There are two things I’ve observed that will make a Hodler to experience losses, 1 is holding on to the wrong token (shitcoins or any coin that’s not Bitcoin) when an investor holds on to the wrong coin that has little or no long term potential for growth, regardless of how long they hodl, rather than seeing profits, they may likely encounter losses and then they generalize their experience to other coins or the act of HODLing itself which is very wrong.
Another reason is fear and anxiety, when an investor holds for long and is expecting a growth in his portfolio and then all of a sudden, they encounter a Dip, which is an inevitable aspect of the market, and when this happens, due to fear and anxiety, it causes them to indulge in panic sales, making them to liquidate their assets in the middle of a bleeding market and when that happens, they experience losses and term HODLing as a terrible technique.
I agree with you. If you invest in wrong cryptocurrency you might lose money no matter how long you hold it. This can make people think that holding cryptocurrency for long time is bad idea. But that is not true. Fear and worry can also cause problems for investors. When market goes down it is normal to feel nervous. But selling your assets quickly can be bad. If you sell during downturn you might lose a lot of money. But it is essential to remember that market will always go up and down and good investment plan should take that into account.
Investing in cryptocurrency requires careful consideration, as market volatility can result in losses. It's essential to invest in the right cryptocurrency, invest in cryptocurrencies that you trust and have confidence in, allowing you to hold your assets for as long as necessary.
Market fluctuations can evoke anxiety and nervousness, especially during downturns. However, it's crucial to maintain courage and motivation. Remind yourself that market recovery is possible, and prices may even rise higher than before, resulting in significant gains.
Patience is vital when hodling cryptocurrency assets. Markets can be volatile, and it's essential to avoid impulsive decisions. Refrain from rushing to sell your assets, as you can't predict future market movements. Instead, remain patient and adapt to changing market conditions.
