Difference bull run between BTC now and BTC from 2017.

Bitcoin’s ongoing bull run has proved to be different from the retail-driven run seen in 2017. Thus, technical levels and indicators are behaving differently. What is the difference besides the price ?

Besides the huge price right now, another difference is that financial institutions have found bitcoin as a more lucrative investment than gold or other assets, thus the bull run we are experiencing is going to be a long one maybe throughout the year, cause no one wants to sell their bitcoin for peanuts, $100k per bitcoin might achieveable this year.

Yes, it is easy to make good profit with btc than with gold, unlike btc that is highly volatile gold is relatively stable which makes the price less vulnerable than btc, gold increases in price with time, but can give $500 - $1000 within minutes depending on the market movement.

For Btc, I don't know if 2017 and 2021 are similar, but it looks like a dejavu for altcoins. I think April - May will be good. The really good moves will be in November-December. I'm waiting 100k in bitcoin. It is not investment advice. These are my personal thoughts.

For Bitcoin it has been the biggest change. Since the bull run of 2017, there is not much left in this 2021, only a few coins/tokens continue to hold and rise. Ethereum is one of them, with its current problems, XRP is another of them, with other types of problems. So I think the biggest difference is that altcoins keep trying, but nobody can against Bitcoin in any way.

It is not always the same between one Bullrun and another Bullrun. The current Bullrun seems to take a longer time than the previous Bullrun. The current Bullrun has much big support to last longer, including the support from many newcomers in crypto trading/investments. We can see that some big companies, top people in the world, forex traders, and common people are trying to take benefits from the crypto business nowadays.

In every greatness what soever, there is always a point of starting, getting the attention of people (where it was termed to be a bubble that could burst at any time), which where and lot more of things that were not in support of bitcoin success. When the deep came at 2018, there where lots of losses in the market, people left the system and so on. With these all done, the attention of the populace where gotten.
Now, the interest of institutional bodies, and wealthy personnel coming into the system has made the crypto space to gain the popularity it has ever wanted.

Then in 2017, 2018, it was market manipulation done by whales to make and takeout profits, now, investors, mass adoption and popularity of bitcoin is affecting the price growth.

Of course @Stuart. From early 2018 to mid-2020 (roughly) it has been the whales that have controlled and kept the price of Bitcoin low. For a few months (6 or 7) they have not had that capacity, since players with a very large economic capacity have come into play, Tesla and others as you know, and the whales cannot against them, that's why the price of Bitcoin has skyrocketed. Anyway, this has just begun.

BTC in 2017 increased so suddenly and reach the new ATH in a short time, but the ATH was only a moment. However, the price of Bitcoin kept falling down after the ATH was created. Different from now, Bitcoin reached a new ATH last year. But the price keeps increasing again and reaches another ATH in almost every month

This current bull run is just something extraordinary, the price of bitcoin just keeps reaching new highs like its very easy, I think the main reason for this relentless pumping in terms price is because of the amount of big firm that started accumulating bitcoin as an asset or store of value, also more adoptions are taking place unlike in 2017 when it was only known to traders.
