Even after reading so many articles on the internet, I am still not clear as to how people research the authenticity of a potential altcoin before investing in it. I have invested in two altcoins in the past and both of them turned out to be fraud. There are some coins in the article that sounds promising. Should I be looking into it? Or should I stick to Bitcoin only? Honestly, I do not have a lot of trust in bitcoin, given its ever-changing price.

Personally, reading articles is only one of my strategy to increase the knowledge and information, but we cannot decide it as our main purpose of choosing new altcoins. we must follow up with certain analysis. First is about the product to be released and utilised, whether they are a real product to be utilized in the world or not. Sometimes, the project that has real product wil be more valuable for long term investment. And also the most important thing is the team member and developer of the altcoins, whether they are real or not, have ood track record and experience or not. Then, how they choose the first exchange. The good coin will choose wisely the trusted exchange.

Some investors can asses the authenticity of an altcoin based on their own personal knowledge. And what I mean here is, investors can only tell if a project is legit or fake if he has enough knowledge on blockchain and some knowledge on other field like economics. It is not enough the you only know how to read a whitepaper.

And must of these assessment is completely based on individual know how, it does not give a final conclusion that these projects are genuine or fake. I think identifing scam ICOs from the fake is completely uncertain; something it is even individuals opinion on on certain researches carried out. In my personal opinion, a follow up of any project by knowing, at least a member of the team face to face or through real friends and associate will be excellent before investing in some of these project.
