors have been successful. Again, there are many who lost Bitcoin and moved to altcoins and lost their money. A strong holding hand in the case of Bitcoin will definitely benefit. Everyone who believes in long-term plans with Bitcoin has benefited.

Again, there are many who lost Bitcoin and moved to altcoins and lost their money. A strong holding hand in the case of Bitcoin will definitely benefit. Everyone who believes in long-term plans with Bitcoin has benefited.
Patience is the key to their success in holding bitcoin, maybe they were late to sell bitcoin at the time of the last ATH, but they did not give up and immediately sold bitcoin. However, what they did was to continue to accumulate bitcoin in the portfolio.

Now as you said they must have made a big profit with the increase in bitcoin that has occurred lately. Well that is the fruit of patience and also this is the fruit of their belief in bitcoin which finally brought big profits.

I agree with you. If you invest in wrong cryptocurrency you might lose money no matter how long you hold it. This can make people think that holding cryptocurrency for long time is bad idea. But that is not true. Fear and worry can also cause problems for investors. When market goes down it is normal to feel nervous. But selling your assets quickly can be bad. If you sell during downturn you might lose a lot of money. But it is essential to remember that market will always go up and down and good investment plan should take that into account.

As long as I’m concerned long term HODLing is the only strategy that enables to adequately mitigate and in some cases completely avoid the risks of losses as well as to ensure long term profitability. HODLing only requires two things from an investor, 1. Patience to hodl through any market conditions that comes up, without feeling the need to sell due to fear of a crash or losing your money. And 2. To have a reliable and sustainable source of income, this enables you to weather all sort of Emergencies or financial crises that may arise in the future without having to dip into your investment.

In practise, this means that we must be prepared to fight every market condition with our head relaxed and have a go after our first goals. We are not forced to sell our assets at the less favourable time because we have a steady income outside investment. Step by step this will push you to achieve the results you need even though it takes time and dedication to get there.

Yes patience kills it all if you have been able to HODL since day 1 especially when Bitcoin hasn't risen to this amount I wonder how a person should start selling their Bitcoin. Now that Bitcoin is in the stage of bull run it won't make sense to even let go of even a dine of it.

Yes, Holding Bitcoin to some extent requires that a Holder can take some profit especially when price has increased even above expectations. For example, those holding Bitcoin when the price was at $50k to $60k can consider to take some profit by selling a small amounts of their Bitcoin holdings in my opinion.
Patience is actually the key to Holding Bitcoin and other crypto assets, and it is advisable to Hold some fractions of Bitcoin, even as a trader to generate additional income in near future.

Investing in cryptocurrency requires careful consideration, as market volatility can result in losses. It's essential to invest in the right cryptocurrency, invest in cryptocurrencies that you trust and have confidence in, allowing you to hold your assets for as long as necessary.

Market fluctuations can evoke anxiety and nervousness, especially during downturns. However, it's crucial to maintain courage and motivation. Remind yourself that market recovery is possible, and prices may even rise higher than before, resulting in significant gains.

Patience is vital when hodling cryptocurrency assets. Markets can be volatile, and it's essential to avoid impulsive decisions. Refrain from rushing to sell your assets, as you can't predict future market movements. Instead, remain patient and adapt to changing market conditions.

Indeed. When we invest in crypto coins, we must be very careful. Sure, crypto market is very volatile and unpredictable. The trend in crypto market can change in a short time. So, there is always the chance for high profits or severe losses. That's why crypto investment is categorized as a high risk investment.

Patience is vital when hodling cryptocurrency assets. Markets can be volatile, and it's essential to avoid impulsive decisions. Refrain from rushing to sell your assets, as you can't predict future market movements. Instead, remain patient and adapt to changing market conditions.
Patience is one of the keys for the success in crypto investment. If we have no patient, there is no way to succeed because there are many FUDs and corrections as a challenge for holding a long term. However, not only patience, we must also have proper knowledge and experience as well.

Indeed, no one needs if Patience is the key, yes, one of the keys to success in research. Because in any case, patience must be equipped and also supported by sufficient knowledge about crypto, so that there is no wrong step to be patient in a particular coin. Because basically there are many shit coins that do not need to be waited for patiently, CL might be better if at least it is no longer valuable.

But overall, we really need to be patient, because if not, we might have sold all our crypto assets when we were in a down condition and because we were afraid, we just sold them. This is quite dangerous and patience must be implemented in conditions and situations like this.

