I don't know if I should be happy or feel worried about this move, Tether have had some controversies on their way quite often which has not been good. Should we be comfortable with this?

Very enthusiastic from Tether and it must be created to become a competition in real Gold which is frozen in digital form.
I also believe that gold is better to invest than other assets because the increase in gold is now a topic in the news such as CNBC and Bloomberg.

I think there's nothing wrong about it, as long as Tether will be more transparent regarding its token supply which is truly backed by gold. since some platforms are not honest about it. Some platforms even minted too many tokens without proper auditing about its Gold holdings stored in vaults. I admired those honest platforms that observe transparency about its Gold holdings in any respective vaults. to show that each of its tokens was really backed by Gold.

What I think is that if tether has recorded a formidable result for past few months then they are free to lunch their project knowing well that it will be a great support for the tether token backed by gold in order to burst the market for their cryptocurrency project.

Tether will not launch this project without scaling the possible thoughts of the people from recent issues. I think it is our decision whether we support or not.

everything has been thought of for sure by the tether, surely there will be those who support and some who do not support, but if tether presents their golden version is good right?  because gold is very popular with everyone, what is the price of gold today is very high, invest in modern gold why not !!!

I can understand you being doubtful about this plan. Tether being backed by imaginary fiat which was supposed to be backed by gold. Now, they plan on launching a stable coin backed by a most likely imaginary gold.

This is what happens when you f*ck up the crypto community the first time. Once your reputation is tarnished, it's pretty hard to fix it and win the community's trust over again.

I still have a lot of questions about USDT. I'm not even sure for sure that it's actually backed by the dollar. And now they have decided to release tether gold backed with gold. And where will they get this gold I'm curious to know? And do they really have that gold to back them with a new coin? Somehow, this is all pathetic and sounds more like some marketing. My opinion is that it is quite stable dollar-backed coin

Yes I'm not comfortable with Tether since their USDT backed by US dollars already have problems cause it is not backed by dollars with the same amount. So I think that they will do it again on this token backed by gold. They keep on minting new coins and dump it on the market. Too centralized, thats not Satoshi wants to happen with cryptocurrency.
