Wow, checking up email is an excellent and easy way out of regrets..  I don't think such readjustment would happen without general notification via email.

The reality is that not everyone check their email constantly - there are so many news/information relating to services that we make use of that we get to see an update about on a blog or a news headline meanwhile they have sent that mail to us several days ago or even weeks.

It has happened to me many times and I get to read about it in Bitcointalk before going to my mail to really confirm if something like that really came and also you know sometimes our mail get filled with so many mails that we get confused on which of them to read leading to us missing an important message among them.

Last time it was Binance, I actually don’t know what caused I but we all got a notification that the old deposit wallet was changed and if would no longer be used to make deposits and now I just go a notification from an exchange [CoinEx] that wallet addresses has been changed and old ones will no longer be of use.

If you’re the type that saves his/her exchange address on a notepad and then just copy from there, make sure you stop and just go to the exchange directly and get your wallet address from there and if you know the address will be used for a long time make sure you used the one from a non-custodial wallet.
When this type of update are made they sent mails to all their registered users to know about this. The people that would be mostly affected are those who aren't that active with mails or doesn't check and read emails.
For instance, there were times where I just copied my address and put on my profile without me going to my exchange to copy whenever I am making payments, but at some point I become very conscious of it since I have been reading lot of post on the forum and I wouldn't want to be a victim of such incident I started visiting exchange that I want to use their address to trade or transact.

However, I can't actually remember when last I visited this exchange as I don't like using it due to my personal reasons instead I love using binance to trade and do whatever I feels like.

Wow, checking up email is an excellent and easy way out of regrets..  I don't think such readjustment would happen without general notification via email. That being so reading emails can help stop that had I know even when still going on with copy and paste. But crossing out copy n paste na the sure bet likewise using non-custodial wallet on long term bases...
You know it's always important to use a noncustodial wallet while making transaction especially that of withdrawing funds from external wallet to exchange address, to me I would always advocate using that wallet instead of using direct exchange address  because one could get missed-up somewhere and misplaced funds in that exchange had announced their change of address and such person didn't get the information for it and went on to send fund and automatically that fund got missing.

Even though we are using self custodial wallet to save or keep bitcoin, there will be a day you will like to use centralized exchange to sell the coin at the moment you need cash unless you know someone who is buying direct per to per (p2p). Though normally say make we no dey keep coins in exchange for a long period but also this days before exchange dey collapsed them dey announced am say make everyone go remove their coins go another exchange. And only di good exchanges nai dey do that announcement.

Di matter what we can't avoid centralized exchanges. And the only thing be say make no dey keep coins there but only use am to sell and buy or trading.

You are right we no fit avoid using these exchange because we need them to trade our coin just a you said, but what matters is that how trusted are they and how can you used them without having any issues. For about p2p well, I also offer p2p services on Bitcointalk you can search for the thread  then place your order if coin is received then I will send the equivalent in NGN to your account which would be sent as pm to me.

Some people are just so careless that they won't cross-check their wallet before using it to carry out transactions, they'll just send the using the default deposit address and end up losing their assets everyone needs to be careful based on situations like this cause you could end up sending a wrong deposit address to someone. I came across an information on the media similar to this bit that one was concerning a malware by scammers on binance exchange that changes the address of those who copy paste and if the person happens to be someone who doesn't cross-check the wallet when they copy paste bfore withdrawal then they'll end up losing their asset to scammers.

The copy paste malware is actually getting popular now and it’s not even only on Binance - there are some private note site that when you input your wallet address and then encrypt it and send to your client, when you client decrypt it what they’ll see is a wallet address that’s totally different from what you sent to them.

Some of those sites were reported in Bitcointalk and it has made so many people lose their money.

In Binance at the first time when the matter burst out making people were panicking and I also went into research and I discovered that it was not all the bitcoin address but for some specific ones and the I was using the old address till the end of the exchange in Nigeria. Even now if I will use Binance I will still used the old address and not to use new address. Because it was affected only for traders and not for p2p users.
But it is good to cross check the address before using because if you missed one digit then your coins are gone.

I could remember that period how the buzz was on then and everyone who registered with binance was running agog to making sure their coin were still intact forgetting that the exchange would still make sure their balance remains the same. I personally checked my address and it was not affected though and my balance were intact. I could remember then how I would always cross check my wallet address twice before making any transfer so as to avoid stories that touches the heart and till this moment, I still cross check my wallet address before making transaction to avoid issues of assets sent to the wrong address.
