Jesse Powell, a highly regarded market guru and the CEO of Kraken cryptocurrency exchange said the price of bitcoin could surpass $100,000 as early as 2022. This would be an appreciation of over 1000% within a mere two years.

I think this is another non-sense prediction from popular person. I still don't see the factors that Bitcoin can increase its price to $100,000. We all know that $100,000 is a very big price and if it really happens how the reaction of all people around the world? I think the government may not let it happens. And also, how the price of Bitcoin to achieve $100,000? Do we think it really happens because of hype or trends? I never think that it really can help much in Bitcoin price move.

To me this is more like a wishful thinking, there are no indices anywhere supporting such claims, Bitcoin won't see such price spike. I don't see the price going above $20,000 - $25,000 in the next  2 years speculation he talked about. I think some of these well known guys on this space, make some statements to stay relevant.

The idea is that he cannot be an expert. It is impossible that the price of bitcoin will change so much in two years. I think the price of bitcoin could be $30,000 in 2022. Honestly, I doubt this prediction as achieving $100,000 in 2 years isn't an easy thing. We know that the current price even cannot reach $10,000. Then, how the price of Bitcoin can peak over $100,000? The surge in price must have big factors, it cannot happen suddenly. Although everything depnds on the supply-demand in the market, but the interest of people to buy should have strong reasons. Well, I still didn't see a big reason for people to buy massively except for investment as usual.

You have a good point here. If Bitcoin surpasses it all time hight of 2017, and jump to $100k  in 2 years to come, how would people afford to buy?. Just like you put it, " If Bitcoin makes a few more similar price spikes, who will again step on the same rake". This is a good for thought in my opinion. Thanks
