Well, the title says it all already, so yeah, assuming you have two options and you are only supposed to make one choice, what would be your choice ?

Between to accept a well paying job and to go to the university and take a foure years program, which will you accept and why do you think it will be better choice for you?

A tough one if you ask me. I think it depends on the country you're at. If I'm residing in a country where there are less job opportunities, and I'm faced with this kind of choice, I would take the job and forfeit going to school but if there are many job opportunities, then why worrying over missing one opportunity? I would shun the job offer and further my education. When I'm done schooling, I'm pretty certain that I'd get a better job.

Meme Coins / Re: Can a meme coin make you rich?
« on: February 06, 2024, 02:45:28 PM »
Most new investors are tempted to buy memecoin with a small amount of money, because they believe that there will be more profit. A friend of mine told me there is a chance to get rich suddenly from meme coin. But i think it's just a fantasy because most memecoins don't last long in the market and most of them are scams. But everything is possible from the crypto market but some memecoins are really the best.

Memecoins can certainly make you rich because I've read multiple stories online of some investors buying memecoins with just few bucks and turning it into millions of dollars. However, memecoins are high risk investment with no use cases, well known for pumps and dumps and the chances of getting scammed is really high. No matter the DYOR, I think when you invest in memecoin, you've a 1% chance of mooning and 99% chance of burning.

Stable Coins Forum / Re: Any Dex for BTC to stablecoins exchange?
« on: February 06, 2024, 11:12:54 AM »
What I'm looking for is something simple, an exchange that's decentralized or at least doesn't require KYC verification, is reliable, and I can easily exchange Bitcoin into stablecoins? Is there a decentralized exchange that does this?

If you're looking for a simple, no KYC exchange where you can trade BTC to stablecoin, then I'd suggest exch.cx. At the moment, it supports only 3 stablecoins; DAI, USDT, USDC, available on the Ethereum network. I've not used bisq lately, so I wouldn't know.

Edited:

Charles beat me to the first reply spot  :)

If I happen to get the wallet address wrong, is there a way to recover the transaction?

Bitcoin wallet has an inbuilt checksum that verifies if an address is valid or not, if the address is invalid or non existent, the transaction will no go through, in other words it'll not leave the wallet. However, if you mistakenly send Bitcoin to a wrong address, you won't be able cancel or recover it back because transactions are irreversible. It is pertinent that you always cross-check the address on the sending tap with the one you copied to avoid this kind of mistake.

Nigerian Languages / Re: Nothing like long-term investment
« on: February 06, 2024, 09:19:31 AM »
I like long term investment whether in cryptocurrency or other investments. Long term gives you time to relax and it gives more profit. In terms of cryptocurrency, those that bought coins when their prices were cheap intend to keep them till now. The profit will be huge.

You used the word cryptocurrency which is a generic term. Not all investment in cryptocurrency is suitable for long term especially memecoins. They're short term projects, after investment if the memecoin pumps, quickly offload it if not you'll end up holding a bag of worthless token. It just quite a few of them that have survived over the years like dogecoin and shiba inu. If you want to hold a coin on long term basis, Bitcoin comes first, other coins like ETH, BNB, MATIC, solana etc, should be secondary.

Basic Questions about Cryptos / Re: Bitcoin or Etherum?
« on: February 06, 2024, 07:58:48 AM »
What would be the best investment for a better profit?

Both Bitcoin and Ethereum are good for investment, they're the biggest performing coin by market capitalization but Bitcoin has about half of the total market cap of of all the crypto market and the most established. This may not be really important because it could change this year, but from January to December last year, Bitcoin was up by about 105% while ETH was about 64%. Bitcoin has greater public acceptance and the favourite coin to invest.

Basic Questions about Cryptos / Re: How can you choose your bitcoin wallet?
« on: February 06, 2024, 06:45:39 AM »
Choosing the best bitcoin wallet is the most important step. I've heard of cold wallet or hot wallet. How do you choose yours?

Whatever wallet you choose depends on the amount of Bitcoin you wish to hold and how long you intend to hold. Cold wallet such as hardware wallets are the safest and they're suitable for long term storage. Hot wallet like sparrow wallet, electrum wallet, Blue wallet, Unstoppable wallet can be used to store less amount of Bitcoin and for short term storage. Electrum wallet or blue wallet on an airgapped device is also good for long term storage.

