Gambling discussion / Re: is betting skills or luck?
« on: October 06, 2024, 09:21:12 PM »
Based on several comments in conclusion I think gambling, any gambling I mean, goes with luck despite the skill; The Gambler which gamble in any area of sports he or she gambles on, have a beat of element of luck in it, so base and every comment I mean the school of thought that both skills and luck in gambling, goes hand in hand.

Gambling discussion / is betting skills or luck?
« on: October 05, 2024, 06:30:40 PM »
much of each depends on the particulars of the bets and the situation. This is an explanation:

Factors that is in skills:knowledge: Knowing the odds, players, teams, and game technique can offer a player an advantage in games like sports betting.
Analysis: In order to make wise selections while betting on certain sports or basketball, it is necessary to examine patterns, data, and historical results.Money Management: Skilled gamblers are frequently adept at controlling their bankroll to reduce risk and maximize possible returns.

Factors that is in luck:Randomness: In games like jackpot, or slot machines, results are driven by Luck, skills cannot influence the results.
Unpredictable Events: Even in games involving skill, like sports betting, unexpected events (like injuries or weather conditions) can turn a well-reasoned bet into a loss. That's my opinion

Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not for Everyone
« on: October 05, 2024, 06:29:37 PM »
Though some may say it is for all but as for me it is not for everyone.
Gambling has been a thing of choice for a very long time. Most times young people are persuaded into gambling because of the money they see others or their friends making from it. As a responsible person who has never tried gambling before, you should stay away from it as it's not advicible. A lot of society are usually against women or men who gambles considering them as irresponsible since it's against most religious practices. A most women who gambles either use it to while a way time or earn as they are rare.
based on my own opinion gambling is for all to everyone who have interest in gambling, anyone who feel gambling is not for responsible people and does not have interest have to back, out but anyone who have interest in gambling should Gamble, since is their choice  but if you don't have interest in it back out. How's my candidates opinion

Gambling discussion / Can gambling affect integrity of sports?
« on: October 05, 2024, 11:04:59 AM »
Over the years gambling as affect the integrity of sports in several ways, several president of sports bodies I've had corrupt scandals due to gambling; based on  conflicts of interest, match fixing and bribing. These ways has the capacity to undermine the integrity of sports.

Sports organizations and governing bodies often take measures, such as regulations and monitoring, to prevent these issues and protect the integrity of their competitions; despite that they are still corrupt scandals associated to sports. So the integrity of sports is highly question based on gambling the system.

In match fixing: the outcome of a game can be manipulated by reference or coaches for the interest of their betting profit, and for that reason distort the fairness of any game.
In conflict of interest:There is an obvious conflict of interest when players or team officials wager on their own games. They might put their own financial gain ahead of the integrity of the sport, which would result in dubious performances or results. What's your opinion.

Have you ever gambled til you don't have money to stake on for further playing then you take a different dimension of staking with a valuable material?
I am not a gambler so I have not stack anything before, but I have seen gamblers who bet their phones bet their clothes they put on and even valuable properties  like laptops even car for betting after they finish using their money.

I was browsing through Twitter and I saw a shot someone posted where Eric Cantona (a former professional footballer) was quoted saying that people can change wives, change religion and even politics, but can not change their favorite football team.

And the comment section of the tweet, many people agree with him, and I personally thought to disagree, but I quickly remembered that I've been an Arsenal fan for many years now right from when I was a teenager and up to this moment, and even then Arsenal was one the worst football club, I never stopped seeing myself as their fan, and neither have I ever supported another club to beat Arsenal even when I'm certain that Arsenal chances of wining is as good as zero.

So, I began to think within myself if actually this is true for everyone else, and if there is some kind of mystery behind football clubs and team fanship.

What do you think about this?
I think I have a different view, people who are die-hearted fans are people who cannot change their club despite their performance in a particular season, but I have seen several fans of a particular club who have changed their club because of their performance I believe, those fans who changes their club based on performance they are not die hearted fans of that particular club. So I think is vis-à-vis base on my own opinion there are people who will change the club based on there performance and their others who cannot change their club despite the performance of the club.

Gambling discussion / Re: should gambling be completely banned?
« on: October 03, 2024, 09:16:55 AM »
That's your opinion but you have to remember minors are not allowed to gamble, online or offline, on offline there are laws that prohibit establishments from doing that, on online casinos they ask for KYC to check your age and eligibility.
if there are laws guiding gambling then why are minors still gambling that is to say the law has no effect because, there has to be a team enforce the law so that it can have effect on the minors because if there's no effect, that's to say the law is not working.

Gambling discussion / Re: Is it right for a lady to gamble ?
« on: October 03, 2024, 01:15:29 AM »
Someone told me once that gambling is not a lady's thing, and I asked him why and he said it doesn't look proper. Up till date I still don't see reasons for his reply.
My question is, is gambling for only men?
When I asked another friend of mine, he told me that just as cooking in the house is feminine, gambling is for only men too.
For me I think gambling is for fun so it is a general something and it doesn't matter the gender that is doing it .
Shear your ideas about this, let's see what carries the major point in this case...
there is no place in law were it's written that women cannot Gamble for me gambling is a choice either for a female to gamble or not is a choice. Based on my opinion any woman who gambles,is not a responsible woman. But today, many women gamble and engage in various forms of gaming, from lotteries to casinos and online betting.

the guy is already gambling in the local online casinos betting our digital fiat money and he was bragging me that he earned some money in referring users in online cockfighting platform. i told him if his money is in USD, he should be a millionaire already.

then i introduced him to crypto casino where he can bet USD. so i also let him buy USDT from me off course since i wanna cash out. now the guy is losing money faster than he earns from his money making racket.

of course i didn't teach him to gamble in any game, i just told him that he can bet in boxing since he was following boxing sport as well. i didn't realized hes also going to play slot and dice  ;D

now her wife looks at me like i'm the baddest influence in the neighborhood. put yourself in my shoe, should you be blamed if he lost substantial amount?
nobody should be blamed for anyone been addicted to gambling since the person is up to age and, life is a choice you choose what you want to do or to become, if anyone choose to become a gambler he or she will receive or take what gambling will brings in return. So to me nobody is to be blamed for anyone who become addicted in gambling that's my opinion.

Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is a curse to society
« on: October 02, 2024, 11:52:12 PM »
Gambling is a social crime and illegal in most countries. Gambling has a huge impact on the society of every country. Gambling creates enmity and hatred towards each other in the society. Through this, enmity may arise between the people you know. It is seen that there are many people who earn hard money all month long and only because of their gambling addiction spend money on gambling and lose their hard earned money. If a person loses through gambling, he gambles again so that he can get the money back next time.  But this took a toll on his brain and he began to suffer from restlessness. Thus he cannot live a healthy normal life. So we all should refrain from gambling and spread awareness in the society about the horrors of this gambling. This is one of the main reasons for the downfall of man. Moreover, gambling is completely prohibited according to all religious laws.
As the topic imply to me gambling is a serious curse to the society and to  humanity general, to me there's no good thing gambling brings to the table,to the society gambling is equal to disaster,It often entices individuals with the allure of quick wealth, but for many, it becomes a destructive habit.Gambling can be seen as a curse to society due to its potential for fostering addiction, financial ruin, and social problems.so gambling is a curse to society I agree with you.

Gambling discussion / Re: effect of excessive gambling
« on: October 01, 2024, 06:13:56 PM »
Excessive betting is a very worse situation a gambler can fall into, if you're a gambler mind the limit you go in gambling let it not get to excessive.

Of all the kinds of addiction, I rate gambling as the second most dangerous after drug addiction, it harms the mind the body, relationships, and the wealth of the family this is one of the addictions that should be avoided it is hard to get out from this kind of addiction as it will take a lot of time and money to get cured from this addiction.

If you are gambling for fun be sure that you never cross the line and you are educated on the many risk of being addicted to gambling.
gambling have the capacity to turn a man who gamble for fun into an addicted gambler. Base in psychology whatever you do for 21 times becomes part of you,it becomes your nature, so gambling for fun can turn a man to become addicted gambler, so for me stay clear of it is the best solution that's not your opinion.

I was wondering, which side of a business do you consider the hardest—the start-up or keeping the business going?

