This crypto community also includes a forum like this. While you are cautious of scams from outside, be also cautious of scams within. This is why you must ensure to avoid having private discussions with people in the forum that you do not know, especially discussions that you will be required to continue elsewhere.

There can be scammers here too, we also need to be careful.
Yeah, like suspicious newbie accounts who suddenly PM you and says about a investment scheme and others. But if you look closely, this could be a trap and so it's not good to have this private conversations with a newbie or even maybe a established member. You really need to know or uses your logic to tell that this could be a scam and should be avoided by all cost. And we have seen this kind of modus in the other community as many have reported this from many years ago but still this kind of scam attempts will appear from time to time.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Why are people so crazy about buying Bitcoin?
« on: April 26, 2025, 12:53:10 PM »
The less volatility of Bitcoin to other coins are one of the major reasons why people are crazy in buying Bitcoin and when you ask consider the price movement of Bitcoin since it was launched, you'll know that there's no wrong time to invest in it especially for long-term purpose. Using the DCA strategy, gaining much profits in your Bitcoin investment is inevitable. Regardless of the time learn about Bitcoin, invest it because your chances of gaining is way to more than your chances of losing your money
And it's too big to fall, unlike any other altcoins that have a chance to be dead in the next year's cycle. So for us, even if the profit is that big as like other meme coins, still though we are going to be safe in Bitcoin. So it's like the mentality of before safe that sorry for us. It will take time to make profits and it's steady but that's what we love about it and again, we could be go to bed and not thinking that it will go to zero or our investments being wipe out.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Is TRUMP controlling BTC growth?
« on: April 26, 2025, 12:22:06 PM »
Trump effect is just short term.
I agree with you mate. This is just temporary and hopefully we can see significant growth in the next few months because I am still seeing positivity of Bitcoin price to go back up in the last quarter of the year before it will full plummet in 2026 if I am not wrong.
The effects of Donald's Trump's policies on Bitcoin are short-term like you said but there are people who believes that he is controlling the price of Bitcoin with these policies. He wasn't controlling the price of Bitcoin rather with these policies rather it was just fundamental analysis playing out. Most of the new policies that affected Bitcoin price wasn't originally implemented to affect the price of Bitcoin but because he oversees the largest economy in the world, his financial regulations tends to affect the movement of the crypto market which is very normal and expected.
I wouldn't call it short live, as long as he is the President and keeping his promise of becoming a crypto friendly then everything will be good for us. Just like this news, https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/boards-policy-regulation/us-bank-regulators-pull-back-guardrails-bank-crypto-activities-2025-04-24/

Quote
WASHINGTON, April 24 (Reuters) - U.S. banking regulators announced on Thursday they were pulling back several documents that urge banks to show caution when dabbling in cryptocurrency and related activities.
The Federal Reserve said it was withdrawing a pair of supervisory letters stipulating that banks should seek advance approval from regulators before engaging in crypto-asset and stablecoin activities.

So that alone is already huge and welcoming news and most likely it influence the price of Bitcoin to suddenly move over $95k in the last 24 hours. But currently this is the biggest barrier. But if we will hear optimistic news again then price will continue to grow.

4
It just crossed my mind, we are looking at ETH as the catalyst of the so called altseason. However, if you look at the price, still down from it's previous high. But if you compare it to let's say SOL, who are making a big jump in prices every time that Bitcoin also will have a run, maybe we can say that there are few altcoins that have already started it's run and that ETH should not be the bench mark anymore. I don't know if you will be in agreement with what I observed.

5
There is no denying that it is an interesting update and we now look forward to the banks implementing this and we would see how many of them are going to start supporting transactions relating to crypto. Trump is surely a clown, but it is obvious that there are a few positive changes relating to crypto that has been made since he became president.
And that's why he promise right? That under his terms, they are going to be lax with regards to crypto. But I didn't expect that the Banks are going to bow so easy on his demand. I'm thinking that there is an obvious influence by the President. But in any case though, still good to hear that they are going to ease crypto bank rules. As this topic has been going on for like two weeks already but someone has to give in and so that is the Fed in this case.

An update on Jimmy's injury says no fracture but still in 'serious jeopardy'. They say it's one of those bruises that's a lot more painful than it sounds/looks. Even with a day more rest time, GSW's chances doesn't look good at all and Steph might have to produce a near perfect game or a 50-point with more 70% efficiency. I'm with Rockets -10 but can't see a line for that right now, I only see -3.50. Is it available in your favorite bookies?
I've seen some videos saying that Jimmy announced that he is done in this season. But I realized that it's AI generated and it could be fake. So it's just probably needed some time to rest and healed it naturally. But still though this next game is going to be crucial for them but I think Steve Kerr will give Kuminga the playoff time now since Jimmy is out. Kerr needs all the help that he needed. And maybe Buddy Hield too will rise to the occasion and show us why he almost won the 3 point contest.

