This is definitely a good observation but I would advise you to keep in mind the world is rarely that black and white. The sets of functionality each posses are not disjoint!
They attack different parts of the market AND they attack some of the same parts. This makes them compete AND not compete.

This is not a treat to bitcoin ethereum is now really becoming more popular but if we are going to take a look at the price of it maybe we can really see that it is too far from the price of the bitcoin. If it's true. I am very happy if Ethereum really will become the new king in the Crypto World. I don't think that ethereum is a threat to bitcoin although it's possible. Ethereum still needs to continue the project if they want to beat bitcoin and it will not happen in the next year. And if we check the history of bitcoin itself, bitcoin needs more than ten years to become popular although ethereum doesn't need to long to become famous but still, ethereum needs to increase the price more than $3000, and it's not easy.

I don’t see Etherium as a threat to Bitcoin however I do think it is possible that Etherium could pass Bitcoin in market cap.
The reason I don’t consider this as a threat is that I believe that these two coins have different uses. I see Bitcoin admire if a store of value like digital gold. I see Etherium as more of a platform for tokens. I think they will both exist together.

On the other hand, bitcoin is a real big threat to ETH. Bitcoin cam anipylate the market price of alts since it has the highest rate of price and if I were a bitcoin investor I won't irobably ETH to get the highest place so I will buy ETH at it's lower price, wait for it to reach it's peak and sell it vigorous ly which can make its price lower than before when CH is a great dumping of big investors. Thus, in that way, BTC holders are a lot more threat to ETH.

For me, I think Ethereum is not a threat to bitcoin considering that bitcoin is too strong and the market value is too expensive in which the market value of bitcoin is higher than 30X compare to ethereum and aside from that bitcoin is still very popular and currently use as form of payment in different establishment in some countries.

For me Ethereum is a good coin. And for me Ethereum for me does threaten Bitcoin. Because not a few Bitcoin users are moving to Ethereum, and that is indeed happening now. But if for price issues, Bitcion is still a king and the difference from Ethereum alone is far superior to Bitcoin. Until now Bitcoin was still the king of Cryptocurrency. And I suppose the development process of Ethereum is very long. Ethereum is indeed a very good coin and has a good potential to become a Cryptocurrency king to replace Bitcoin.