In start-ups, you have no customers, and your first task is trying to win customers for your business. To keep the business going, you have to keep the customers you have. Which is more difficult?
It depends on the entrepreneur’s strengths and the specific industry. For some, starting the business is harder due to the many unknowns and the difficulty of building from scratch. For others, scaling and managing growth post-startup is more challenging due to complexities in managing finances, operations, and human resources at a larger scale. But for me,starting a business is not really difficult, anyone can start up a business, but the difficult part of a business is after startup, is keeping the business to run at least for one or two years after starting the business.

I wrote a whole thing on this that dissapeared when I hit post so I'll try again lol. I wanted to share an experience I had with starting a home based business 3 years ago, it was called The Hideaway Ramona. A tiny house bed and breakfast. I have a 6 acre property where I live so I arranged a deal with 5 tiny house owners to park their unit here, I would do all the work associated with renting them out nightly on Airbnb and we would split the money 50/50. Passive income for them, a side job for me. 3 of the houses came to me unfinished, so I remodeled them to completion on nights and weekends for the owners. Which was kind of enjoyable besides being a lot of work. So when they were finished, we listed them and travelers and tiny house enthusiasts came. We started making between $6-800 per week, all I had to do was change the sheets, clean the unit, dump the composting toilet and get it ready for the next group. I'd invested a few thousand dollars into running electricity and water for the hookups, and furnishing the houses with all the necessary stuff. TV's, kitchen appliances, couches etc. Everything went according to plan, we started gathering momentum and had great reviews. Things were looking good, I started building my own tiny house. Had plans of replacing the units with my own houses now that I knew it would work.
Well...it was short lived. 7 months into it one of my neighbors filed a complaint with the county. The county worker came onto my property when we weren't home and took all the pictures he needed to shut us down. The county wanted us to pay for a major use permit. $14k to start the permit process, non-refundable of course, and could cost as much as $300k by the time it was finished. So we had to close up shop. There was no way we could afford that, the thing wasn't bringing in that kind of money.
All that work for nothing, depression set in. It was a real kick in the *****. Felt like an idiot, literally lost quite a bit of money. Didn't even consider trying to start anything for about a year.
Then the idea for business number 3 came up, create a Farm Table Rental business for weddings and events. My wife and I went over the idea for a while and then we went for it. I spent a couple months building the tables, benches, wedding arches, portable bars and other stuff in my wood shop, she spent about that much time building an awesome website and marketing to people in the wedding industry.  We launched and it really has taken off, we are getting a constant flow of visitors to our site and regular bookings for weddings. It's worked out perfectly. All the expenses of building have been paid back from the weddings we've done  Nobody can close us down and its fun to do.
Failure is part of trying new things. Don't be afraid of it, if you fall down then learn what you can from it and push forward again.  In this day and age anyone can start a business, make a website and if you can solve a problem or provide a great service that people want, then the sky is the limit. Do you have an experience with persistence paying off? What happened and how did you get thru it?
persistence is a defining trait that enables entrepreneurs to navigate challenges, innovate continuously, and achieve their business goals despite adversity.Persistence allows entrepreneurs to stay committed to their vision and work hard over time, increasing the likelihood of long-term success.
Persistence is doing what you need to do in business whether it is working or not until a begins to work. It is a key for entrepreneur to succeed in business

Off topic & Sports / what level is gambling destructive?
« on: October 01, 2024, 12:01:32 PM »
To  own opinion I don't think is there any level gambling can get to before it become destructive,to me gambling is equal to distraction, destruction and frustration.

Gambling can be highly destructive, particularly when it becomes an addiction. On an individual level, compulsive gambling can lead to significant financial losses, which in turn can result in debt, bankruptcy, and the loss of personal assets like homes or savings. This financial strain often extends to relationships, causing stress, conflict, and breakdowns in marriages, families, and friendships.

So gambling does not have any level before it can be destructive, any stages of gambling you know is as dangerous as the most dangerous reptiles you know.

Although on a broader societal level, gambling can contribute to social problems such as increased crime rates, as individuals may turn to theft or fraud to support their habit. Communities with high concentrations of gambling establishments may also experience economic downturns, as gambling diverts money from local businesses. My opinion.

Personally let's know what you think about it.
