In my opinion to reveal Satoshi's identify is about life and death.
We can watch  on television the news about brutal crimes related to wealth.
Some people in this world are after money and wealth.
They can kill without hesitation just to get what they want.
Better to remain silent and keep it secret to maintain peace and security of the anonymous member.

I used to believe that he was one of the most supportive of BTC & the most influential crypto community. I also support every ICO project he participates as an Advisor. It's normal for BTC not to reach $1M, but the way he refuses to admit mistakes & says it's just a joke is really hard to accept. McAfee has completely lost his reputation & pride.

I think that will have such a big impact that the halving will completely lose the impact on BTC price.
McAfee's job at the moment is to focus on some of the projects he participates in instead of appearing & talking unrealistic things that are beyond his reach.

I personally doubt your story, and I think that John McAfee may be speaking for more personal recorganition from the crypto community. Based on record so far, Satoshi nakamoto identity is still skeptical, at least to the best of my knowledge.
However, somebody or group of people actually did published the white paper on Bitcoin 10years ago, but it may be very difficult for anyone or the group to make a concrete prove to the entire crypto community of this claim.
Some person has claimed to be Satoshi Nakamoto but were not able to convinced the crypto community. We  may possibly face similar proof situation when Mr John McAfee announce another Satoshi even if he his well known and respected on the crypto space, the proof of a person or group of persons may be difficult to believe.
