Ok will move it to scams

It's great to see reply from you. I had some other proposals aiming to make forum better. If possible, please take a look and make some amendments:
Some improvements that'll make the forum better
Some thoughts on pointing system

Suggestion Box / Remove Bitconnect childboard from ALTT forum
« on: November 03, 2018, 03:05:29 AM »
Bitconnect - one of the biggest Ponzi Scheme in crypto world doesn't deserve a child board in our forum, does it? It's been shut down by law enforcement for long time and should sink into history.
Here's the link to forum's Bitconnect childboard: https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?board=100.0

Forum related / Re: What Do You Love About Altcoins Forum?
« on: November 01, 2018, 03:45:13 PM »
Those are two reasons why I love Altcoins Forum.

I see, you have a great love and passion for ALTT. 60 posts within the first day after registration.
Your name is nowhere but everywhere in this board.

Please anyone give him a karma for his dedication to the forum?

Here on altcoinstalks forum we have also the possibility to do that.

This is a Moderator's function. In reality, when a post get moved, it only shows "Moved". Those features I mentioned above can be applied to both moderator and member.

1385
In the forum X, when your post get deleted, a message notification will be sent to your inbox with popular reason: "Off topic". It won't help you understand what/where you're wrong. Here's what I can elaborate on your idea: giving reason for deleting post.
When a moderator delete a post, a box shown up like this:

When a reason is given and the deletion is confirmed, it should be shown like this:

The same procedure can be applied when giving negative karma

Forum related / Some thoughts on pointing system
« on: October 30, 2018, 06:02:31 AM »
There are some factors affecting pointing systems, as "admin" once mentioned:
there is 3 systems of compensation on posts and replies
1- the flat compensation : 1 point per reply / i sometimes vary it but currently at 1 point
2- the per word system : currently disabled because we are working some modifications on it / will be activated if / when over.
3- karma > which should be the main drive behind replies > quality replies get karma , 1 karma = 10-60 points when processed on withdrawal

Karma was born to promote posting and post quality but it doesn't play any role in awarding point. A poster with high amount of karma tends to produce higher quality post than a low-karma poster. Besides, posts on "News related to cryptos", "Blockchain and technology", "Legality & Taxation of Cryptos", "Banks & Cryptos" and their child boards, which mostly are copy-paste from news article should be low-pointed.

Forum related / Re: How to get a positive Karma point fast
« on: October 29, 2018, 06:05:14 AM »
[...]based on the quality of the article or video 1 to 3 negative karma can be removed.
But the topic title is "How to get a positive Karma point fast", will I be rewarded if I don't have any negative karma?

1388
As there is proof you can easily detect who gave you karma and for which reason. If you think you don't deserve negative for the post you can complain to admin or moderator.
Can you elaborate on this? I am curious to dead to know who gave me karma(s)? Like you said, if one day total member of forum reaches 2 million and everyone receiving negative karma wants to complain to admin or moderator, what else can mod/admin do aside from resolving those complaints?

Talking about "karma", I think it's the combination of "merit" and "trust" in the forum X and everyone knows that the trust system is being seriously abused (people can give negative trust to other with some shady reasons, that's not to mention the right to give positive/negative trust is centralized in some people's hands). It'd be better to let karma system work like karma in Reddit. If you got positive karma then your total karma increases and if you get negative karma, your total karma decreases.

Forum related / Re: The current problem related to applying Karma
« on: October 28, 2018, 05:40:11 PM »
As I understand this, only senior members and above can give karma. Now my question is,  does the receiving of karma begin from a certain rank level? Or can any rank receive karma, even baby steps? Secondly, are there parameters to use in judging that a post merits a karma? Finally, can two or three persons give a particular person karma at the same time?
Tnx for the answers in advance.
Everyone ranking from Newbie can receive karma. There is no specific standard in judging a post, as admin once stated:
Karma is to be granted to people providing good answers and interesting questions.

Of course two or three people can give karma to a person at the same time. It seems like you're new to forum. Read all the sticky threads to know how it works.

Forum related / Re: "Karma" not properly used or misused
« on: October 25, 2018, 11:37:01 AM »
I also see that many people getting karma by their friends without having any good topic or post. Also many stupid post by high rank members but they don't get any negative karma.I think Admin must be careful about it or the forum will loose it's popularity.
Since the karma is not public, I don't quite understand why you can see those unreasonable things but for my case, I got a number of karmas for my posts. It's hard to force people giving karma but that's better in comparison with giving the right to judege "how is quality" in a group of people called "merit sources" as in the forum X.

Maybe all the same you are wrong.  After all, there is such a problem on bitcointalk and merit became necessary to pump a rank to participate in bounty, here you don’t need karma for this, so I don’t think people will give you karma if you write something really useful!
There will be some tighter requirements to rank up in the future, you can see it here: https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=56188.0
Not sure if those changes will be implemented, karma will be abused or not. And if it will, I don't know how we can prevent since only admin can see how the karma moves from one person to another.

Forum related / Re: Bounty and KYC
« on: October 21, 2018, 11:20:15 AM »
Questions:
1. Should bounty campaigns declare whether or not they will require KYC AT THE START of the campaign as part of the general rules?
Most of the current bounties do not mention about KYC and I think it's a sign of not requiring KYC. Only some experienced bounty managers clearly include KYC term at the beginning of the campaign.