Gambling discussion / Re: when do you “refill” your budget
« on: April 25, 2025, 12:06:29 PM »
for gamblers, budget is the most important factor of keeping ourselves away from getting addicted or spending way too much all at once i am sure we have different approaches so i am curious to know how you budget your gambling money do you budget it by weekly or monthly? and how do you find each approach different? which one suits you better? and why?
Definitely, I just refill my budget when I feel like there was a game that I might have a high chance of winning like in sports betting, so I will go as low as $20.00 to refill and then bet on the team that I want to win or with the better odds. Then after that, let's see how it goes, if I win they go and continue to bet. But if lose, then maybe I have to stop and reset everything. And maybe at the start of the week if I got my paycheck then continue to go on and play again.

Just like what we have seen in the last couple of days, there is a movement in price hitting as high as $95,000. So it means the bullish feeling of the investors is still here, they just want to see some positive news first before investing again. So really too early to say that the cycle has shifted or new patterns emerging.

That bullishness is not yet giving up and we have seen that in the past few days...and I am hoping that this can be extended far more even going into the $100K though am doubting if we are prepared for a new ATH. Still, we can never know what can be as the market is really frail and looking for some inspiration right now. The 4-year-cycle may still be working but we can only conclude on that maybe at the end of the year or early part of 2026. Personally, I prefer that Bitcoin would follow a new pattern instead of the cycle as the market is now very different compared to years ago.
We could have just hit a barrier at $95k, but it's good that there are no downward spiral after the barrier is not broken, we remain above $90k and as others might see it, still a good sign that the bulls in still inside the market. So it's hard to predict if there are a shift as we haven't seen it before, no precedence whatsoever. So with that, we can only hold for the position that we are bullish and that the price can still go on a massive rise just like the previous bull run years. Just a matter how big big the bull run will be or when we are going to see it.

Quite interesting news if we want
a new company is born, formed by 4 big names in our sector.
The new company will be called 21 Capital, will have an initial capital of 3 billion in bitcoin and will be launched on the initiative of
- Singer Fitzgerald
- Tether
- Softbank
- Bitfinex

let's say we know all the last three
Yeah, it seems that they really know what they are doing and so they pool their funds to built a 3 billion capital and this is going to be huge for us. And it means that bullish sentiments is back once again and those involved have experience already in the market so this is really welcoming news and probably that's why the market is again on  a mini run of itself and could be pushing for $100k moving forward as our short term goal. So let's just remain optimistic that the goal of at least $150k could be hit before the end of the year.

Privacy Coins Forum / Re: Will privacy coins survive?
« on: April 25, 2025, 12:36:17 AM »
They are unstoppable. Monero is currently experiencing the kind of state and corporate oppression that Bitcoin faced around 2015.

It will work about as well as that did.

Bitcoin isn't a privacy coin and it's not been used to launder money while the perpetrators hide under it and because it was becoming difficult for the government to track them, the government forced the centralized exchanges to delist it. If you see Montero trading on any tier A exchange, consider it a ticking time bomb because it will soon be dlisted.

Privacy coins are good by the way but they are too private that government don't know anything about sender and receiver, they have to completely let it go unlike Bitcoin where you can have some level of privacy but you can't do bad things underneath because it's not completely private.

Yes, privacy coins are really hard for the government to track, and that is One of the reasons they have ben clamping down on them through the CEX exchanges. Monero, Dash, and others privacy coins can hardly been seen on centralized exchange because of pressure from governments.
I think that privacy will continue to exist, it will be very difficult for government close them completely, the most challenges factor  is poor investing and trading opportunities. I just hope this challenge can be overcome in near future.
And with that, we shouldn't look for privacy coins as some form of investment and I think they are those who investors will shy away. And those who are using it is for privacy, not that they are doing anything wrong and hiding something, but for us crypto enthusiast, we want to remain private and anonymous so that no one can track our movement. And this is the basic tenant on why privacy coins are still surviving up to this day even though it has been crack down since 2018.

Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Info and Prediction Thread
« on: April 25, 2025, 12:09:08 AM »

I'm not sure if there is a thread on Suarez fight against Navarette here. It will be in May 10 as this fight is going to be big for the Filipinos as they don't have a world champion or at least someone that will carry the torch when Pacquiao has left.

