Myetherwallet is widely used but gas price is high and low transaction speed.

As seems to be the common consensus, MEW in combination with a hard wallet like Trezor or Ledger is a good combination. Plus there are many staking coins where you can hold in the native wallet and receive rewards for doing so. Basically try to avoid keeping any on exchanges, apart from any that you plan to trade regularly. Don't put all your eggs in one basket either, spread your portfolio over a number of addresses, that way if one gets hacked you will not lose everything. Stay safe.

Yes! My friend is using it and he said it is good and safe because it blocks the phishing sites so your alcoins/tokens are safe through using this.

I used etherwallet is so nice i didn't see any failure at all. Affcourse we know that we need to keep our private key secret. Thats the only one thing that will make our wallet safe.