Quote
2. Should Altcoinstalks disqualify those bounty campaigns that will not declare if KYC is required or not?
"Disqualifying" is a bit over-strict but it's necessary to have a recommendation about KYC term in bounties.

Quote
There is also this "we reserve the right to change" rule but I believe this should not apply on the KYC rule.
I agree with this. Nothing should be changed and obviously KYC is one of them. Many people are not willing to give out their personal information in exchange for some tokens that are uncertain valued. Their time and effort would be wasted if KYC rule changed in the end.

1392
As of now, maybe we need more members here, so I go with the quantity, if we reach the quota maybe we can now do some actions to prevent spammers and help them to contribute to our little community
Perfectly coincide with my idea. There should be more activities to make the forum lively: event, discussing worthy topics or something like that. Only that way to attract more member, then quantitative accumulation will lead to qualitative transformation.

~snip~
It takes a lot of time or is very difficult to achieve both quality and quantity at the same time. I'd rather sacrifice quality to get quantity or let quantity go to maintain quality than trying to keep the two things at a low level.

Forum related / Quantity vs quality - which one should the forum go for?
« on: October 14, 2018, 02:33:28 PM »
According to my observation, the forum is a bit quiet lately. Although there's a number of new features have just been implemented but people doesn't seem very intersted in. It's not about those features are uncool but maybe we're lack of dedicated member. A thought just come up in my mind that at this stage, does the forum need quantity or quality? I would go for the former: we need more and more members though we still need to keep the forum's overall quality at a decent level.
What's your thought on this?

Ponzi Scheme definition
Ponzi Scheme is a from of scam which takes money from new investors to pay older investors. People taking part in Ponzi Scheme are lured to believe that their returns are from ligitimate sources and are encouraged to attract new investors through referral bonuses. In fact, Ponzi Scheme collapses when there’s no more newcomer.

Origin of Ponzi Scheme
The scheme was named after Charles Ponzi in 1919. At that time, the postal service developed something called “international mail coupon”, allowing mail receivers to buy priority airmail postage stamps needed to send replies. Realizing the fluctuation of stamps price, Ponzi planned to make money by buying stamps at low prices (with mail coupons) and then sell them at higher prices (this also known as a type of arbitraging).

The story didn’t end there. Greediness made Ponzi expanded his business. He sought investors and promised them a return of 50% in just 45 days. But instead of focusing on stamp arbitraging, Ponzi paid old investors by new investors’ money. Ponzi was so success that he made $ 420,000 (approx $5.13 mil in 2017 money) by May 1920. Charles Ponzi was arrested on August 12, 1920 and sentenced 14 years in jail.

Ponzi Scheme Red flags
The most prominent sign of Ponzi Scheme is high investment returns with low risk. Of course, everybody may have heard of “high risk, high return” but people are usually blinded by their greediness, especially lesser educated people. 1% per day, 50% in 45 days or any returns that distant from bank interest rate are suspicious. Other indicators are:
-   Consistent returns regardless of market situations
-   Lack of transparancy: no name, no contact nor office addresss
-   Difficulty withdrawing investment

How to avoid Ponzi
It’s very difficult to cash out once you’re involved in Ponzi Scheme. So the only way to avoid Ponzi is to stay away from it and report to authority. Keep your head cool before fancy words of other people, something like risk-free, high return…

Top 5 most famous Ponzi Schemes in crypto world
1.   Bitconnect: Initially being released on early 2016, bitconnect had a long journey in crypto world before being accused by the US government in early 2018.
2.   Pincoin & iFan: Lesser educated people are the easiest to fall for scams. This is an ordinary example.
3.   OneCoin: Rather than Pincoin & iFan, OnceCoin is a multinational scam, involving in India, Thailand, Croatia, Bulgaria, Norway and Finland.
4.   Regalcoin: Combining MLM and Ponzi, Regalcoin used to be very famous in South East Asia before collapse following other Ponzi coins such as Bitconnect.
5.   Hextracoin: Following Regalcoin’s footstep, Hextracoin had a short time of success in late 2017. This Ponzi Scheme made some people rich but also made a lot of people homeless.

"Quote" is a very popular and useful feature of each forum.  By quoting, you can directly reply to the post that you agree or argue. But sometimes, you only want to respond to a couple of sentences of a long post and don't know how to quote. Here's what you'll need to do:
(Pretend that I want to quote the first paragraph of this post: https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=54697.0)
There're two ways to do this:

1. Quote without mentioning author
This is the easier way by using this BBcode:
Code: [Select]
[quote][/ quote]
Copy the content that you want to quote and paste it between the brackets.
Thing goes like:
Code: [Select]
[quote] 1. Remember password
Even I choose "Forever" on the small box next to the "Login" button, I have to re-type Username and Password on the next log in (same web browser, no log-out from anywhere). This is a popular feature as it can be found in any other websites. Hope we'll have it in near fut [/quote]

And you get:
Quote
1. Remember password
Even I choose "Forever" on the small box next to the "Login" button, I have to re-type Username and Password on the next log in (same web browser, no log-out from anywhere). This is a popular feature as it can be found in any other websites. Hope we'll have it in near fut

2. Quote with mentioning author
- Step 1: Click on the "Quote" button

- Step 2: Select the unnecessary part

- Step 3: Hit "Delete" and then type your reply on the line under the [/quote]

Avoid "wall of text"
Sometimes, you only want to say I agree with a long post. But you will quote a wall of text just to say agree? To avoid this, you should use <...> or ~snip~ in your quote. It's like this:
