Do not be deceived into thinking that Trump all of a sudden now understands the crypto industry and does not mind aiding in its growth, that is a lie; all of this is just methods of scoring cheap points in the election that's coming.

Do not waste your time on what politicians really say, there is few truth in it. I would not call any of them a 'crypto president', and i don't think any of them will be committed to the crypto cause if elected.

Crypto can be very good in fighting inflation but implementing crypto on a national scale can come with many risks and governments are not yet ready to experiment.
Nobody is talking about this, we are not discussing about crypto replacing fiat, but rather the governments attack on BTC privacy solutions.
From a positive perspective, I also hope that the government will find a way to manage the crypto market, thereby helping crypto to become more widely accepted, mature, and Mixers will be allowed to operate legally when they can support governments in preventing money laundering.
We don't need the government to 'manage' a decentralized network like BTC, that is simply not possible. Take note as well that if the government and mixers work together, that would defeat the purpose as to why people use mixers. Mixers aren't supposed to look into the history of your utxo or its origin for money laundering traces, nor to provide selective privacy, and so what you propose would never happen.

The campaign is cfnp, you all have to wait for icopress to open a slot before you apply, and right now there is no open slot.

The reason government gives is just absurd, they don't want people to have decentralised monetary system so they are going after it one by one, I am sure they will come at the forum but that might not be on their priority for now
The problem for the government is not decentralized money, i.e. they are not really after BTC in itself, which is the only truly decentralized money. What they are after is privacy solutions, they don't want people to use BTC privately, they want to be able to track your coins easily, but privacy tools make it difficult for them, and so their goal is to make it hard for them to operate.

Honestly, I'm more interested in what the forum administration will do if they receive an official request to remove mixers from the forum?
The admin in the other forum didn't receive any official request to remove mixers before they did, and the presence of mixers was far higher there than what we have here, so in my honest opinion i don't think this will happen.

However, if we hypothetically agree that it happens, then mixers will have limited places to advertise their business, and newbies will likely fall for scam mixers easier.

There are many new coins that have emerged with amazing developments.
It has many users because it was developed quite a long time before doing mainnet.
But not all of them will be lucky, there are many new coins that will eventually just be abandoned and become useless garbage.
I cannot really speak so well of new coins and projects, and if there are successful ones, they are very few compared to the huge numbers of scam and useless coins or tokens. I don't recommend new coins to newbies, it is one of the fastest ways for them to leave the network, because once they lose money to new coins, they believe every crypto is a scam.

At least at this point, MixTum is still a reliable option for me to use to protect myself 8)
Yeah it is, and i hope it continues that way for a very long time, regardless of the incessant attacks by the government against privacy solutions. Mixers are very important to bitcoiners who want to maintain their privacy and i hope we would always be able to use services like MixTum and other legitimate services too.

Craig Wright is a liar and a conman and i hope the court agrees that he covers 85% of copa's legal cost in the case that he lost. He should also be charged for lying and impersonating the person of Satoshi for many years, since the court has already ruled that he is not Satoshi. Craig has attacked the BTC network for such a long time and i hope it comes to an end sooner rather than later.

You are correct, i am not one of BTC's early adopters, but i am glad that i took interest in it when i found out about it, there are so many people that were misled by the media about BTC, and they lost interest without even trying to find out things by themselves. I am glad and thankful that Satoshi created something like BTC, and it can only get better for bitcoiners.

I practically do not know what to do here since I got my account teleported here. maybe someone can help me out.
Since you are a member in other crypto forums and you are not new to forums, then you are simply going to do what you do in other forums here, and that is to discuss on matters that interest you. It is not at all complicated, join discussions you have knowledge about, create topics if you like, just be a usual quality forum user.

Things like 'points', 'karma', etc, may be new to you, but you can also search the forum for information on that, or create new threads to inquire about that.

Centralized exchanges just want to make money and most of them are usually into one shady thing or the other. I don't like Gensler, neither do i like how the U.S government is 'attacking' the crypto industry, but i think it is important that they continue to look into how these exchanges operate and in the process try to protect customers funds.

However, people should learn from recent events and store their coins in their self custody if they don't wanna lose it in one exchange or the other.

Can there be things we can do as individual cryptocurrency supporters to help in limiting the reach of these ever adaptive and enticing scams? Or should we resigned to accept that this is already a normal way of life in this industry?
You can only help to educate the people around you or people you know about how these scammers operate, there are a lot of articles online and crypto forums that people can join and learn how to protect their funds from scammers. I believe that for someone who owns crypto, they should try and stay updated on all possible ways to avoid losing their coins to scammers.

However, it is important to point out that there are scammers in every industry, there are a lot of scammers stealing fiat currencies from people regularly too, so sometimes the media tries to attack crypto with unending reports of crypto scams.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Cryptocurrency good or bad for loan?
« on: June 05, 2024, 12:05:47 AM »
People who just started with their regular jobs (that pays decent) usually don't have enough savings but they could take advantage of the price drops by borrowing.
This makes sense and this could be the only scenerio that i can take borrowing to be acceptable, in this case the person just got into a job that would pay them a decent amount every month and with that they can pay their debt.

This is obviously more sensible that someone who borrows to buy BTC, with the intention of paying their debt through the possible profit they can get from the investment.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Indonesia Opens a Bitcoin House in Bali
« on: June 04, 2024, 10:28:30 PM »
I find it's weird the tweet says it'll show many potentials of Bitcoin when Indonesia doesn't allow Bitcoin as payment method. So i expect they refer to investment or asset when they use word "potentials".
I didn't even know BTC payments is illegal in Indonesia, i have checked and you are correct, i initially even thought that one would be able to spend BTC on certain things which may be sold in the BTC house, but i was wrong.

Maybe the house is simply to discuss about BTC, how to buy it and store it for long term returns. There is limited info about this BTC house, let's hope there would be more info sometime later.

It's a bit low, so now the transaction fee in mixtum is still at that price if I use its function? I only experienced that once and didn't follow it, and recently I thought of learning and practicing the mixing process in bitcoin actually.
You can use MixTum for commission-free mixing. But take note that you must cover the on-chain fees of depositing your coins for mixing, that's the only fee you'll pay if you decide to use that option, but you must deposit exactly 0.001 BTC.
