There is nothing new about the popularity of Bitcoin. Bitcoin is very popular and the popularity of Bitcoin is increasing day by day. My idea is that Bitcoin is a coin suitable for investing. Many have been successful in investing in Bitcoin. So I think Bitcoin is a suitable coin for investment.

Of course I think Bitcoin is best for long term investment.  Although the price of Bitcoin has been fluctuating a bit for months.  This is an isolated incident. It has been seen in the past that if the price of Bitcoin dumps, it does not increase rapidly. After a long time, the price continues to rise.  So I can say that Bitcoin is not suitable for short term investment but more profit is possible in long term investment.

Honestly, many people including me is looking at Bitcoin more as an investment asset (which we are wishing can be rising up all the time though this is impossible) more than a payment network and that is the reason why we are holding on to it and will not be moving no matter what.

Since we are thinking more like an investor rather than as a consumer,  should we then look at Bitcoin as a long-term investment just like getting into real estate? And how long is the long-term here, 5 years, 10 years?

If you can go for 5 or 10 years investment in BTC, i think that will be batter but BTC price now huge high and if you have enough money you can take a risk. As everywhere not positive news and new investments also, I think BTC future is bright and no doubt about BTC at present moment.
