That's right, by starting start we can do big and only those members should consider this job who have time, I mean local mods don't have to do much, because the forum is new, they only have to report spam as much as I know, which also other good reputed members reports mostly to the mods.

But a global mod has to spend time here, listen to the matters and do the work, this requires dedicated time, so only those members should consider who are willing to do the work, and speaking of pay, if they would be getting in stable then everyone wants to be mod haha.

I'm not a moderator because of the 50 BTC the admin sends me each year, but because I enjoy supporting and contributing to this forum. Since I've been here (2020), I've seen a lot of things I've liked, and over the past year and a half (approximately), I've seen the forum grow, which is a real joy. Furthermore, the atmosphere among all users is very positive (except for some dramas that occurred in the past), and that's something I also value.

Thanks for sharing, but I do think that it's part of the community and it's about normal to have dramas, like in real life community. But at the end of the day, the best thing is that they have settled it already and we move on.

Being a moderator is sometimes not easy, due to certain decisions that must be made, but that is forgotten when we see more and more users participating in the forum actively and positively.

What I said about the 50 BTC is obviously a joke.

Of course it's not easy, specially that everyone has different personalities and then the community growing from last year. So it's a very tough job but it doesn't matter as you are getting 50 BTC as pay.  ;D

Sorry to ask, but what drama are you guys talking about? Freemind mentioned it, but I thought out of many dramas there could be any he is talking about, but now you also mentioned it, so I thought maybe you guys are talking about one if you don't mind sharing.

Community is really growing and with time, as I come to hear, Trump administration has explicitly mentioned mixers and other crypto tools, that we will lift sanctions from them, therefore, I hope in near future, we will see more crypto projects and more mixers too.

All your curiosity merged together, you are also interested to be a moderator. Though I was not a pioneer forum user but a teleported member here and when I came and what I saw the selection process of moderators in the forum was by appointment but I don't know if those who were appointed forwarded interest letters to the admin foe the appointment. In some boards the previous moderators were not active so they were changed.

So if you are interested you can make it publicly so that whenever there is an open spot, you can be mentioned or nominated.

Re: Questions regarding Mods
« Reply #18 on: April 11, 2025, 07:06:23 AM »
My first questions is to the moderators of this forum. How did you guys became moderators (both global and local)? Was there any specific criteria?
I write as someone who was a moderator at a defunct crypto site. Mine was that I indicated interest to be a mod when the question was raised on a thread for it by an admin (I guess site owner). It was a small traffic driven site with a lot of spammers on it. All that was required was for anyone to indicate interest that they were willing to moderate and then their profile was reviewed. Those that were found capable were picked after a few days.

My second questions is, how does one becomes mods even in 2025? Does he has to be super knowledgeable in terms of crypto? Or any other requirements?
I don't think any superb knowledge in cryptos really count as requirement, even here too. Perhaps being active and the willingness to control spam posts will be picked above the knowledgeable thing.

Quote
And my last questions is, what privileges/benefit's/advantages a mods gets apart from regular users?
But of course, there should be. I got paid on that forum as a mod but it was with the native token (shittoken) of that forum that never got listed 💔. I used to have that token either in my Imtoken or MEW app those days. I can't remember which exactly now. Moderating isn't easy but it's fun to do.