Meme Coins / Re: Which memecoin has come through for you recently?
« on: February 04, 2024, 10:42:42 PM »
~
If you know how to spot out good memecoins, that's good for you. Memecoins lack use cases, they'are mostly scams, and I choose not to waste my time and resources on such tokens.

I also felt tempted to invest in babydoge, wakanda inu, and some other few, but up till now, I have not made any profit but just lost. Recently, I have not invested in any altcoins. I am not moved to do so.

One thing I've come to realize about some of these memecoins like babydoge you mentioned is that there can be more than one babydoge token on a particular network. Currently, some devs are still creating new babydoge tokens and if you don't check properly, you may end up buying bdoge different from the one you'd in mind.

Even though, Manchester united has not being performing as expected from them since the beginning of the season does not mean that you should underestimate them, because they are among the big club. We also saw their last performance against wolves, that it was an impressive one. I don't think that West Ham will be able to win Manchester united in this game, we just have to wait and see what the result will be, because if United can display the performance of their previous match, it will be a tough match.

Manchester United has been unbeaten in the last 5 games in all competitions and the last time they'd back to back win in the EPL was november last year. From their recent results, it looks like they're beginning to turn things around and this could be attributed to some of the key players that are returning back from injury like Luke Shaw, Casemiro, Martinez, Varane. The match against West Ham was a walk in the park. The hammers didn't look threatening as united dominated the game right from the beginning to the end. It's a good win for them, and I hope they keep the winning run.

Someone is going to make good money on selling personal data in that quantity. Nowadays, you can get decent money for an account with photo verification with a passport in hand. If you drain all this base at minimum prices, you will get quite a decent amount of money, which will be enough for a long time. That is why they try to steal or get this information about customers.

With the way CEXs are forcing KYC on users, the data resell business may even become more valuable and lucrative in the future. According to the information below, stolen data can also be sold in packages on the darkweb.

"The data is seemingly for sale for $10 per 100 documents or more, with discounts applying for those who buy in bulk, all the way up to $1 per 1,000 for an order of over 25,000. CCN.com was able to independently verify the ad on the dark web, which is still online."

I don't see Binance have problem with user document KYC as far their operation without much problem for selling user document or use for any thing else.

Absolutely yes, I don't heard the problem of binance about KYC.
I believe binance will keep our private data.
Maybe I don't believe in new exchange, but binance is reputable exchange.
I know it's third parties, but as long as there is no news about  their mistakes in storing our data,
I still believe it...

Let me burst your bubbles, Binance has been hacked before and they can be hacked again. Once your data is stolen you can never undo it, so be careful of how you give it out.

"Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, said it's investigating the alleged leak of its customers' verification information. The leak could affect up to 60,000 individual users who sent KYC information to the company in 2018 and 2019."

General Discussion / Re: The fate of banks in the present world of Bitcoin
« on: February 04, 2024, 07:25:24 AM »
This subject has been discussed several times, and I think cryptocurrency is not going to replace traditional banking in the future. Traditional banking has been part of our lives since civilization and it's still going to be around. The government will not let go of one of its precious tools through which it exerts control over the people and of course, traditional banking has been evolving. The birth of cryptocurrency has promoted the government to begin to consider the possibility of adopting CBDCs.

Gambling discussion / Re: AFCON 2024 Discussion thread
« on: February 03, 2024, 09:57:56 PM »
After some poor results in the group stage and having finished 3rd on the table, the Ivorians made it to the last 16 on best loser basis. The played against Senegal and who scored few minutes into the game, controlled most of the game, only for the Ivorians to pull one back in the 87th mins. The game entered extra time and then penalty shootout and the Ivorians won.

Today, the repeated almost the same thing, the Malians scored first in the 71th min while the Ivorians levelled up in the 90th min to take the game to extra time, where they got their winning.

As you can see luck is really smiling on them, so I'm just thinking out loud... Are the Ivorians going to lift the AFCON trophy the same way Portugal did in EURO 2016?