Patience would really be that entirely useless if there would really be no analysis that had been added into on which it will really be that something standard or casual to do so because holding into something on random manner wont really be giving out that kind of possible succeess not unless if you've been lucky on holding into something and been pumped out by some whales then
that would be worth but what if not? Its better to hold up with those well established coins rather than on trying out to have some risking when it comes into those coins on which you dont even know if its worth on holding on.

Most times, maintaining a long term approach helps us weather whatever storm that may likely hit the market, this is because these storms mostly has the ability to impact the market in the short term and only those that are in the market for its short term benefits are most likely to be affected by the storms that hit the market. But if/when we maintain a long term approach, as well as keeping a leveled head, we may able to look pass the temporary fluctuations of the market and avoid making impulsive decisions.

If you do not hold in cryptocurrency, there is less possibility of making profit. It is certainly difficult for those who do not hold and try to get the expected results. So it is very necessary for an investor to play the role of a holder. But there is no way to say that becoming a holder is very easy. There is no alternative to an investor being patient to hold and it is important for the investor to see what he is holding before investing. If there is no reliable coin for investment, then there is no benefit in holding, rather in the long term, nothing but disappointment. Those who can hold their assets for a long time with sufficient research and analysis will definitely be able to earn expected profit.

It’s just as you’ve said, one should hold on to assets they’ve managed to build some level of trust and confidence in, assets they believe strongly in their long term potentials, because that’s the only way one can be able to weather and withstand the inconsistencies and volatility of the market, especially in market downturns, because when you really trust in the longevity of the asset, it’ll reduce the panic and tension you’ll feel, thereby helping you to manage your emotions effectively.

If you are a long-term investor, you cannot lose your patience, because you cannot be a long-term holder if you are not patient. That is the literal logic of it, right? It's just that not all are long-term holders, some of them are both short and long-term holders.

And I am in that category, and the majority of the crypto assets I hold are actually in altcoins and I am not ashamed of that or denying it, because as they say,
don't put all your eggs in one basket, that's all.

Any diversification that is based on altcoins are not actually diversification but rather an easy channels to create huge lost, though I might not know the numbers of altcoin you are holding but holding only altcoin without bitcoin inclusively is like creating a pit for huge dump. Today lot of things happen to people based on their choices to hold shitcoin for long they lose while some of them gain more but what is mostly considered is how reliable these could be to them. So if you think you are that reliable with the coin you are holding then fine you can hold them until you gain the exact profits you wishes.

I agree with you, patience in HOLD requires extra funds where we have to use unused funds. For that we must have other income that does not interfere with the assets we hold. lucky for those who have jobs in the real world and earn income to meet their living needs so they can hold calmly without being disturbed by having to sell coins to meet their needs.

In order to avoid emotional reactions in managing the assets one needs to know when and how to invest and how to meet day to day needs. That way, we can retain a position without the stress of selling at an undesirable moment creating other sources of revenue. If properly balanced we can sustain the long-term strategy while at the same time sustaining our general living needs. This results in ability for us to operating more confidently in the market which is an advantage.

Honestly, it didn't requires any patience if you have extra funds because you won't make sacrifices and then the discipline won't work in that way. When bearish trend continues longer than expected then a lot of investors sell off their assets. If a investor has spare funds to invest in that case he can hold his assets for long period, but other investors have no other option but to sell off.

Any investor that decides to sell off Bitcoin holdings because of a prolonged bear run can be described as a short term investors, while a long term investors holds their assets in whatever conditions of the market. Remember that there are still investors holding theirs position since 2018 counting and has no intention of selling in near future.
In addition, the categories of investor that sell off during bear run can be described as emotional investors, and to be a strong investors, you must learn to deal with emotions to be successful.

There are others who invest because they're just following the trend or hype and there are also others who first study the crypto assets they're investing in to see if it really has potential or not, so they don't just get carried away by the trend or hype.

Investing for the long term requires patience and if we decide to hold for the long term of course this requires free capital and is not needed in the near future.
but there are also some investors who choose the short and medium term, it all depends on their respective plans and strategies.
There are investors who only follow trends and hype, this is very risky so you really have to do the right research and analysis so you don't lose.

Yes, that's right, for long-term investors, one of the most important things is patience. Imagine if we only have a little patience, then when the market experiences a slight correction, we immediately get emotional and panic, making decisions that are not based on anything or just because we panic, this is really bad, because it can drive our decisions to be hasty and panic selling.

Patience and discipline are 2 different things. However, it is true that both of them are needed in crypto investment. What do you mean by extra funds? Sure, we can buy other coins as long as we have capital. But we shouldn't force ourselves to buy more if we have very limited funds. Just invest in the amount of money that we afford to lose!!

Sustaining the decision to keep a cool head when differentials are present is one factor that is quite praiseworthy given that many of the objectives that are enshrined are quite clear. The patience that is developed when one is able to hold an asset for sometime is one of the most important facets of addressing so many changes that are present in the market. When the perspective of the business is longer than the period necessary to achieve the main goals, the might to follow the plan that has been designed will pull through through different events including when the market is bearish. This demonstrates that determination will create opportunity for the achievement of the target that has been crafted. As the result of knowledge from experience and understanding the risks taken, such steps can lead to good results in future.

Well, there is no alternative to holding Bitcoin to be profitable from investing. If a person cannot hold Bitcoin or does not have the desire to hold it, then Bitcoin is not for him. Holding it is not an easy task. There may be many of us holders, when we find a small amount of profit, we take the role of a trader and when we lose, we take the role of a holder. If our behavior in Bitcoin is like this, then holding Bitcoin is meaning less.  Who will be able to profit from Bitcoin will be able to hold their Bitcoin even in any adverse situation.

Correct and I agree with you on this one but only those who can do this are pure investors with stable source of income. But for us who has unstable source this is not gonna work because holding for long term will only hurt our purses and just give us stress especially in an unfavorable situation. Hopefully I may able to get a stable source of income so I can forget my investments for long.

If we do not have extra money or other more stable income, then we will definitely not be calm when investing. Because we will think about getting faster profits and then withdrawing the money for our daily needs, and of course that is not an easy thing to do because the price of crypto is not necessarily the same as what we want. However, if our finances are sufficient, then of course we can hold our coins longer to get bigger profits of course.

Of course, because we will definitely be required by circumstances, by needs, and various other confusing things that require money. This must also be experienced by most people. Therefore, every time you want to invest, make sure it uses money that is truly free money, which is set aside for investment, not for daily needs or other urgent needs. And this certainly requires a sacrifice that is not small, because sometimes the money is very limited and wants to be used but is willing to let it go to invest. From here, we must ensure that what we invest should be something that is truly valuable, and not shit coins. because the risk is too great.

How we invest if we have no stable income? If we have no stable income, we must have no extra money. We must always have no enough money without a stable income. In this condition, we probably never think to invest in any asset. Anyway, we may get faster profits in crypto through trading. But it requires good knowledge, it won't be very easy to do. We also need to know that trading won't get a huge profit as in investment. If we want to get huge profits, it must be through a long term holding.

We, who must have a steady income so that our crypto investment is not disturbed, we can focus on long-term holding.
Trading can indeed get higher profits for a professional trader, but this requires long knowledge and experience to become a professional trader, maybe more than 3 years.
I also learned trading for a long time. but still in the learning stage

Sometimes someone does the wrong thing in crypto investment, they don't have enough money but force to invest because maybe the lure of getting big profits in a short time. Then they use borrowed money or sell their real assets for investment, but sometimes what is done is not in accordance with what is expected.

That is why it's always important to use the money we can risk to do investment even though the hype is persistently coming we shouldn't be carried away by the way people around are talking about the coin/such investment.
Whenever people invest with what they can afford to lose it makes that easier not to panic when that investment is going on the contrary, because you have the capacity to accept the lose that is coming than hoping for a higher returns.

There are many investors who behave like this. I often see this tendency, especially among those who are new to cryptocurrency. They invest without checking anything and only hoping to make a profit, and later they lose their money. If he had patiently understood the issues well and then invested, he would not have suffered. Greed and inability to be patient are both major causes of loss in this concern.

for newbies they only think about getting profit easily, without understanding market behavior and the risk of investing. Greed will make us not think logically. and this is what makes us lose because of losses because we do not do the analysis properly. It takes patience and focus in investing.

Not every newbie thinks in that way. There are also newbies who focus on learning, they understand that they must have sufficient knowledge firstly. Newbies who suddenly think to gain profits, they must be influenced by success investors/traders. Unfortunately, they are not trying to know how they success traders/investors can do it. If they learn it, they must know that it is not easy to succeed or to get profits in crypto space.

However, yes, it will also depend on each individual, how they deal with mixed things, especially those related to spending money. because often there are those who are indeed very careful and calculating, there are also those who just jump in and don't think about all the risks and possibilities.

meaning, when newbies make mistakes, it actually happens very often, but what makes the difference is how they behave at first and also after evaluation. sometimes there are those who are really desperate and immediately leave this crypto world. but there are also those who don't give up easily and finally want to learn everything related to crypto, and finally get used to it..

Unfortunately, there is still many inexperienced people who are too eager to make their decisions ad hoc one of them is the investment world which, on the contrary, requires maximum attention to all factors affecting it including the information disclosed in making the decision. When we engage ourselves in it, relaxation and evidence based decision is the best way of making sure that we do not act in haste. Not only the utilitarian calculus of the expected outcomes, but also even the process by means of which we are trained to assimilate the old patterns and rationally avoid dangerous pitfalls. Each action with which more attention is paid will be associated with a higher probability of obtaining the stabilisation of results. So it it important for the beginners to endure the time and learn basics as well as control the emotions which goes a long way in prudent investment. This serves as a strengthening factor as regards the future.

Agree through and through.
Expertise comes from experience, and you cannot work on it until you have some knowledge built beforehand.
Otherwise, you may be rugged/tempted to do some things pretty quickly.

It is natural for newbies to make mistakes because their knowledge and experience are not much. and those mistakes are lessons for the future so as not to repeat the same mistakes.
I also often make mistakes in analysis and strategy, but that makes me understand and improve the analysis and strategy that I will run.

I agree patience is the key to hold if you don't have a patience you cant hold anymore, that is why i believe that crypto is not for the people who don't have enough patience because they will surely loss specially in bear seasons, they cant imagine how the 5k$ turn into 1k$ and they will sell on loss.patience is the most important tools to earn in crypto based on my experience and also base on the expert advices.

Yep, you can't hold coins for a long term if you have no patience.  :D
However, someone can't ensure that he has a good patience because of his nature or the potential of the coin itself. He knows the good potential of the coin in the future, so it is the reason for holding with a patience. If he knows it won't have a good future, he won't hold with a patience. IMO, patience has something to do with knowledge and with our nature as well.

Patience is definitely the key to success in holding. Especially for those who have bought Bitcoin in the past and held it patiently, they have now achieved such success that it is unimaginable. If an investor bought Bitcoin around 2010 and held it until now, they would have made so much profit that by today's calculations, anyone would become a billionaire. So these are all the results of patience that an impatient holder will not be able to easily grasp.

I agree patience is the key to success. A[moreover if you buy bitcoin at the beginning when bitcoin is still cheap and hold it until now of course you will get high results, but that requires free money. We have life needs of course sometimes we will also sell our crypto assets if suddenly there is a sudden and very urgent need. this is the difficulty I experience for long-term holding.

If you are holding for long term then this will be that needing up that patience on which being a diamond hands is never been that easy even if it means that you are holding up your position simply and doing nothing specially if you are doing making up some checks on the market condition. On the time that you will be making out some short term trades or having some swing approach then too much patience will really be that having that disadvantage because making up some short term approach does need up that exact timing on when to take up profits on which this is really that relevant that you do need up such action. If you do missed out on doing so then this is where you will be having regrets because you had that have passed out that money making or profit opportunity because you've been holding up that too much and thats the disadvantage of it.

Being long term holding need much patience waiting for and diamond hand very important crucial aspect if want to be long term holding, some time the trader or holder have set up their investment for long teem holding but don't miss opening the market condition in daily day make them have to se before price raising up.
I think if want to be long term holding avoid from daily day checking about market price and keep waiting for longer time until price up based on their target reach. I don't have any ideas yet to be long term holding because my financial not freedom yet and must set up profit as soon possible.

Patience in a sudden bear market is what you do step towards successful profit. For your research, there are many opportunities on the older notable sites Cointelegraph, where there are pre-listing sales.

I point out to you that there is much risk in hodling altcoin than when hodl Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the only asset you can have, that has less risk.

Towards the bearish market, not every altcoin survives it to make it to the bull run or get to their previous ATH during the Bull run. But for Bitcoin, it does skyrocket more than expected during the bull run.

Many investors get scared of the bearish market because altcoins they hodl in their portfolio fall deeply when Bitcoin falls in price but they don't increase in the same way Bitcoin increases in price. That makes Bitcoin to be the safe investment to have in the crypto space

If you have succeed to take profits, you don't need anything when the bearish season is coming. It is only a problem if you didn't take the profits but the bearish season suddenly comes. I think we don't trust certain source like Cointelegraph, we must take a look from varied media social or sites. Sometimes, a site can be quite subjective. They don't give objective news. It is better to do own research if we want to know the potential market trends in the future.

Yes without patience holding is not possible. And because of this, there are very few people who can do tight holding.  Paniciness works in everyone because everyone suffers from loss. Holding requires patience as well as the ability to accept risk. The more financially strong one is, the more risk they can take, so it is important to be patient and financially strong enough to take risks.
