You do not have to depend on exchanges before making transaction. Government will find it impossible to ban noncustodial wallets.

But your question is somehow because most countries have government that are supporting bitcoin.

It's worse than saving password to Google drive.
I do not know which one is the worst but I see them all as the same unless it is offline. Only offline savings of information like that I can consider safe and secure.

It is no more new but more losses are always linked to LassPass which was an online password manager. Before the stolen of more information that the hackers are using to steal from people, we warned people but they did not listen. LassPass issue has started since 2021 or 2022 until hackers were able to have full access to people's information and using it to steal from them.

Millions of dollars stolen has been linked to LassPass hack but another one has been linked to it by crypto investigator ZachXBT again now.

The January 2024 theft of 283 million XRP from Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen’s personal accounts has been linked to a password manager breach, according to a forfeiture complaint filed by US law enforcement revealed by crypto investigator ZachXBT.

The investigator shared a screenshot of the forfeiture complaint in his Telegram channel on March 7, claiming the theft “was the result of storing private keys in LastPass (password manager which was hacked in 2022). Up to this point, Chris Larsen had not publicly disclosed the cause of the theft.”

I do not know how someone will be able to sleep comfortably overnight and have a private key that have access to millions of dolar worth of coin on an online manager.

In France, police rescued a 56 year old man doused in gasoline. The attacker broke into his home and tied him and his wife up. Took the man away and demanded for ransom fro m his son. If not because he shouted for help in the car he was, police would not have known and intervened. I guess the two captors demanded for crypto from his son.

In Pakistan, seven individuals including a Counter-Terrorism Department officer were arrested on 3rd of January for kidnapping a local crypto trader. The victim was Mohammed Arsalan who was kidnapped on 25th of December and he was forced to transfer 340,000 on his Binance account.

In Australia, a Saudi royal was lured into a kidnapping plot through a dating app. The Daily Mail reported that Catherine Colivas, a 24-year-old woman, lured the royal to her home, where three men, including her boyfriend, ambushed him. The victim was tied up and threatened with having his fingers cut off unless he transferred $40,000 in Bitcoin.

Toronto police are investigating the kidnapping of Dean Skurka, CEO of WonderFi, a Canadian crypto exchange. Skurka was abducted in downtown Toronto during rush hour on Nov. 6 and released after a $1 million ransom was electronically paid, according to CBC News.

Cryptocurrency Trading / Re: Have you ever used Trading bots?
« on: January 02, 2025, 09:39:42 PM »
I have also noticed that I do not need any trading bot. I remember one which can help you to DCA even if you do not continue to visit the exchange. They make trading easier. Also there are some designed to make analyses and help traders to automatically open and close positions but I prefer to trade manually. I prefer to make analyses myself.

Basic questions about this forum / Re: Who gives Karma?
« on: December 30, 2024, 11:50:29 PM »
If you can know how to get a quality post and identify one if you see it, then you're up to the senior rank upwards, then you can give a karma, but we should not be biased or selfish about it, we have to give it as the same way we may want others to give on us, don't give a wrong karma on someones else post because of your personal dispute with such user, it is not good because that same law of karma may hunt you back later.

Basic questions about this forum / Re: Really? Is this Possible?
« on: December 30, 2024, 11:24:40 PM »
People have their different ways of proving right even when they know that they are wrong, what is not worth doing is better not to be considered at all, we cant be posting the way we want when there is a required way or pattern expected from us to use while making our posts, we cant also be too smart on doing things, thinking others are not seeing us to have known them all to be wrong.

General Discussion / Re: drugs or alcohol?

Maybe this will still be another season or time for some people to get drunk as usual, because we are marking the end of the year and all they could reason or think of is to make themselves get drunk and be satisfied with that, but they would have then forgotten that there is always a negative aspect of anything we do that makes us lose our memory and self, it may be as enjoyment to some but has a future repercussion.

General Discussion / Re: how to keep motivated
« on: December 30, 2024, 09:56:49 PM »
We can keep getting motivated by not giving up, things may be hard on us, but we have to be determined for what we are running after not to give up until we have achieved them, there is also good advantage in making persistence, not because we are being adamant about something, but because we realized the potential in wht we are going after and how we could achieve what we want from it by not giving up or losing hope in it.

General Discussion / Re: how will you define money?
« on: December 30, 2024, 09:45:55 PM »
is the medium of exchange. however, keeps everyone in slavery

Money is needed by everyone of us, it doesn't enslave us except if we do allowed it, if you have money in your hands, you wont be in slavery because you have the right to speak and go after anything that you want, but when you're being dependent of others for money, things are not going to work out for you as you may like it, because you're already under slavery already, we should work and earn to have money than being in need and rendered helpless when we don't have money for a living.

There is no free bet on the casinos, if you can say almost free doesn't mean its completely free, they may give any free bet in form of promotional offers, but we must still make wagering of a particular amount in other to be able to place withdrawal from it and this will have to depend on whether we win or lose, if we lose then all the offers together with the balance are gone and if we win, we still have to fulfill on their terms and conditions of service.

Would you believe that someone will give you $10,000 without any effort? If you believe that, you will be easily scammed. End of year discounts are usually bad and not as easy as the profits that are advertised, but 10,800 USDT is closer to a scam.

Merely seeing this, one should know that its most likely to be a scam, there is no father christmas anywhere, even in Rome, you have to pay for their service before you could receive from them, in cryptocurrency, when it looks too real to be true, then its not true, the amount in consideration here is much, not all offers are genuine, most of them could only e a scam in disguise for a big reward

What are the things that you feared and doubted when you started in cryptocurrency?

My first fear was how to learn crypto and the second one was how to get the financial assistant needed to start investing, while the last one i fear most was on how to avoid losing my investment on the crypto asset i've chosen, undoubtedly, these are also found to be the most common of what we see among those starting new in cryptocurrency, but now that i've learnt more about crypto, i can be able to invest without fear on missing out since i have the knowledge of what am doing and could make it right unlike when i started new.

Is there anyone who trades forex as well as cryptocurrency? What are the major differences in terms of trading strategies? Are there any similarities?

They both have many similarities together, we can learn to trade forex and also do crypto together, because they both deals with market pairs or currency pairs, you make use of the chart to know how they have been performing to the extent of having the understanding of which to pick as a pair with prospect, we can choose to use any strategy for our trade, when we understand the kinds of trades we have and which we want, the only difference in them is that one is crypto and the other is fiat currencies.

Trading (Not crypto) / Re: Start small with Stocks
« on: December 28, 2024, 05:47:01 PM »
The Stocks market is another way to diversify one's portfolio. Do not put all your eggs in one basket.

Investment on stocks is one of the olden days and traditional pattern of investment which has been existing before the introduction of crypto, there is no doubt that buying shares and bonds are other ways of being profitable as well as being dynamic towards making investment diversification to this day, it is a wise decision if we can invest in shares and also have some crypto portfolios together and keep them.
