However, I don't quite understand how these wallet app can create free accounts for users, because Eos charges a fee for creating new accounts instead of being free like many other blockchains in the market.

A simple way to store EOS is to use Eos EVM directly on Metamask, but this method only allows users to interact with EVM instead of directly using the Eos blockchain
