Did Bitmain's internal problems arise from their IPO plans? During this period, I think they can use the pandemic reason to account for their delayed deliveries.
Anyway I still believe that with Ethereum's switch to PoS, the wave of consensus protocol transfers will affect mining companies, including Bitmain.
