« on: December 07, 2020, 09:38:31 AM »
Nowadays, cryptocurrency is a well-known transaction system. By using cryptocurrency, one can easily transfer money at a low cost. One can make private transactions. By doing some small tasks, one can also earn cryptocurrencies.

But there are some dark sides of cryptocurrencies. Unfortunately, some people are using cryptocurrencies for illegal activities. Criminals are using cryptocurrencies for kidnapping, ransomware, and terrorism in the darknet marketplaces. Even cryptocurrencies are being used for drug dealings, child pornography, and even for murder on the dark web. Seizing this opportunity, hackers are also hacking cryptocurrency system and stealing a lot of money. Some people have been using cryptocurrencies for laundering dirty money, scamming and so on.

Cryptocurrencies are very useful and breathtaking for all of us, but we also can not deny it's dark sides.

Legality & Taxation of Cryptos / Bitcoin and Illegal Activities
« on: December 06, 2020, 09:56:34 AM »
Bitcoin, the most popular cryptocurrency, is often considered to be a potential barrier breaker of the world's traditional finance. Comprising the largest cryptocurrency market share, Bitcoin nowadays is also facing the challenges of proper rules and regulations. As a result, criminals are using Bitcoin in their illegal activities, and it is being used as a source of funding in various dangerous criminal activities.

According to a review of financial studies that was published in 2018, among the total transactions of Bitcoin, 46 per cent are used for illegal activities every year, and the estimated cost is $76 billion. This amount is the same as the scale of the illegal drugs in the European and US markets. This study also suggests that Bitcoin conducts transformations of black markets as it is helping the black market to enable "black e-commerce".

In conclusion, it can be said that criminals will use Bitcoin continuously for their various illicit purposes. It is because this thing happens with all the assets. But it can be controlled by strong tracking and ensuring strict rules and regulations.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: HOW CAN WE END THE VOLATILITY?
« on: December 05, 2020, 06:13:15 PM »
WAYS OF HANDLING BITCOIN VOLATILITY

MANY investors have yield immense return from Bitcoin, the world's greatest digital currency.

Market Analysts states some of the points below:

Small Market Base
Bitcoin market base just as other digital currencies, is relatively small opposed to traditional assets such as stocks, bonds and fiat currencies.

Low Liquidity
Cryptocurrency analysts states that, Bitcoin suffers from liquidity problems, which could in turn be contributing to bitcoin's sharp volatility.
Having less liquidity—instead of more—can potentially exacerbate price fluctuations, making it so that the digital currency's inevitable declines are more severe than they would be otherwise.

Regulation
Founded in 2009, several governments through their agencies have made efforts to regulate bitcoin, along with other digital currencies making regulation another potentially area contributing to bitcoin's intense volatility.

« on: December 04, 2020, 08:35:38 PM »
Cryptocurrency Day trading involves making trades that last within short period for example, seconds or minutes, taking advantage of short-term fluctuations in an asset's price. With day trading, all positions are opened and closed within the same day. Long-term investing, on the other hand, consists of making trades that stay open for months, and often years.

Voting / Re: ETH vs BTC: Which coin will perform better in 2021?
« on: December 04, 2020, 04:12:06 PM »
Another 2021 question for you, the classic one. Which coin will do better in 2021, the largest cryptocurrency Bitcoin or the largest altcoin Ethereum?

  • Currently Bitcoin sits at $19K, around 5% down from all time high. Ethereum is 60% down from all time high at around $600.
  • Furthermore ETH is still down 80% from it's all time high against Bitcoin in not January 2017, but June 2017.
  • Bitcoin is being adopted by paypal and now visa have changed their tune, while Ethereum is launching 2.0 sidechain.

Personally for 2021, I'm thinking Ethereum and will continue to accumulate for this reason. For 2020 I thought Bitcoin would do better until 2021 came around, but in fact ETH outperformed BTC by 75% at present, so looks like I was wrong about that.

As bitcoin has already reached around an all-time high and Ethereum still has a long way to go to get ATH, so I believe It has got an excellent chance to do well in 2021. Also, with the launch of Ethereum 2.0 and the boom of Defi projects, Ethereum has been getting a lot of attention recently.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Gold or Bitcoin
« on: December 03, 2020, 05:49:29 PM »
Let's say I have a huge amount of money as an investor, where do I put them? Bitcoin or Gold

We all know that gold is known for its stability which could be vital in times of financial crisis; but doesn't exactly bring good return  WHILE Bitcoin on the other hand can be quite profitable  but it's risk of negative volatility can be catastrophic!

So which has your vote? Gold or Bitcoin!

Although it is very risky, for short-term financial gains bitcoin is very good, you can make a lot of profit in a very quick time. On the other hand, for the long-term investment, you have to choose Gold. It's more reliable compared to bitcoin.

A lot of traders have feared that the market could collapse at any time, so many of them are very scary. Certainly, we have to be very careful, as the bull run can't continue indefinite period. It can take reverse gear anytime.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Do not borrow money to invest in crypto
« on: December 03, 2020, 03:31:27 PM »
It has never been a good idea to invest in cryptocurrency by borrowing money. Because cryptocurrency is a very risky investment, things can go wrong anytime. If you have got spare funds, only then think of investing in crypto.
