But at several that have good reputation, I think It's also safe.
it's my opinion

Did you mean that exchanges are also safe?
I don't know how they are safe. They do not provide your private key, which means you do not have control over your Bitcoin. You do not have a coin control feature, which you could utilize if you send Bitcoin accidentally to the wrong wallet address. If your email gets hacked, the hacker could access your exchange account as well. So, how do you consider a exchange as a safe option?

Exchanges has many negatives sides. For example, they have some limits when you send your Bitcoin to another address. Usually exchanges charges too much high fees on withdrawals. For example, Binance's minimum withdrawal is 160K satoshi and the withdrawal fee is 70K satoshi. Can you imagine?

Polkadot Forum / Re: I want invest on DOT
« on: December 24, 2023, 10:48:32 AM »
The way guys are talking about DOT, it seems you guys are hired by their team to shill for their project. I do not see any kind of technical analysis or any fact that proves DOT has some potential. I am not questioning the project because I also invested in Polkadot. But, that does not really mean that I would worship the project. When you guys say yes, yes, yes, the project will boom, it will exploit etc, it does not really help the project. understandably, you guys are writing for money. Either the project paid you to do that, or you guys are writing for your signature quatta. The campaign managers will look at these posts and then your posts may get rejected due to poor quality. You should pay attention to it and give some effort when you write. Don't take this negatively, it is a friendly advice.

Bitcoin exchanges still exist. However, their security is questionable. The question arises: how safe are these exchanges? You may come across a site that does not work or unknowingly purchase grey bitcoins that cannot be sold later.  There are many nuances that need to be taken into account.

I didn't get your question. what exchanges are you talking about? I was talking about some centralized exchanges that do not ask for KYC information. A user can use these platforms to buy Bitcoin. If someone has other cryptocurrencies like ETH or USDT, they can use Fixedfloat or a similar website to exchange them for Bitcoin. You don't have use to any unnamed exchanges. To avoid security issues, you should use known popular exchanges.

What did you mean by grey bitcoins? You are not heading your Bitcoin to a centralized eexchanges which may block you from selling your Bitcoin. if you buy it from exchanges, you can sell it there too. But if you buy Bitcoin from hackers and the address get reported, then exchanges may freeze your account. otherwise, you should be okay.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Top 3 Bitcoin security and safety tips
« on: December 24, 2023, 10:33:59 AM »
I have an old experience with this. When I first started with cryptocurrency, I didn't have my own computer. So, I would go to an internet cafe and rent a computer to perform crypto-related tasks, including sending funds. One time, I attempted to transfer my funds to another wallet, but I didn't realize that the address had been changed, and my money was sent to a different address. Since that incident, I invested in my own personal computer and secured my wallets to prevent any such incidents from happening again.

Are you for real? Did you just say that you have used an internet cafe's computer to access your wallet? I am curious to know if you have changed your wallet or not. Even if there were no clipboard malware, still I wouldn't ever use a random computer to access my wallet. You never know if there were other types of malware or tools like keyloggers. There are many cases when a user used a cyber cafe's computer to access their social media nad emails but later those accounts were hacked. That's because some hackers installed some malware on those computers.

You don't need a computer to run a Bitcoin wallet. You can install Bitcoin wallet on your mobile devices. But, make sure to use non-custodial wallets like unstoppable or electrum. Never use exchanges as your wallet. Most importantly, avoid cyber cafe to input any kind of credentials.

This is a true example of 'growing the bags.' They consistently invest in Bitcoin with varying amounts. It's interesting that BlackRock only owns about 8.1% of Microstrategy, so there shouldn't be any worries about the future.

While I am happy about their investment, I am also afraid that they might start selling their BTC at some point. Everyone invests to gain profits, and surely they will do it too. But we don't know the time. Imagine BTC touched another ATH and they started selling their Bitcoin and cashing out their profits. The market will turn 360 degree and we will be in bear market within a day.

But, we don't know when it's going to happen. But it will happen for sure. A simple 1000 BTC sell can down the market 3-4%. Did you think why market goes up and then down once it touches a round figure mileston? Because it triggers selling point.

Litecoin Forum / Re: LITECOIN FUTURE
« on: December 23, 2023, 03:33:19 PM »
Yes maybe I have seen many managers they are paying Litecoin instead of Bitcoin.I think the future of this coin is very bright.I want to buy some amount of these coins and keep them invested for future.

Some managers paid in bitcoin does not mean its future is bright. Even if its feature is bright, it's not because some campaign managers decided to pay in Litecoin. They choose Litecoin to pay because the transaction fee Bitcoin has been ridiculed for the last couple of weeks. But, Litcoin's transaction fee is much cheaper compared to Bitcoin. Which is the only reason they choose litecoin to pay their signature participants.

I always trust POW coins. But, if a coins do not have a maximum supply limit, it won't be stable ever. Fortunately, litecoin has a supply limit and I believe it will start pumping once the mining process ends. Because the scarcity increase the demand. I have been watching Litecoin for a while now and it didn't moved much.

Bitcoin SV / Re: Why I Should Invest In Bitcoin SV
« on: December 23, 2023, 03:09:18 PM »
It seems this child board hasn't had a single post in the last year. This is the first topic I saw when I entered this childboard. Even though the thread seems plagiarized, I cannot verify it now. Now, back to the main point! Do you guys still believe CSW and his scam token BSV? A lot of people supported the fork, and they were buying BSV because they agreed that this was the original Satoshi vision (LOL).

What did you guys get in the last couple of years? CSW successfully scammed you guys. Even newbies were scammed by him. They were trying to buy Bitcoin but his website sold them BSV instead saying this is original BTC.

