Every coin has its own compatible wallet with which it supports. You cannot send BTC to an ERC based wallet. It is very necessary to know which wallet you choose for a particular coin. Moreover, with the ERC based coins, a lot of wallets have been generated in recent times but remember, not all wallets are worth keeping your coins. For ERC coins, the best wallet is "myetherwallet".

Very useful information. I also think so. Choosing the right wallet is very important to ensure that our coins are save. The balances and profits in the crypto may be determined by what kind of wallet we use. It will also determine the security of the coins int he wallet. SO, just be careful in choosing the right wallet for certain coins.

Yes, many are wrong in sending crypto. like etc and eth have almost the same name that is ethereum but they have a different wallet address.

It is really needed to keep our wallet in a safe place to avoid hackers to steal it. And I am confident choosing myetherwallet for keeping my coins as a safer invironment that are already tested and relied for the long time. And we must be careful for the right information that will support to our wallet by avoiding wallet address interchanged or making a typo error on it. This may caused losing our coins if this will happen.

Thanks for the information but I want to know if a coin can even be transferred to a wallet which is not compatible in the first place

Tokens and wallet must be related to each other to have enough ending when succeeded. This is not about trying and error. This is all about caring your tokens like a millions of dollars. Once mistake to send to incompatible wallet, it would be forever lose.

Something that can be avoided by being meticulous when transferring any coins or tokens. There will always be directions available, don't rush any transactions, the extra time taken to double/triple check the addresses will be worth it in the long run.
-
I think that for ERC20 tokens the most important thinig is to choose a wallet which you have private key..so if for example you use EIDOO and this is not supporting some coins, you can login with private key to MyEtherWallet and solve the problem...

Yes I agree, I think The best wallet is myetherwallet. It is useful and secure.

Yes, this must be known by beginners who start doing business in Crypto. like crypto numbers at the moment, the number and wallet are different in each type of crypto. but for tokens it is more dominant using a wallet that provides the ERC platform. I prefer to use imtoken because it's easier to access.

You can loose money in any wallet, it easy, now hackers dont know borders! I think the most safe place it hardware wallets.. all cloud wallets not safe.
-
Yeah I also trust MEW since it has the capabilities and also it is secured. The MetaMask has been really helping me too. Thanks to ETH.
-
Of course, there are some wallets that people complain that they lose their tokens and it is susceptible to hackers. Myetherwallet is really good because it is very safe.
-
Yes there is this possibility, that's the main reason why I use an hardware wallet like Ledger Nano S or trezor to login to MEW or other wallets.
-
I think the wallet does not matter because any wallet has its own designated exchange compatibility so we should not afraid but instead we must keep our wallet from any hackers that may cause of losing our coins.
-
Obviously Yes. You will lose your tokens if the wallet is not right. Stick to your old address if nothing is wrong with it.
-
Yes, you can lose your coin if you choose the wallet incorrectly. because there are so many hackers who are looking for people to get coins for free. We recommend using a wallet that has been tested for quality and used by many people, and most importantly, keep your wallet private key.

Yes, I agree mate. I prefer believe myetherwallet to keep my coin. I think It is secure.

Hardware wallets are the best of course, ledger or trezor.
However if you are trading, daily or swing you have to use software ones.
MEW is a great wallet for ERCs, always use it with Metamask extension. otherwise you may end up loosing your wallet...