But he is going to be fighting a big Mexican brawler and somewhat Charly is old by today's standard as he is a late bloomer. And obviously he is a big underdog here but I will say that never underestimate the heart of a Filipino boxer.

Yup, Charly Suarez is a bit old as 36 is considered old in boxing. Though i don't underestimate his chances in this fight but i don't expect much from him though i would still be very happy if he pulls an upset. I would not bet on him on this one but rather will look for another option/market if the bookies will offer other options.

The bookmaker already undermined Charly, we can see it on the odds. That's got to be considered almost a sure win over Charly. Stake offers almost same odds.

Navarette has enormous KO rate so it wouldn;t be surprising to see Charly gets KOd. Even when Charly does have zero loss, he isn't going to escape the beating from a young fighter with so high KO rate.
Navarette is really a hard puncher, I'm thinking that this could be similar to Inoue vs Tapales fight (another Filipino). Tapales was really strong and wanted to pull an upset, but Inoue accurate punching really take a toll on Tapales as he was knockout. So maybe in the first couple of rounds, Suarez is a willing opponent that will engage Navarette, but once he taste his power, he will be soften up and this might not last the full 12 rounds.

Crypto Exchanges / Re: CEX vs DEX: The neverending discussion
« on: April 24, 2025, 11:41:00 PM »
I want to believe that a time is coming whereby there will be massive use of decentralized exchanges just as we already had with centralized exchanges that we all uses most frequently, the other reason why we may be having other challenges could be as a result of many lacking the understanding of their differences, and maybe some could not trust some of the decentralized exchanges in other for them not to cart away their assets all of a sudden.
I can't wait to see the time of all of us using decentralized exchanges in the crypto exchange marketplaces. I am really tired of Bitget and Bybit vendors manipulation of the market price. They would say they are buying with $1629 for the $/NGN but when you placed order they would negotiate with you to reduce the amount showing in their ads and against the national accepted price in the stock exchange rate. And the only alternative now is to convert it to USDT but the conversion process requires additional fee again so you will still loss some percentage so the best option for us now is Decentralized Exchanges where everything will be done without manipulation.
Hopefully it will be the case, but to be honest, as much as we wanted to move to DEX, I don't see it happening in the future. CEX has already established themselves already. Even there is manipulation, hacks, rug-pull, majority of us still going to blindly trust him as there are also some issues with CEX, specially it's liquidity. I guess we should just be very careful on what DEX that we're going to used moving forward to not fall for some kind of manipulation like you describe.

Given the current situation, people will definitely continue to buy BTC where the price is still in a downward position, even though the increase is not that significant, but if we buy at a price of $80k or below, when there is a slight increase like yesterday, we can still take advantage.
I agree with this since there are many reasons why people are not discouraged from purchasing BTCs despite the slow increase in their price range. For this reason as long as the price is still below some psychological mark, the chance of attaining a rather significant differentiation is still possible. The point is that no matter how insignificant the amount is, it makes sense if it is accumulated gradually, over and over again. People who practise reading of the business indicators are fully aware of the fact that not all fortunes rise high. In fact, such a setting is quite beneficial for those who are not hasty and do not take actions immediately. Since the foundation of the belief is firm and the perspective is not just short-term, even a gradualist movement is also appealing.
After yesterday's decline, I think BTC owners who buy  stocks btc  in installments for the past few weeks can smile happily, as the increase in BTC over the past 2 days has provided a breath of fresh air if you take short-term profits.
Yes, unfortunately, it didn't last as the price seems to bounce back down to $92k. So it's not that sustainable run for us, and obviously, it's just temporary, sort of mini run. So with the decline and as what we have said before, it's really better to just buy and continue to stack sats as this could be another accumulation period before the next stop of $100k. And it's really good to be looking at the bigger picture right now and now just those short term profits. It's better to just delayed everything and look for the end year results as the profits is going to be big specially if you are holding and accumulating for many months or even years.

They really need to do something with regards to crypto as Russia might see it as a way out from all the sanctions against them. So they disguise under the hood of crypto exchange. And then I guess those who has that special privilege will used all their wealth to come and band together to make Russia a great country again under Putin's vision. So not they are going to used crypto and become one of it's weapon just in case.

15
That's a huge prediction for the next cycle itself. So it's very hard to see where it's going. But if you look at the current price movement, I do not think that it will get to $12k in the future. It even had a hard time even going to it's previous bull run of around $4k this cycle. As compare to Bitcoin wherein it has $109k already under it's belt. I know that there are a lot of Ethereum holders, but perhaps they have lost a lot of investors this cycle because of the obvious reasons about their consensus mechanism of today.