I once came across a post on social media where the user claimed that all the funds in their wallet were sent to the wrong address when they tried to transfer money. The address they had pasted was altered to a different one. Therefore, it's essential to always double-check the address before clicking the "send" button. Stay safe!

That is called clipboard malware. There are a lot of types of hacking tools that we don't even know. A person should not connect their hardware wallet to a random computer. if you connect it to your own computer, make sure it is fresh. If you have a good amount of money in your crypto wallet, always be careful with it. You can run two operating systems on the same computer by making it dual boot.

If you visit random websites with your computer, you never know if it is already affected by malware. You should not take any kind of risk when it comes to your own crypto wallet. I use linux for wallet management and I do not use it for day to day work.

Which decentralised exchanges interact with real bitcoins? Most platforms work with bitcoins wrapped in other networks, but this increases the risk of signing a transaction with a maximum spend. It is important to ensure that coins are not stolen by fraudsters.

You have pointed out a good thing. I don't know any decentralized exchange that provides on-chain real Bitcoin. All we see is wrapped bitcoin on shitcoin chains. BTC on BNB chain or ETH chain is not Bitcoin anymore. It is considered as altcoin. But, there are some centralized exchanges that do not require KYC prior sign up. Users can buy Bitcoin from these exchanges without compromising their Identity. Also, there are exchanges like agoradesk, localmonero and many more. For those, who are interested to know some non kyc exchanges, you can check https://kycnot.me

All I see is theymos decided to ban mixers on Bitcointalk and the government running after the mixer services to shut them down.
This was done so that Bitcointalk would continue its work since both the domain and the forum admin are subject to US jurisdiction (not to mention the 1200 bitcoins at the forum’s disposal).

Yes, I understand that. But the interesting fact is, the forum did not get any requests or any kind of threats, nothing - according to theymos. So, I consider the decision to be precautious. I thought as a Bitcointalk admin, he would care about his privacy. I never knew he was in the USA. It's true that theymos did not answer many personal questions regarding himself. But what makes him reveal his location? Cyrus is Romanian. Can't they transfer the ownership of domain and the hosting to Cyrus? Well, this will be too muck work for him which he won't do just to allow some specific services. But who knows, maybe he will start censoring casinos next, and then DEX.  ???

I dont understand why some people are so against mixers. Not all mixers are the same, not all of them are connected with criminals or made only to laundry dirty money.

You should rephrase your words! People have nothing against mixers. It is the government and its entity that has the problem against mixers. Have you ever seen an average Joe saying something negative about mixers? I don't know if you have seen one, but I didn't see any of them yet. All I see is theymos decided to ban mixers on Bitcointalk and the government running after the mixer services to shut them down.

People use mixers for their privacy and they will use it till they exist. Some stupid may disagree, but it will be their unpopular own opinion about mixers which I do not count.

Connecting your wallet to random websites can be risky. But not everyone knows about the dangers. Some people are new to cryptocurrency... and dont understand the risks. Sometimes you might need to connect your wallet to a website for a good reason... like using certain platforms or features.

People who are new in the crypto space are unlikely to have a big amount of money in their wallets. A large percentage of crypto users got hacked or tricked at some point. But that's where you learn from. I do not connect my wallet anywhere that I do not trust. If I want to check any website or it's features, I won't use my regular wallet. This should be a common practice for crypto users. I think we are discussion something else in this topic even though the topic is about exchange.

Ensuring the security of your cryptocurrency is of utmost importance. While both exchanges and wallets play crucial roles in the crypto space, it's crucial to recognize the distinctions in their security features.

Crypto wallets, especially hardware wallets like OneKey, offer a higher level of security compared to exchanges. Here's why:

Forum related / Re: Glitch in board names or what?
« on: December 22, 2023, 01:30:05 PM »
no, it is intended as a redirection , keeping all price speculation and analysis in one place

If so, we didn't need that BTC price child board in the Bitcoin section, which is not a REAL BTC price board. BTC Price name is kind of misleading since the original name of that board is Cryptocurrency Price Speculations. Because of that, I was about to report the threads on that board because I thought I was on the BTC price board.

I was like, "What? Why are people discussing altcoin prices on the BTC price board?" Then I realized that, they are not wrong. I am one who confused between the boards. Anyways, No problem. But that was a little confusing.

I am locking this thread as we already got the answer from officials.

Forum related / Glitch in board names or what?
« on: December 21, 2023, 02:54:57 PM »
I was exploring the section's board by board. In the Cryptocurrency Ecosystem, I found a board named Bitcoin Forum. I opened it and saw three more child boards, one of which was BTC price. But when I click on it, it redirects me to the Cryptocurrency Price Speculations board, which is a child board of Cryptocurrency Trading. I believe this is a mistake. @admin, could you please look into it?

At first, I thought I was on the Bitcoin price board and was about to report those threads because those were about altcoin discussions. So, I was about to report them saying those threads are on the inappropriate board.

Forum related / Re: What is the purpose of automated posts here?
« on: December 21, 2023, 02:45:36 PM »
I see that every topic gets the first reply with the rules of the forum, automatically posted from the Altcoins Talks - Cryptocurrency Forum account, and the purpose of that is more than obvious. But why is a post with a smiley posted right after the first regular reply?

I've found it annoying. The same banner image in every thread you go to. I understand the importance of knowing the forum rules. But I guess the admin could change it a little bit. These banner rules should disappear once a member reaches a certain rank, confirming that they have spent enough time to know about these rules. Similar to the newbie warning on the Bitcointalk forum.

You don't have to force me to read the same thing every time I visit a thread. But, this space could be utilized by the forum admin to make some money. But, they should have reduced the size. I am also concerned by the signature width! People can write a whole article in their signature space. I saw user wrote a big list of users in his signature space and I was reading it because I thought it's his post. LOL.
